Yeah probably BS but anyone have idea why he would be lying?
Is there any reward to gain from this? Is it about popularity or maybe some other business?

Why he just cant login here and prove his claims?

Get Rekt
There is plenty of doubts that he is really satoshi.
First of all the "organic" release of information.
Mainstream media Gavin and Jon Matonis´s blog magicly all release the info at the same time.
When have we seen that before?

Shit, did I leave the stove on?
Well Craig said in that BBC interview that other people have helped him with developing the technology so does that mean there was an international team behind Bitcoin and he was probably the main developer or the idea guy so to speak? So I guess the coins are not entirely his to spend as he pleases. But anyways if he is the real Satoshi Nakamoto this is huge!

Unfortunately all medias want is to be first of every breaking news out there and "BBC, the Economist and GQ" are no different. They jump to conclusion without evaluating in a scale that would eliminates voids that some could use into pretending to be SN and can't believe that "Craig Wright" is the man were all wondering, even with "Gavin Andresen" blog post since nothing has been provided publicly in order to make those that have well understanding of BTCitcoin to evaluate it and has refused to do some other steps. He also tries to go with the humble style of not after the whole hype that started after the news break through but I ain't buying it.

This is convenient for medias because they love sensationalism, and they are not only one who enjoying this. People are reacting very fast and without thinking, so price decreasing is very possible, if this false news is not refuted on every place where are they appeared..

..which could strongly prove his relation to, or identity of being Satoshi Nakamoto himself. Dafuq is happening?
No. The evidence is false. Read my previous post in the thread.
-snip-

Thanks for further reading for this topic. Was baffled for a couple of minutes for what in the name of bitcoin is happening. Seems like BBC and other media outlets don't have time to further investigate the topic.

Again, thanks for the clarification.

Oops and btw,

"It (the signature) absolutely doesn't show that Wright is Satoshi, and it does very strongly imply that the purpose of the blog post was to deceive people."

So Satoshi will remain anonymous. Cheesy

Let's all act like upset schoolgirls because we thought that Satoshi was 12ft tall, blue and living on the dark side of the moon  Grin

thats exactly what lot of people is doing, sadly...

people forget that all those news from BBC are just sensationalist, they are doing exactly what they want, to attract attention people, even if they are sharing shits about who is the real SN, they dont care about it, since they are getting what they want, again, the same history, people will never learn, first, proof it, later, claim it

How stupid are people and how stupid are journalists??
I think that you have the answer to that question; very stupid.

OP it is time to edit the thread title as it is misleading.

Just woke up to this news, too. Was shocked to read this part of the article:

Quote
"Mr. Wright digitally signed messages using cryptographic keys created during the early days of Bitcoin’s development. The keys are inextricably linked to blocks of bitcoins known to have been created or mined by Satoshi Nakamoto."

..which could strongly prove his relation to, or identity of being Satoshi Nakamoto himself. Dafuq is happening?

For 10 seconds I thought this was real and that we (us bitcoiners) would be very busy today and the following time... but after just looking a little into this article, I still don’t see the proof?? And isn’t it the second time this man is in the media claiming that he is Satoshi Nakamoto?? Jesus, this man just want to be famous or sell something, how stupid are people and how stupid are journalists??

In absence of any counter claims, there's no reason not to believe him.Do you think he can fool bbc, economist etc?
Are you for real? He has provided zero evidence even though he claims that he did, ergo he was trying to fool and manipulate people (which he has obviously succeeded). "Counter claims" are not needed when the provided evidence, which was used to build up the claim, was false. You can fool BBC, Economist and others quite easily; actually, almost as easily as he has fooled you.

What I can't believe is even the BBC is hopping on the fucking bandwagon, just goes to show you how little these news journalists know about Bitcoin.
Such media can be easily fooled, one day Bitcoin is dying and the next day it is a huge success.  Roll Eyes

I'm not surprised at all. Remember Dorian Nakamoto? Pretty much every major news site jumped on it despite zero evidence and DN himself denying it.

"he's got the private keys. "

he is refusing to sign a tx using block 9 keys and merely discovered a hash referencing Jean-Paul Sartre on block 9 which anyone could have made.

"He also says he can’t send any bitcoin because they are now owned by a trust. And he rejected the idea of having The Economist send him another text to sign as proof that he actually possesses these private keys, rather than simply being the first to publish a proof which was generated at some point in the past by somebody else. Either people believe him now—or they don’t, he says. “I’m not going to keep jumping through hoops.”"

It is trivial for him to publish a message and than sign a new tx without risk and without moving them out of a trust.

He is clearly a fraud.
If he is,its time real Satoshi came out and prove him wrong. In absence of any counter claims, there's no reason not to believe him.Do you think he can fool bbc, economist etc?

I'm highly skeptical as well, there are several falsely media announced and self-announced Satoshi Nakamoto's out there, unless he is going to 'jump through the hoops' no one, particularly me will believe him unless we see him sign stuff like the genesis block.

there is no way anymore to prove at 100% that you are satoshi, even signing will not do it, because the wallet could have been stolen

therefore i'm not buying it no matter what it happen, satoshi's identity will never be revealed to the public
