Not sure where the period of 6 month lies, whether it is long or short term. But for me I'll lay the time factor aside and place more emphasis on the cryptocurrency to invest in. In my opinion I think Ethereum is a good choice. It has risen tremendously in the past week, I think it will continue to rise but relatively slow. You should also consider Dash (not to be confused with Dashcoin) too, cos that a currency with great potentials. Just my thought.
BTC and ETH is good choice and in my opinion there are many other some altcoin that has big potential like POWR, DATA, AION, OMG, WAVES, DASH. But I put my money most in AION because this project is very interesting and first in blockchain community. AION is third blockchain that will connect between different blockchain.

bitcoin is good for short and longer term of investment. etherium is a stable coin that is also good for longer term of investment, you can then add other promising coins like ripple, bitcoincash, and iota to to be able to have a solid portfolio and at the same time while maximizing your potential gains. just remember , dont put all your eggs in one basket in order to avoid loosing that much if one of your chosen coin has failed and always make bitcoin as a primary source of investment and the rest are just additions for an even extra income because bitcoin cant always sustain you a substanial gains.
Altcoins will give you a lot of profits more than that BTC and ETH can give you,ive been trading for 6months and i realized it after sometime alts gave me x1000 profits
bitcoin is the king, ETH is the second strongest, but i don't like ETH much, i would prefer to invest in bitcoin cash right now, it look more solid, it has good support from chinese
both options are good for investment.At the moment they are on the peak and personally i believe ETH will continue to grow.have your eyes also to litecoin.

I don't know that six months is a long-term or not, but in my opinion, ethereum and bitcoin are the best choices for long-term.
Some altcoins can bring good profits with daily trading, for that, you should follow the price of the coins.
I agree with you about the way of successs. And also, six month period is not a short time length maybe, but one year later, this coins may bring more amazing profits.

To me investing in ETH is potentially viable than BTC because BTC has already achieve its growth potential for the period. ETH will soar to cover the gap within this period. These two are the major players. Other coins will be dancing around them.
Now in ICO stage good coin Darico(DRC), but in conventional coin it's BCC and ETH. BTC is very old for mining and problem now, but in price it's very strong... I think future at ETH or LTC...

I think the coins you mentioned are pretty good, but I think the better coin among the others is BTC. Because BTC is the parent of all altcoins, so you should invest BTC if I think. But if for 6 months survive I think it's impossible, because there will be an increase and decrease every time and minute. so it will not last long until 6 months What is the best option for 6 months investment . always buy eth,ltc and btc then wait to get high even it's i i think still buy you need to do always buy because the price keep growing day by day,In ethereum you can buy that then sell it fast and in ltc also you can do that.For more good i think do all strategy like buy some then stock or save some incase of what will happening in the future of crypto then cash out also some.
I prefer to invest in ethereum caused the value of eth nowadays was so shocking just hold because maybe on 2018 the value will goes up and hits its unexpected value. Eth can give a brigther future for us. Goodluck

Bitcoin is still the best investment for me even if the price is dropping today I am positive that sooner it will pump again and go even much higher than the last record it breaks, 6 months is a short time from which you can actually earn good from bitcoin investment, You can also try ethereum maybe 20% of your investment who knows if it will pump as much as bitcoin do you can also get a good income.
Bitcoin is the best currency to invest for now even if its value dip I can see it will still get its value pumping after christmas and after new year . Ethereum can be one of the good crypto to invest with its popularity rise after bitcoin and many ICO that's launching is using ethereum platform . Other than the two this coins to watch out is DENT,Utrust,Litecoin,Dash and ripple.

I believe that Ethereum will rise hugely in 2018. Bitcoin will rise also but Ethereum may take over.
