BSV's actions to misrepresent Bitcoin were unacceptable. We live in a community that is vulnerable to information and fake news can harm many people.
Twitter did the right thing to block BSV activity.
After getting some from bitcoin they have the audacity to call themselves the original bitcoin lol clearly unacceptable for the bitcoin community. The main reason for that most probably is they want to market the bitcoin SV as bitcoin is at the top of the crypto market right now. Twitter did a good job as deceiving audience is a violation to their rules. Now if Bitcoin gets to have new twitter account, kindly monitor for some unacceptable actions.

If Satoshi Nakamoto appeared I think the world would be hard to accept that and few people would believe that it is the father of bitcoin. Better let the father of bitcoin be like a fairy tale.
How did we able to put Satoshi Nakamoto on this discussion lol it was just bitcoin SV being fraud in twitter  Grin

I seriously don't get it, why claiming to be Bitcoin or rather the original Bitcoin when it's obvious everyone knows the truth and real Bitcoin. I think twitter did the right thing because I see it as identity theft and hence the appropriate actions had to be taken. This is because, with them claiming to be the real Bitcoin on Twitter, taking into account there are many novice about the crypto space, they can easily believe it's the truth thus investing the wrong way. So the right thing is being done, and if they are serious about the coin, then they should do the right thing and not looking for who (newbies) to mislead.

I really don't trust and like this fork coin from bitcoin, It was purely made to make profit to its creator. I hope they all banned those so called fork and out their circulation for eternity.

I hope that the BSV folks will not take it personally as Jack Dorsey is also a known bitcoin guy.

There's a legitimate reason if their twitter has been banned. Maybe they can appeal to twitter and reinstate their account, is that possible on twitter right?

Yeah. I bet OP is being bombarded with messages right now from those BSV folks. I doubt that they will be able to appeal this though since this is a clear violation of twitter rule under Impersonation policy. They will most likely make new twitter account or use other twitter accounts.
If they will create a new account and do this again, they might get the same result.

I hope that the BSV folks will not take it personally as Jack Dorsey is also a known bitcoin guy.

Of course, they will take it personally, they are fan-atics and will defend BSV to the death and will likely attack Jack Dorsey in public.
I hope not, it's the decision made by twitter not by Jack.

If they found out that they have violated their ToS then it is banned, no reinstated. Yes, they can appeal, but I don't think that Twitter will give that handle back.
Most likely won't but they have option to make a new one but could violate again if they will do the same thing.

Accounts have been banned before and people creates new account for the same purpose and they continue what they are doing before but now with the consciousness that someone is checking on them. While this is good to send a message concerning their misrepresentation, I don't see it making any difference because alot of people in crypto might not even be following the account or aware that there is an account for it to be noticed that it's been banned.

I have mixed feelings about it. I believe in freedom of speech, and therefore can't agree with banning of social media accounts. But at the same time, this particular account was indulging in all out fraud and identity theft. Perhaps nuking the account was the only effective way of dealing with it, and to prevent scamming of unsuspecting cryptocurrency users.

Freedom of speech as a concept only applies to governments. Private parties have a full right to kick anyone out of their platform without even explaining anything. If it wasn't so, it would be a violation of platform's freedom to choose who to deal with. Social media is not some public good, it's a business like any other.

Still not hatemail, BSV trolls aren't really that numerous. Besides, it's not like I alone reported that account, it takes many reports to see a ban.

I didn't realize they had a Twitter account (well why wouldn't they), but anyway, good job!

I guess no need to reinstate their account. This is to avoid other new crypto users be deceived by wrong statements coming from the pretending original bitcoin. Newbies will just be confused with their wrong information to the public. Time to forget all these bitcoin forks that don't do any good in the community but swindle users.

I wished BSV could be banned too so no one could invest in this scam coin. I don't think they violated the  term and conditions of twitter but could be that many people would have reported this account and as a result this account is banned. Let's hope this account never becomes unban.

I rrally do not buy into this internet police of  a thing that that is going on on some of these social media. Any project can come up and tell you there are the original Bitcoin, but let the market decide, BCash, BSV, BTC are all clones and banning one because it doesn't fit into your business model is a wrong thing to do, if they can ban BSV account, that means they can ban BTC also
BTC doesn't own any official twitter accounts. Cool

No one is claiming the ownership of BTC or supermacy over all the crypto currencies but still it has been in the top so people trust the real decentralization more than the paid advertising shillers so called influencers.

Perhaps Twitter don't do any action to any accounts not unless there is a valid reason - and this I think the crypto community might have given

feedbacks of its absurd claims that is why they have taken down the account in which they found a violation against their terms of use and twitter rules.

it doesn’t surprise me, they are saying that the BS is the real bitcoin and even that name they used (satoshi’s view) you could already predict that they would cause problems and you did very well to report it. I hope this will serve as a lesson for other altcoins if they do it in the future. and note that they here at bitcointalk in the ann thread title wrote: "Original Satoshi Vision". it shows how much they are a troubled wing

If I'm right then this is the official Bitcoin account at twitter. This account was created in 2011 and it still exists until now. Also, twitter only banned BSV because it copied BTC and made fake statements that confuse many people.
I didn't know it to be honest, but still it can't be an official unless satoshi proves that he own that account so chances of having an official badge is merely zero there. I don't like forked coins as well especially BCH also trying the same things for a long time, so can we take such same action against them as well?

How Many Bitcoin Forks Are There? You will be surprised!!!. Many scam forks so would you report them all?

While I congratulate people who spend their time reporting all these scam forks, if there's indeed such people, I personally wouldn't spend so much time and effort to do so, it's not very productive.

Can you share what you used to report BSV, please.

As I said in the first post, I don't really remember the exact words I used when I wrote report, but even in their twitter name you can see this account choose to name themselves "Bitcoin", and in their posts they also kept calling BSV "Bitcoin", which is a clear attempt at misleading users.
