Its CPU only ? I thought I saw someone posting about a grindseed ?

I have been mining with my little gridseed for about 15 hours which net me 1400 SIS but there aren't any transactions happening on the chain so 0 fees have been scavenged.

I'm running a GRIDSEED USB MINI 5-chip ASIC/SCRYPT DUAL-MODE MINER for this coin its up to 2500 now

If your configuration file already enables server, you don't need to set that also via shortcut.
Otherwise you look to be all set...

Thanks. Good to know.

So it appears I am all set but mining is still not working.

I'm operating under the assumption that "rpcuser" is my receiving address and that "rpcpassword" is whatever I want or some variables/options if applicable. I have created the .conf in my roaming folder that has everything exactly the same as what was provided except for the "rpcuser" being changed to my receiving address. When I start the miner (Pooler's cpuminer 2.4.5) it says http://prntscr.com/bji0l7 which suggests I'm not getting paid out. I tried with the other one that brother3 recommended and I got a JSON error I don't know what to do with.

I've mined a few dozen different coins on multiple different algorithms. I'm no expert but I'm pretty confident that if I'm having this much difficulty many others are too.

I could be wrong but i believe rpcuser and rpcpassword are the user name and password that you use in the miner. for instance rpcuser = "joe" rpcpassword = "password" at least thats what i did and mine is working great.

Hi guys, do you need a Russian translation for this thread? I could do it for a good bounty.

I will give you 70 coins, if anyone else wants to jump in they can, i am first IPO buyer so have access to funds right now and can send them to you as soon as it has been written and confirmed . (if it is needed)

Okay, I'll start now, but it would be better if the community will throw additional coins, since there's hell lot of text in the original post. Russian community is one of the biggest here, so it will definitely be worth it.

I have spoken to some of the main dev's on the slack channel and they have said it is ok to do this on the thread so...

I am going to be auctioning off the card asset Jack Of Hearts

I have had offers off a few members in slack to determine what i could get/value terms , ranging from 1btc-1.2btc . If you check on the slack channel there have been purchases of cards for more than this , if the person was specifically after an exact card they were looking for . it would be unfair to begin with a high price as such and make entry level into the auction far too high and less people being interested. So i will begin at 0.2 btc with bid increments of 0.01 min.

If you wish to bid then quote the last bid and then place your bid after it , i will try to follow , update this thread of current bid and post reminders every so often not a stupidly high amount that will lead to pointless clutter thou . The auction will end on June 27, 2016 11am PDT , This is done to coincide with the reduction bonus on the IPO currently taking place for breakoutcoins , From 10%-5% next week. Please remember that today is the last day to get a 15% bonus for buying into the breakoutcoin IPO : https://bittrex.com/crowdfund/brk . you have about 6-7 hours left.

Auction

Jack Of Hearts(breakoutcoin asset)

Starting bid : 0.20 BTC
Minimum increments : 0.01 BTC

Auction End Date : June 27, 2016 11am PDT

Current Bid : 1.5 BTC

Thanks. I did not see that before. Still, I am unable to get mining working. There was no conf file in roaming and I have no idea what a "breakoutrpc" is. I added a conf file to roaming and assumed breakoutrpc is referring to my wallet address, but no luck so far. I'm just trying to use my CPU right now.
The error I'm getting from cpuminer is "no payout address provided switching to getwork". Any help would be appreciated.

create shortcut of Breakout-coin.exe -> right click shortcut and select properties -> add -server at end of target and click apply -> create breakout.conf file in roaming folder [ search %appdata% to find folder]

conf file example

Code: (breakout.conf)
rpcuser=changethisuser
rpcpassword=changethispass
daemon=1
server=1
debug=0
defaultcurrency=BRK
defaultstake=BRX
testnet=0

then create startmine.bat file in cgminer folder and add this
Code:
cgminer.exe -o 127.0.0.1:50542 -u changethisuser -p changethispass

Clicking apply does not work when I add -server at the end of the target. I get "The name specified in the target box is not valid. Make sure the path and file name are correct."

I don't know what to make of this error.

Can someone explain Sistercoin to me a little more clearly, I have read all the information provided and am still confused about it.

From what I can gather PoW rewards SIS but you only earn transaction fees if there are any in that block which seems like a very small reward for running my gear. What can you do with Sistercoin? do they stake like BRX?

The transaction fees you earn are BRK and only POW earns these. As for sistercoin, there is just a hope it will be use in the future for something. It is not the primary reason to POW

So to run my gear and burn hydro I get "rewarded" with something with no inherent value and dust. that doesn't seem like a fair trade to me. That can't be the system they designed I hope they add Sis somewhere in the game betting platform.

We won't add SIS in the gaming platform, although we will fully support it. Obviously, mining SIS is not for everyone.

Ok, so what is the intended purpose of SIS? From what I have inferred from the white paper it appears that it can be used to pay fees which would then reward a miner with BRK converted from SIS, is that its only function? On the webpage SIS is described as a POS coin, so does it stake? Information about this part of the chain is quite vague so I just need some clarity.

SIS is a Proof-of-Work (PoW) coin. It in no way can be interconverted with any other currency. SIS is rewarded to miners for finding blocks and provides PoW security for the chain. It is actively being mined and has been since launch was announced.

Currently mining SIS is the only way the chain moves. SIS is the only PoW currency on the chain. Only 21M SIS will ever be in existence. Just like Bitcoin, a SIS block is mined on average every 10 minutes and starts with a 50 SIS per block reward. SIS can also be minted via Proof-of-Stake (PoS) by playing cards. Staking playing cards is the only way PoS can mint SIS. Playing cards mature after about 48 days and mint just over twice the PoW block reward. All told, the cards mint a very small fraction (a little more than 1%) of the SIS and do so just to make the cards a little more interesting.

Why would you want to mine SIS? SIS will be fully supported by infrastructure that supports Breakout Chain, which is the blockchain carrying BRK,BRX, SIS, and the Deck of cards. Also SIS is required to pay transaction fees for sending cards. Other than that, SIS does not interconvert or interact with BRK or BRX and is not integral to the adoption strategies of the Breakout Coin company.

One incentive to mine SIS is that only PoW miners can collect transaction fees in any currency on the chain. PoS miners can not collect any fees, and any fees paid on transactions that enter PoS blocks are locked until a PoW miner collects them. This deferral of fee collection for PoW miners is called "fee scavenging".

It is possible that SIS could be like many other cryptocurrencies and acquire a community around it, be listed on exchanges, or accepted by some vendors. Such uses will not be actively pursued by Breakout Coin, however, but may be facilitated if these efforts align with our goals to support the infrastructure, brand building, and adoption of Breakout Chain in general.

Good info.

Do you ever plan on telling us how to mine SIS? Many people have posted here asking how to do it. We're clearly interested, but aside from "coming soon" in the OP we have no information. I'm sure some people just naturally know how but I'm not one of them.

I too have no clue to mine as per the instructions the link for the miner is not compiled. Is there a direct link to download the miner for windows?
