Be patient. If your coins are in Blockchain.info wallet, then after 2-3 months they are going to add support for BTG. You don't have to do anything. Exporting the private keys can be risky anyway. And the exchange rates are not too high to claim the coins right away. The prices have fallen by as much as 50% during the past 3-4 days.

I think many of us in here havent yet claim BTG because of the issues, so let me ask, Grin

Is it safe to claim BTG now?
Do you think its better to move all our BTC to other wallet first before retrieving BTG?
What precautions we need to do?
Any tips how to claim it?

i think if you have balance in yobit, you can directly get free bitcoin gold so you can sell it with fast. but if you don't want to claim your bitcoin gold, then i think its not be a problem and you don't have to move your bitcoin to other wallet. i think it is safe because its another free coins like bitcoin cash.

Why dont you import your btc wallet under coinomi app?  Just barrow an android phone and do the following;

...install coinomi
...Import and claimed your btg
...transfer it to exchange site,
...uninstall the app.
...Return the phone to owner.

Anyone who claim their bitcoin in exodus ?

Considering below:
Coinomi is for android users so not for all. Im using IOS.
Im not using Ledger too.

What are the other alternatives to claim it??
Most importantly is it safe to claim now and transfer in exchanges?

Why not just use that bee wallet that is like electrum but for btg? It's n their official site. It's the same procedure you take with bch claiming. Always transfer your btc to another wallet that is very safe like electrum. Next import your old key you just transferred your btc from into the btg wallet and your balance will reflect. You can now use these funds as you wish.

I haven’t bothered to claim my BTG yet, I’m keeping an eye on the price though, if it pumps I will take more interest.

this is good idea mate just keep calm and forget into your mind the btg maybe in the few months have good news for the btg into the exchange market and you can get precious profits.

It's because it started at 0.07btc and all the early people who kept there btc in supported exchanges dumped their btg. On the 1st November the official release it was at 0.05btc and was further dumped till what we sitting on now which is 0.02btc I think.

BTG really has many limitations in recent times and this is just a child of the BTC so I am sure the price can never be equal to BTC. In the future I will keep some BTG because I also hope BTG price can reach 2000 $ like BCH

I created a new wallet and transfered my BTC to the new one.
So i noticed that my BTG remained in the older wallet, so im sure that my BTC is safe.
But  i can't get my btg only with private key.

coinimi is the best way to do it, as long as you had bitcoins in an hd wallet at the time of the fork

i love the coinimi system, very powerful.

Just a followup post, just incase you get your BTG, dump it boy! Save the BTC and rebuy that BTG from the dip. #Rinse and repeat

yes it is always safer to move your bitcoins to another wallet before importing your private keys into a fork related wallet to claim the new coins. in this case bitcoin gold.

and in case you want to dump it, then it may not be the best time to do so. the dumps are already over now and price may not go much lower than this. you may want to keep something at least for the possible pump. or sell all if you don't want to take that kind of risk.

i would even say it is real gamble to not move the bitcoins before you do. On the official BTG site there was a wallet listed which was fake a stole a lot of BTC, so beware.

Is it safe to claim BTG now?
Yes, full replay protection has been applied. There is no risk in claiming your BTG now.
Of course, this requires a non-malicious software/wallet which you will use to "claim" your BTG.

Do you think its better to move all our BTC to other wallet first before retrieving BTG?
Personally, yes. I would always move my BTC out of the wallet before importing the private keys into a different software.
Those 5$ transaction fees are nothing compared to the (potential) loss of all of my funds.

What precautions we need to do?
Moving your BTC out of your wallet first is probably the most important.
You should be careful which software you use to get your BTG. Only use reputable and (if possible) open source wallet which has been reviewed.
There is always a risk with malware hidden inside a wallet software just waiting to get access to your private keys (either BTG, or in most cases: BTC).
If you are "splitting" your coins with security in mind and you are using your common sense then you can consider it safe to "claim" your BTG.

there are still many people who have not made this claim, maybe waiting for the right time until the BTG price becomes high for to sell.

At present, it is not very safe, because BTG is not stable even on the Internet, so few miners have confirmed the network, and the network security is unstable so it is not recommended to buy.
 Sad

is not stable even on the internet? i'm quite confused by this statement Cheesy
I didn't even bothered to claim my BTC gold, i don't have much interest in it, like somebody else sayd, if the price will increase i might change my mind but for sure, my main aim is for BTC, we got this coins for free, good.. but i wouldn't hold my breath waiting for BTC gold to raise.

Yeah same case with. I never bother anyway because they just make us fear that this happen and that will happen to your wallet. But sine last three to four forks I'm seeing there is no trouble from the forks except in the days of the fork when the transactions are completely stopped over the network. After the digestion is gone we can immediately retrieve the free coins by using the public keys for the wallet form the free coin wallets. Thats so easy I mean and nothing fiddles with us during that very period. :-)

1. Yes, it's safe.
2. Yes, because the wallet software that you'll use to claim BTG could potentially compromise your private keys that you now share across 2 wallets.
3. Migrate to a new BTC wallet before claiming.
