Is 30 minutes too long for blockchain download? That is my target time to sync from scratch

You could use the Supernet wallet. You do not need to download the blockchain at all.

Supernet Lite is downloadable from http://www.supernet.org/download.php

Wow, does that mean there is a limit at 22 million ? Or is it definitly no limit?

I hope Azeh can clarify this point, maybe it was changed after James took over the development

I see, if that was the case, does that mean that stakers would only support the network in return for transaction fees once the limit is reached?

I suppose so, exactly like Bitcoin, but if the limit is 22millions (and everyone's staking) it would take almost 60 years to reach it. By then the fee will suffice, and the whole Btcd's platform will be so different in ways that are now unimaginable.
before July 7, 2077 we will need to figure out a reason for people to stake without the 5% staking. until then, the compounding at 5% can continue and probably past due to attrition due to lost privkeys and non-stakers.

this is not a high priority item for now

James

Ah ok so it is correct to say that for now there exist a 22 million limit?
I think that should be  definitely added to the OP again.

Yes, this is what i thought, too. i am sure that there was an upper limit once in the old opening post.

... and we didn't hallucinate Wink I found the old page in the internet archive: it says the limit was 22 millions.

How can it have 5% interest every year, AND have an upper limit?

Why not? The interest could be paid only until the upper limit is reached. It seems to me there are other coins who do this way.

It is PoS and there is no hard limit.

thanks, I have been in Btcd since september and I still believed there was an upper limit. I must have misread something in the old OP

Great to see that process is going on. Unfortunately, there is still no easy to use wallet for Macs. i need to use SuperNET client in order to store my coins.

Btw, what will be the total amount of BTCD? Currently, it is about 1,2 mln. i originally thought that BTCD is POS.

It is PoS and there is no hard limit.

BTCD's "development" stopped months ago, having been abandoned like so many other jl777 hype-and-dump projects.

Unlike BTCD's fake vapor-privacy, Monero's ring signatures have worked from Day 1.

thanks for the explanation.

Thank you for not addressing the fact that the OP is outdated, no working wallet. Happy holidays y'all!  Smiley

no working wallet?
mine is perfectly working.
Ah yes?  Can you tell me where you found that wallet then? I can't find a windows wallet-qt in the OP for staking my coins  Huh

ah, you mean the link is not working. I thought you meant the wallet is not working.
yes, the link is not working.

I am uploading the .rar file which is exactly the same file as I have downloaded it in July 2015 from OP
I have scanned the .rar with virustotal and it's completely clean
https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/6c301c9fbf521c024a80ebcca6b94bc1fe8f70b534fea82ac87da915565524e6/analysis/1450856890/

I have also scanned the .exe file
https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/c337ce4af9004275b9fc3f353111b2589bd600b957a302e93e9b39ba48d4b521/analysis/1450857040/

You can try them yourself.

Here is the wallet  link I have just uploaded. I ensure you it's the correct wallet, and I have not hidden any viruses etc in it.
if you do not trust me please do not download and wait for a BTCD team member to check it or reupload it.

Thanks bitkokos2, I've checked your upload and the hashes match, so I've replaced the OP with your link.

I'm not sure what has happened to the previous links, but might have something to do with the recent changing of the website.  Anyway, once everyone gets back from Christmas we'll get the Bitbucket download links working again.

Bitbucket wallet download links on the OP now work for Windows and Mac Smiley

Dev would be possible in Pegged Asset Exchange (PAX)for users  to issue assets or will be predeterminated assets to trade only?

Probably BTCD is one of the best actual developed coins i am buying more  i think it will get a 2 dolars value like min in 2016

I think it must be predetermined, because the code contains api that read real price feeds from various sources (from a quick look I saw yahoo-finance, quandl and the main exchanges). The various asset included in the code I see are: "BTCD", "USD", "EUR", "JPY", "GBP", "AUD", "CAD", "CHF", "NZD", "CNY", "RUB", "MXN", "BRL", "INR", "HKD", "TRY", "ZAR", "PLN", "NOK", "SEK", "DKK", "CZK", "HUF", "ILS", "KRW", "MYR", "PHP", "RON", "SGD", "THB", "BGN", "IDR", "HRK", "BTCUSD", "NXTBTC", "SuperNET", "ETHBTC", "LTCBTC", "XMRBTC", "BTSBTC", "XCPBTC", "XAUUSD", "XAGUSD", "XPTUSD", "XPDUSD", "Copper", "NGAS", "UKOil", "USOil", "Bund", "NAS100", "SPX500", "US30", "EUSTX50", "UK100", "JPN225", "GER30", "SUI30", "AUS200", "HKG33", "XAUUSD", "BTCRUB", "BTCCNY", "BTCUSD"

If it does what it seems it does I think that 2 USD in 2016 is way too pessimist, unless it get launched later in the year. I believe it's the 2nd coolest thing in crypto since Btc itself

Yes, this is correct.  The assets are predetermined and are the ones that barbierir has posted above.
