I don't think this will be easy, Russia is very stringent about online transactions and where money is coming/going from. Even to withdraw from online Russian wallets are a nightmare.

Is this news true? Is that just a hoax?
If indeed this news is true, it is possible to boost the price of bitcoin,
Maybe it's time to stock as much bitcoin.

That is a great news that Russia is going to adopt bitcoin for their payment processor and with that I know that the price will once again start to increase very higher. Now one by one every country will know that how beneficial bitcoin is and they will adopt t for their benefits and so bitcoin will run to high faster in price.

This is nonsense, anything that gives freedom to people is not going to be adopted by "russia". Russia is so stupid and bipolar when it comes to bitcoin, they don't know what to do with it, so they keep changing positions about it.

Not a long time ago they wanted to put bitcoiners in jail:

https://sputniknews.com/business/20140127186966541-Russias-Central-Bank-Bitcoin-Users-Can-Face-Jail-Time/

Fucking idiots. They don't know bitcoin doesn't care about government opinions.

BBZ may be a tad harsh, but I think he is reading the Russian mentality (at least the Russian GOVERNMENT mentality) correctly.  Were I a Russian there, I would be very careful with BTC.  Too much freedom and all.

A credit card from Germany (etc.) and a VPN might be very helpful.  Many Russians are scary-smart.  It's their government that's not.

Russia is rather poor country

Are You trying to not cry, being under Russian sanctions?

https://worldview.stratfor.com/article/beyond-recession-more-problems-await-russia

The number of people living below the poverty level, $177 per month, jumped from 16 million in 2014 to 20 million last year according to Rosstat.

177$ it what a guy working at mcdonald's earns in 3 days.

Russians overall are poor. That's a fact no matter how you might spin it.

Doesn't mean that they're incapable of contributing to a Bitcoin price rise though.

For one thing, the Bitcoin price is largely speculative, and this will be regarded as a fundamental factor.  Japan's "adoption" was not as extreme as people like to claim it was either, but it contributes to the price because people felt that it was information which would drive the price up.

It's basically a self-fulfilling prophecy, but that's how the Bitcoin price is.

Regardless, you might also want to try quick google search to find out the total population of Russia.  There are several Russian billionaires and prominent businessmen/institutional investors, as well as (of course) groups with somewhat average wealth.

Such a small percentage of people in the Western world are actually involved in Bitcoin that belittling another country is meaningless.  If to you it's only about money, then maybe you should consider how little money it would actually require to shift the price up.

wow time to make a good decision whether to sell all the alts and wait for the price to rally up and wait for its ath again before buying those alts back
its a good news for most investors and traders as we see new price up better to keep watching and hold more if possible.

I think it is really yet never too late to buy some bitcoin or shall i say to invest. Yes true that you should make a good decision with regards to this but seling bitcoin right now is for me not a bad decision either yet the best option is to really hold especially that russia has also a huge population and most of them are also open minded when it regards to new tech like btc

Russia?
No.

A payment processor from Russia and not even on of the top 3.
And to make things worse,  ChronoPay is probable the worst of them.

And it's founder and owner ...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pavel_Vrublevsky

Bitcoin doesn't need this kind of hype anymore.
It's not 2013 to cheer every time a shop accepts bitcoin.

I'll open another beer if I see Putin taking payments for the s400 in bitcoins.

Who wants S400 to pay with bitcoin?
When will you people learn?
Putin/ Trump/ Queens and Kings they all are just a face, they're the puppets, only the minority with military power are controlling everything.
But let me assure you, bitcoin is strong as it is with the support of individuals around the world.
As long as people willing to pay for it and accept it as a digital currency we don't really need anything else for that matter.
The important thing is that we have seen it and supporting the idea behind it, that's it we just have to wait for everyone else to see and have an experience like us.

Because my dear friend who is misunderstanding what a country is and what a business located in a county is..

The moment putin(russia) will get paid for the s400 with bitcoin will be the moment in which RUSSIA accepts bitcoins.

Until then webmoney can use bitcoin, vk cna use bitcoin, lukoil can sell gas for bitcoin, Russian mailbrides can accept bitcoin but it doesn't mean RUSSIA (the country and the goverment) is accepting bitcoins.

CryptoTalk.Org - Get Paid for every Post!
Just hearing in the wires that Russians largest payment processor will be accepting BTC payments imminently. It's already been coded. Go live within days.

Updates to follow...
So what? Russia had bitcoins banned at one point and after getting them to be legal again didn't have any influence on the price of the bitcoin, so I am sure nothing will happen this time again, price explosion would be possible only if something bigger would start adopting it like usa or china.
It is a rapidly spreading phenomenon, and although we all saw it coming, I am still shocked at the way bitcoin is being adopted world wide.  WoW!
Believe me, it is not getting adopted at the pace you think it is, the money that went into bitcoins during the last few weeks were mostly the speculators trying to make money out of it. We still have a long time to wait till worldwide adoption.

“It’s already enabled,” Vrublevsky tells CCN when asked when the company plans begin supporting bitcoin payments on its gateway.

There is no BTC as "elecronic currencies".

Listed only Webmoney and QIWI.

Nothing about BTC on the site.

WebMoney and now accept bitcoins. Why would they wait for 2018? Why is Putin to accept bitcoin? Russia's economy and so apart. This is probably the last attempt of Putin to attract investment, but she only will finish its economy.

Guys, hold your horses, it is true that this is not exactly Russia as a country accepting bitcoin directly, but this is a solid first step.
Bitcoin is not that awesome to take whole world, there is still scaling issue, limit of tx per second.
We must settle for one small step after another, and after some time maybe even PayPal will accept BTC directly.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Tom Larson, Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that a Nixa, Mo., man pleaded guilty in federal court today to conducting an illegal money transmitting business by exchanging bitcoin for cash without a license.

Jason R. Klein, 37, of Nixa, waived his right to a grand jury and pleaded guilty before U.S. Magistrate Judge David P. Rush to a federal information that charges him with conducting an unlicensed and unregistered money transmitting business.
...
Between Feb. 6, 2015, and July 27, 2016, Klein, acting with another, met with two undercover federal agents on numerous occasions to exchange bitcoin for cash. Today’s plea agreement cites five separate transactions in which money (ranging from $1,000 to $15,000) was exchanged in person for an electronic transfer of bitcoin. Each of the transactions included a fee that Klein or another person charged the undercover agents, for a total of $2,122 in fees.

Glad to see this change. The founder even admitted to criticizing Bitcoin in the past and now has openly accepted it as their payment method and even as others have said that Chronobank is not a good online payment companies, it is still considered as a reputed brand and this can set as an example for other countries as well who consider bitcoins illegal and bitcoin users criminals. The more countries accepting it, the more it will help its adoption worldwide.

So no big news about russia accepting bitcoin?
Hmm, well maybe they will in futher!
THey have been involving in bitcoin for many years. Hope that the price will change after the rumor. Rumors always give bitcoin potential to increase the price
No doubt rumors and buzzes are biggest price motivator for bitcoin. But its scope is limited to speculators. It hardly contributes directly to increased adoption or so. But yes, if we see indirectly price is one of the biggest attracting force of people towards bitcoin. So hope Russian acceptance will contribute to real increase in btc prices.
