Well, trust the government authorities to muddy the waters.
What follows the announcement that these taxis are accepting bitcoins?

This!
Following the start-up’s statement, the National Bank of Hungary issued an announcement yesterday, warning about the possible risks of using bitcoin

Its good that more and more different merchants are accepting bitcoins, i didn't expect taxis as a one of the first to accept bitcoin. But its very good because lot of people will see the BTC symbol and will realize that bitcoin is growing. Nowadays people think that bitcoins can be used only on few online shops.

too bad uber is not accepting bitcoin, because they offer a cheaper and better taxis version

i don't use taxis myself too expensive, but anyway this can be good for those few that use it

i noticed that bitcoin acquires its adoption, through small business, first, in real life...

How cool is that, I'll be in Budapest next week. I usually travel by bus when I'm in a city I'm not familiar with, but I may try a taxi. Not very sure though, that taxis will be a large market for BTC. I've always paid them with cash, but if there's a sign "BTC accepted here" in hundreds of cars, that will be huge to promote and raise awareness about BTC.

Thats a great business implementation of bitcoin payment in taxis. Also in one of the finest city. If in such a manner every city gets entrepreneurs, soon the entire world adopts the bitcoin.

Good news but I wonder, how many people use Bitcoin in Budapest, in Hungary?

If people don't use bitcoin yet, then they must be offered the possibility to pay and thus get to know bitcoin. Works the other way around too.

Just don't get too much drunk on a Friday night and lose your cellphone with your Bitcoin wallet on it in one of these cabs while getting home  Grin

That's really cool and would even be more enticing to users who prefer to deal only on BTC.

This is indeed very cool!  But I would have to take a bitcoin bus to the airport and then take a bitcoin plane to Budapest, and then take the CryptocabTM to the bitcoin hashbars and thence to a Budapest hoxpital with hopes they accept btc.  Or DOGE.  Eh............................?

I didn't expect this sort of news, this soon. It's very good although as the CEO mentioned, it won't get too much attention but at least their the first to directly integrate this system into taxis with the help of COinPAY. The video that was posted on the article, was a bit fast on the part where stickers were shown on the side window of the taxi but I think there was BTCitcoin sign as well and somehow it showcases BTCitcoin even further so it's really a good news and can't wait for my country to integrate this system as well, so I can actually stop carrying physical cash with myself.

I'm far from Budapest, and i will not use my precious coins on the dirty taxis.
Let be honest bitcoin is more then money.
Maybe after few years when bitcoin become more stable.

I'm glad more and more people are coming on board. Even just announcing this lets people know more about bitcoin and how it can be useful for them. It's not just 'magic internet money for nerds' anymore.  Wink

Hehe that's in line with my ideas to get bitcoin buses. Paying with bitcoins is definitely great for the company as well as for the customer, in these fields.

I haven't pick up a bus in ages, but I remember when I was a kid, I used to hate paying unless I had one of those cards that you would use and you could use for at least a month/limit of rides, because if you had to pay with cash, I had some other kids and adults in a queue telling me to hurry up because I was always looking for the coins in my wallet and one time the coins fall on the floor, geez it was so annoying. I wish someone did this for BTC so we can simply scan our phones in a QR code and get done with it.

Not sure if bitcoin is good enough as we all know the transaction takes a little while, probably the drivers will just wait for 1 confirmation. Time is of the essence with these taxi drivers.

Great news really!
I'm from neighbor country and often visits Hungary and Budapest.
It's great to know that now I can use my bitcoin funds to pay for taxis Smiley
I wish that we have something like this in my country but, right now, it seems we have to be content that we received first Bitcoin ATM.
