I have joined in August 2020 after I informed if crypto accounts can be anonymous and I was told yes.
I placed several bets for several months without withdrawing ever. In total I deposited 350 mbtc over this period. Right now my balance is 290mbtc, meaning I have an overall loss of 60mbtc. Which is fine, it's my own fault that I lose, not complaining about that.
However, now I finally have requested my first ever withdrawal (200mbtc as I will leave the other 90mbtc on my account to keep playing with) and a couple hours later I suddenly see the funds are back on my account. I was really surprised because I thought it would go quick and easy, especially because my account status showed in green color "verified".
I go into live chat and ask why my withdrawal appears to have been cancelled. I suddenly see in my account profile that it changed to "not verified" and the live chat operator copy/pasts me the following text:
Welcome to Buff.bet.
As advised by our Risk management department, a document verification procedure of your account needs to be performed as a customer due diligence procedure.
As part of the standard customer verification procedure, we are kindly asking you to provide us with the following up-to-date (maximum 6 months old) photos of:
- the front and back sides of your ID card or passport;
- a recent utility bill or a bank statement addressed to you and sent to the address you have registered with us;
- a photo of yourself holding your ID card/passport with a handwritten present date and a “BUFF” note on a piece of white paper;
- a photo of your passport/ID card, holding it over your Buff.bet account details page.
Additionally, please type in the next email your home address and phone number so that we could update this missing information in your account details.
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards, Buff.bet Support representative - Pavel
So, despite I was informed that if you bet only in crypto, no verificaion is required, I suddenly now have to give out all my personal details. And not just some basic things, but all kinds of things as you can see above.
And this while I did not even make a profit on Buff! If I would have made a large win I would somehow still understand that a verification is required!
Also, I never took any bonus and never used a VPN/proxy to log in.
I chose Bitcoin bookies cause I value my privacy and now all this. I am very disappointed.
I hope you can check this within the management team and I hope this is all a mistake. Please let me know if all of this is necessary and if it is, it will be a big red flag for many crypto users in the future.
Oh and btw I also had a look at the openingpost of this thread and this is your rule listed there:
We understand that privacy is a significant aspect of using cryptocurrency, so on this website, you only need email, username, and password to create an account.
And a couple posts later you wrote also this:
