its going to be hard to develop a forum when bitcointalk exist. anyone could figure this out before starting one which is probably the reason why no one offered such. i myself have developed a forum using mybb back then but sold it to someone interested. there are tons of btc forum nowadays not to mention the altcoin forums.
This is exactly why this domain has value!
If someone ever wanted to create such a forum, it needs to at least stand out , the domain name should be generic, preferably .com and directly related to the forum´s subject. If you are starting a new forum with a domain name like bitcoindiscussionplace.com you have a handicap from the start
So BTCForums.com is a really great name, lots of forums, it is generic, it is on spot, it is a .com and most importantly..... it looks like someone is going to get a great deal
that is not true. if you create a forum this time, you'd have a hard time find a user loyal enough to stay on your forum unless bitcointalk.org dies which unlikely to happen. you'd just add up to the long list of bitcoin forum that aren't active enough.
