Have tried that before on Android phone and tablet the output is almost zero. Few faucets are more profitable.

Just think - your telephone is always on. If with special BTC miner you can mine some BTC in your telephone - why not ? But the monthly BTC profit can be very low, because telephone can not mine a lot.  Wink

No... Your battery will run out very very quickly, and also the battery life will decrease substantially.

There is an app for Windows phones that pays pps.   I can get about 3500 satoshi a day from a base Microsoft phone.  Something like 6000 from a better phone like an HTC m8 Windows.

I'm yet to find anything on android that will actually work current day.  Just a bunch of crappy faucits.

I find it extremely unlikely that you´re able to mine a cent´s worth or more  of bitcoin per  day on a phone. Maybe a cent over several years, at any rate it must be really microscopic.

This is ridiculous. A phone mining 24/7 for a year would earn .0000001 bitcoin and no pool would ever let you cash it out. On the other hand the battery +/- the phone itself would have been destroyed in the interim.

Please don't even discuss such nonsense notions.
I totally agree with you my beside it will cause your phone to heat up everytime it is mining bitcoin so definitely it's not worth the idea my pc uses 100% cpu usage mining alt coin only and I doubt if it can produce a lot of hash

oh minining with a mobile...  i think that you will spend more on recharge your battery than the cost of the few satoshis that you will receive. And its possible that you burn the telephone.

Also, you must have a good phone to even consider it, so you are risking loosing a lot of money in exchange for what? some satoshis maybe... this is definitely not a good ideia.

I dont think we should have miners in all these electronic devices. Ive already found that my electricity is too high to support mining so built into my telephone, mobile, watch and shoe im still going to end up spendnig more on the electricity to mine them than if i was to just buy them in the first place.

Lol that's an innovative idea at least we could earn some Bitcoin from telephone something is better than nothing, may in future they might come up with something like that.
Innovative? There has been an app for that for at least a year. It's not worth it in my opinion.
Your phone will overheat and it will severely reduce the lifespan of your device. Plus the amount of Bitcoins you generate is literally just dust.

There are lots of app for mining Bitcoin, like tapbot. But mining with it is just a total waste of time, you will never make anything out of it, so the best way is mining with a ASICs for bitcoin. May be graphics cards may produce profits for some alt coins of merged mining.

All these Telephone mining app may destroy the lifespan of your mobile device, you will only be getting very few amount of satoshis in a year. Like many people stated here, ASICS mining is the only viable way of mining for bitcoin. I guess bitcoin mining must be more profitable due to recent price raise.

If there is any other coin rather than bitcoin you can try, but bitcoin can destroy your phone and it does not worth mining with it.

If you want to mine any other crypto-currency, you make use of a computer with GPU, but, if you make use of telephone, you won’t be getting anything. This is ASICs era. Even with CPU or GPU mining some alt coins may give you some profit. Bitcoin must need ASICs to race for profits.

Sorry but I don't believe you can mine 3500 satochi per day from a Windows phone.  That would require over 5 Gigahash running 24 hours per day.  Can you give a link to the Windows phone miner app that can earn this much.

The Windows phone app

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/apps/bitcoin-miner/9wzdncrdhxb6

claims 400 Kilohash.  With current difficulty this would give you one or 2 satoshi a week even if running 24 hours per day.  Basically nothing over the life of the phone.

I have tried this before and it killed my phone.  I did not do it with Bitcoin, I used it for Bytecoin mining, but it caused my phone to overload and the battery to get extremely hot.  Once I rebooted the phone after the second time the battery heat shut it down, I found that it had gotten so hot that my screen was discolored and the phone would not process at all.  I had to replace my phone.

Phones were not meant to be in a pocket mining away.  No vent's getting hot is a bad combo and yes battery getting hot can be dangerous.

And I can't imagine cellular companies every coming on board.... which you really would need to go widespread.   Showing them data usage that never stops even though small for mining I'm sure they would not like if all customers did this.

The mining efficiency using phone is too long. You need to charge the battery and then use the battery to mine most of the time.

Making use of phone in Mining Bitcoin is just a total waste of time. You will end up getting your phone damaged, and also not making profit out of it. Because even computers are not enough to mine bitcoins with present difficulty levels.

I wouldn't really put down this idea yet. We have several generation of chips ahead of us, where there may be some extra energy efficient one, that would run with ease on everyday devices. If 21inc developed a "computer" for bitcoin, then why not a phone for bitcoin?
Why not? Because:

Check out the power usage of even the lowest power usb stick miners.

But on my phone I would rather it have longer life then mining all the time.  I will have items that mine in my mining area... why put it in a mobile phone?

Something with zero cooling in a pocket all day.  Using battery life.  Sounds like a really bad idea.
