The problem with virwox when you are trying to do something more than buy spending money is they charge a conversion fee, a withdrawl fee, and a spread. It gets expensive fast.

. My background is in L$ so I tend to think everyone knows them. L$ are the currency of secondlife.com. It is a very stable currency and easy to exchange for many real world currencies on a myriad of exchanges. You can even exchange L$ for bitcoins on Virwox.com but their trading limits are bit low.
