This coming weekend during Blue Bitcoinference Sunday 12th February from
16:00 - 20:00 hrs Matt Corallo will give a talk about ""Bitcoin: Privacy
and Censorship Resistance Beyond the Web”":

https://bitcoinference.com/2017/February/12/Sunday.html

It will take place in Hofje van Wijs, Zeedijk 43, six minutes
walking from Amsterdam Central Railway Station. Entrance is free,
registration is required(!).

Matt Corallo is Bitcoin Core Developer, and one of the founders of
Blockstream, now working for Chaincode Labs.

"In much of the western world, governments have developed the ability
to prevent individuals or organizations from accessing financial
services, with little or no court oversight or ability of those being
marginalized to challenge the rulings. Under the guise of “terrorism”
and "protecting reputations", individuals and organizations, from porn
stars, to advocates for those illegally detained in Guantanamo Bay have
found themselves unable to hold bank accounts, unable to accept
payments online, or even had their funds seized without warning by both
private and government actions. In the developing world, the situation
can be just as, if not more, extreme.

In the mean time, Bitcoin has been slowly shedding its anarchistic and
anti-establishment origins and finding places where it can provide
legitimate value within the current financial world. In this talk,
we'll cover both how Bitcoin is in a unique position to provide
activists and marginalized groups access to financial systems to ensure
they can continue their work, while still meeting requirements placed
on the financial system for reasonable law enforcement purposes. We'll
touch on a few cryptographic primitives which, when combined with
Bitcoin, can create incredibly practical and powerful tools to comply
with regulation without giving up privacy, and of course cover a few
common misconceptions about Bitcoin. "

Tuesday 24 & Wednesday 25 of May Bitcoin Blockchain Developers Workshop will take place in Baarn near Amsterdam. This will be done by Bitcoin Core developer Peter Todd.

The Workshop will be given in an intimate setting. Especially suited towards gaining deeper knowledge of the Bitcoin blockchain technology. And also how to secure this. Certificate transparency will also be covered.

There are still some Early Bird tickets available (students & artists get discount!). See our website:

http://bitcoinference.com/Bitcoin-Developers-Workshop/index.html

Attention! If you make use of our Bitcoin qouted prices, you will probably get even more discount. But this is all dependent on the value of Bitcoin(!). By using Bitcoin qouted prices we want to encourage not only using Bitcoin, but also *thinking* Bitcoin.

Please let us know if you are looking for a place to stay. So we can help you find a good location. Bed&Breakfast, hotels  are in the neighboorhood.
