Also OP make sure you aren't trading more than 10% of your current net worth. Bitcoin is highly unstable and its possible for it to crash, or rise, without notice. Its educated gambling if you want to think about it like that.

Decide yourself whether you have the cash and whether buying with your saving is going to cause a dent towards your financial status. Oh come on, if you are getting 1 btc for 280 and suddenly it drops to 250, it's not like losing 30 is going to spell the end of the world. Having said that, it doesn't mean that you should invest everything you have into something you can't afford to lose.

I gotta add: Be extremely careful if you plan on going long on leverage these days. The uptrend seems promising and may continue even stronger, but a slight dip may get you margin-called sooner than you think!

Yeah, that's very important to keep in mind, in my opinion! If you invest now (without leverage) and there's a dip, you can just wait until the price goes up again. With leverage you can theoretically end up losing all(!!!) your coins!

Don't worry, it's not gonna get to $400 this month.. the odds are that it will get back to $230..

Best idea would be to buy slow, once /twice a week make a small buy order, sit back and relax  Grin

should i wait till it drops mid 230 or buy now its giving me a headache im hopelessly confused i dont want to buy at 400 wot should i do help
I don't think its gonna drop, or at least I hope so. We went up almost 10% (maybe even more) in the past couple days from 230 to 285 I think. Price is doing good lately!
Bitcoin price is stale for 2 days now. Price around $280 seems to be a trend for now. I will be surprised if the price would drop now. I predict that it will be stable and gradually will reach $300.

Well its hard to say. The Marshal auction is yet to happen, and in the onset of the previous 2 auctions there has been a price fall right before the sale.
So we can only hope, as there are no guarantees.
Hopefully the price doesn't fall that much, imagine if in fiat the value dropped for every big auction, we need to get large enough so that auctinos like this don't affect the price at all.

From winkdex.com I see that in one day it went from 270 to 285 which is a pretty big change if you own a lot of btc. I hope it stabilizes and reaches at least 300.

Well , you will have to take a risk and make the call. Its hard to say at this point if price will keep going up or it may tank.
But I think, getting in right now is a fair decision.

Whatever you do, DO NOT BUY! It will crash right after you buy, leaving you high and dry, holding worthless bitcoins.

lol, i cant understand if ure serious or being ironic, but anyways statements like "worthless bitcoins" are totaly uncalled for, or you wouldnt be here with the rest of us.

@OP i would personaly wait with the buy for a correction of some sort, but if you have enough fiat to hold your investment for quite some time, then by all means buy and dont look at the price
for atleast a couple of months.
Even tho we just had a trend breaking rise that is to be corrected, the overall feeling im getting is that it will continue to rise later on, but for now, im first waiting that beartrap.

cheers

Buy the dips, I guess. People are anticipating a drop/consolidation at some point. We could go above $300 and should then experience some kind of drawback. ibankbtc thinks a drop is 60% probable at this point, and 1 week later we're again in the green.

Buy a little now and buy a little later if the price drops again.  Always keep some cash on hand.  1 satoshi = $0.000000275.  You don't have to go all in.

there is no moon countdown or something that indicates a pump.

You could either buy now and take some risks or wait until we consolidate in the up 300 range, so the risk of a correction back to 270 will be smaller

Do you ask other people for help with other things you do? What to have to eat? Whether to go out or not? Crossing the road? Cars coming what should you do? Cross? Wait? Curl up in a ball and cry? You need to make your own mind up on these things as anybody elses opinion is just biased based on speculation and their usually misinformed opinion. Sometimes you just need to take the plunge but only you can decide whether the time is right.
