There have been several confusions about this BTG and in my opinion, its going to cause more damage. I don't even know whether its has been forked already yet its being traded on an exchange site while the official site is saying on the 25th. Its just true that the rich will continue to get richer by the time every major wallets providers are ready for BTG the rich would have cash out while the rest of the majority will scramble for the remaining. This is a confusion of the highest order.

Most probably you should be getting bitcoin gold only for withdrawal. You can trade it in hitBTC. I don't know why yobit listed bitcoin gold before the fork. Binance and bitfinex also joined in later on.  And bitcoin gold is valued around 400$ at the moment, and now rich people will get even richer and poor people will remain the same ,as the free money would be hardly worth anything.

It's trading at $115 or 0.021BTC on Bitfinex. Unfortunately, it's not possible to arbitrage the differences on the exchanges as there is no publically available blockchain to move the BTG coins on yet.

I already posted the link to The Bittrex statement yesterday but here it is again: https://support.bittrex.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002320451-Statement-on-Bitcoin-Gold-BTG-

Quote
Statement on Bitcoin Gold BTG
If you have a Bitcoin (BTC) balance on Bittrex during the BTG snapshot block 491,407 occurring approximately on October 23, 11pm PT (6am UTC), you will be additionally credited the equivalent amount of Bitcoin Gold (BTG) on a 1:1 basis. i.e. 1 BTC on Bittrex held during the on-exchange snapshot will get you 1 BTG.  BTC held on orders will also be credited.  Only the BTC held on your account is eligible for BTG.  Full details below.

Bitcoin Gold [BTG] is a proposed digital asset.

At this time, the information and codebase presented by the Bitcoin Gold team is not in a functional state and Bittrex will not commit to opening a Bitcoin Gold trading market.

Bitcoin Gold intends to perform a wallet balance snapshot at Bitcoin block 491,407 but the actual Bitcoin Gold network will launch publicly at a later undetermined date and time (the only guidance is the statement "after the launch on Nov 1").

Bitcoin Gold does not currently have:

Fully formed consensus code
Implemented replay protection
Adequate code for testing and auditing
Publicly known code developers
Bitcoin Gold codebase also contains a private premine of 8,000 blocks (100,000 BTG). Please be aware that if a market does open there is a possibility of the developers selling their premined BTG on the open market.

When considering adding tokens to Bittrex exchange we look at the risks involved. Bitcoin Gold does not satisfy our criteria for safety for our users. Taking a snapshot of the Bittrex exchange Bitcoin wallet is also a large disruptive undertaking that requires over 24 hours of preparation (Bitcoin deposits and withdrawals are also suspended during this time) and should not be taken lightly.

Bittrex will close deposits and withdrawals of Bitcoin 24 hours prior at block 491,263 to the BTG snapshot block 491,407 occurring approximately on October 23, 11pm PT (6am UTC). If any BTC deposits you had sent to Bittrex are not settled (e.g. marked as pending) by block 491,263 you may not be credited with BTG. The wallet will remain closed until the on-exchange snapshot is complete. Trading will remain active during this time.

Bittrex will make all reasonable attempts to credit our users BTG but until we have a fully supported wallet, we can neither guarantee tokens or consider creating a market. We will continue to monitor the state of the codebase and network. We'd also like to encourage the BTG development team to reach out to us.

Based on what I read, people who hold the BTC will still receive bitcoin gold on their wallet for the exchanger. But it is not fully supported by Bittrex. But you can withdraw and deposit the exchangers who support the btg. Just like yobit. So do not worry because you also get Bitcoin Gold.

Bittrex has confirmed that users will receive the BTG and will probably have to wait until November. However, they do not allow BTG exchange, unlike the BCH. This seems to be a big obstacle for BTG.
What do you think will be the future of BTG?

Future? BTG will be dumped just like BCH and many people will used to get enough since there are some split chain already with the bits and the other next will became weak when days will past and the hype of the coin will be unnoticed so better monitor for the price growth of that coin if you have and sell it wherever you will see some huge pumps coming on that coin.

Right now it's waiting time, I have deposit my bitcoins also in bittrex when I found out that they are supporting it, I hope the moment it will be credited bitcoin gold will not dump so hard so our BTG has still a good value. I think if this will dump, the next coming Fork people will not be attracted anymore, they would rather take advantage on buying cheap altcoins which could result to a more increase of their investment than what they get of holding bitcoin in return.

Far as i know you will get your bitcoin gold anyway in bittrex, they were one of the first exchanges who said that they were going to support it and give them to the ones who where holding bitcoins before the fork.
But i think that the distribution will be between tomorrow and friday, it is a mess to distribute all the bitcoingold to the btc holders, so maybe you should be pacient with this.
Poloniex took more than 14 days to give bitcoin cash in the last fork.

There is no BTG blockchain yet -- at least not a public blockchain. The code is not public yet. The only thing that has happened is the snapshot of the UTXO set. According to their statement, they will credit users BTG and make it available for withdrawal (assuming it launches at all). They made no promises to allow trading.

I don't understand how Bitfinex is allowing trading right now. Maybe they are in communication with the developers and have confirmation that the blockchain has been launched. It seems irresponsible to let people trade when the coins may not even exist yet.

According to their official statement any BTC you keep online on Bittrex is eligible for being credited with Bitcoin gold.
When you had bitcoin on Bittrex during block 491,407 you should be credited with Bitcoin Gold so I assume it is safe to trade ATM.
But you need to know that the actual Bitcoin Gold network will launch publicly at a later undetermined date and time.

Thanks Maku.
If I read you correctly that would mean Bittrex already scanned all accounts looking for BTCs to be rewarded with Bitcoin Gold.
Is that what you are saying, that Bittrex already has identified the whole amount/accounts of BTCs to be rewarded?

Yes, You will get Bitcoin Gold. Because Bittrex supports HardFork. At the first HardFork, I kept my Bitcoin on my Bittrex wallet and I got the BCC token. And someday before Bittrex give a statement about the HardFork.

Bittrex will not support Bitcoin gold exchanges but they will allow you to withdraw soon. Yobit is currently the only exchange that I know that allows for BTG to be exchanged and withdrawn. But currently (as you can see here: https://yobit.net/en/trade/BTG/USD) it's being dumped very quickly. If you need to sell, you should do it immediately after you get your BTG.

Bitfinex too, and she has already distributed BTG

You mistake bittrex will support Bitcoin Gold, you will be additionally credited the equivalent amount of BTG on a 1:1 basis at here. I think BTG will have good future, some large exchanges accepted it, keep BTC and get BTG. Grin

its quickly been dumped as we knew that those holders who take advantage with this free money as yobit only make this possible being dumped, regarding to
bittrex I'm also waiting if they will add  this coin from their platform so we can see its real value and supporters behind.
