It doesn't really matter what wallet you stored it on as long as you have your Bitcoin private key you can import that into any wallet which is supporting bitcoin gold.

yes it should be handy enough, I did it for the BItcoin/Cash fork
and it all went easily.

I just googled how to move private keys from exodus to another wallet
and there are a few youtube videos to view so there is plenty of info
readily available.

recently I stored my bitcoin on bittrex , they said will distributed BTG  Grin , are exodus wallet give us the private key ?

If you are asking if there is a way to get your private key from Exodus then yes there is.
When you have Exodus open just press the following keys  Ctrl+Shift+D and this will open the developer menu.
http://support.exodus.io/article/86-how-can-i-view-my-private-keys

Exodus.io have stated they will not be supporting the bitcoin gold fork.
it's on the support pages on their site, here is a link > http://support.exodus.io/article/150-bitcoin-gold-btg

they do state the following though:

As long as you hold the private key for your BTC, you will be able to claim
your Bitcoin Gold by exporting the private key and importing it into one of
the supported Bitcoin Gold wallets listed on the official Bitcoin Gold Website.

Well, like Exodus said, so long as you have access to your private keys you will be able to get your Bitcoin Gold, it's just going to be a little bit fiddly moving keys from wallet to wallet.

Online wallets may not support Bitcoin Gold, some wallets on the exchange are so. I recommend you save your Bitcoin in the wallet where you can hold Private Key such as Electrum, Bitcoin Core or some cold storage wallet like Trezor, Nano S. These wallets are very good, the possibility of being stolen pretty low. You can also control the total number of Bitcoins you hold because of you control private key. If you intend to use online wallets online, I do not recommend, because that you do not fully hold your private key, which is very important for you to receive Bitcoin Gold after the hardfork occurs.

There is no need to rush to get your BCG tokens, because from experience some people that rush to get their end up losing it, if your BTC is on exchnage and wallet  that will support it good but if not take your time to see your to do it right

I did something that with the Bitcoin Cash fork, rushed in and sold my Bitcoin Gold at first opportunity only to see it rocket up over the next couple of days - ah well, can't win 'em all.

Hi everyone, Ledger team, which makes Nano Ledger, has posted this: Bitcoin Gold will fork on block 491407 - just hold your BTC in a Legacy or Segwit address before. Nothing else necessary. What does Legacy or Segwit address mean? Thanks!

In the latest version of the Ledger software you can choose to hold your Bitcoin in Legacy or Segwit format. The Ledger team are just saying it doesn't matter which you choose, which is good.

After searching around and finding about 100 different opinions on where to store BTC for the October 25th fork, so as to receive the BTC Gold... I have still yet to find a solid answer.

I even messaged blockchain.info and they said they will NOT be honoring the BTC Gold. For the BTC Cash fork I just left my BTC in Poloniex and received the BTC Cash tokens as I should, but now I am seeing discussion that Poloniex, Bittrex and none of the exchanges are going to be honoring the BTC Gold fork.

So. What software wallet to store BTC in to guarantee we receive the full amount of BTC Gold after the fork?

All I can say with this things is nothing difference with the BCH, you already mentioned that blockchain, Poloniex and bittrex are not honoring Bitcoin Gold. OS what I'm gonna do with it is just keep it and storage it in my electrum wallet for awhile until the hard fork has been finish.

Coinomi Wallet is listed in bitcoin gold site and It has already a procedure to get BTG.
Check it out: https://medium.com/@coinomi/collecting-your-free-bitcoin-gold-btg-coins-da937d4255d1

You will keep your private keys.

With Electrum Wallet it should be possible also, but there is some uncertainty how could will it be done. In principle, it will be the same procedure done with bitcoin cash...

Novaexchange is also not supporting the upcoming fork.  Unlike bitcoincash, I just found out that I have those in my livecoin.  I just hope that there is clarification of what bitcoin wallet that would support the upcoming forks so that people's efforts in selling their altcoins and some who just borrowed money would pay off.
