Any news on the wallet update? It is staking just fine, but it is eating up to 3 Gb of RAM...

We have been making excellent progress and are getting close to an official release... Did you get v2.3.1 that Alex made available to the public for testing? https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.13511046

"Trades and withdrawals will be suspended on the site indefinately until some sort of resolution can be made.

Here are our options:

1. We shut down the website and file bankruptcy, letting users file claims via the bankruptcy process and letting the court make the disbursements.

- or –

2. Somebody else comes in to purchase and run Cryptsy while also making good on requested withdrawals.

- or –

3. If somehow we are able to re-aquire the stolen funds, then we allow all withdrawal requests to process.

I’m obviously open to any other ideas people may have on this."

I guess these 100,000+ CBX stored on cryptsy is gonna be stuck for a long time. Why don't they put unaffected coins up for withdrawal?
Because #1 is the most likely option and even though all coins should be being held in a custodial fashion, my guess is that all positions will be liquidated (possibly via silk road auction?) by the bankruptcy court in order to make as many people as whole as possible.  If the losses are as staggering as they appear, all who lost will unfortunately receive just satoshis on their BTC.

That was precisely my thought when I read it. I have low cap alt coins on there that I have been unable to withdraw.

FYI- currently Banx.io is the only exchange that is updated to v2.3. If you are looking to trade / deposit / withdraw, please use Banx.io

Will update the community when the other exchanges are updated:
- Cryptopia
- Cyptsy
- YoBit

If you trade at any of the listed exchanges, please help by submitting a support ticket or tweeting the exchange to try to encourage them to upgrade to v2.3.

Thanks!

Welcome to all new Hispanic and Latino CBX holders!

I have printed a batch of Spanish recto/English verso version of the CBX promo card: same free Bulls, same promotion, same glossy finish...

If you would like to help increase the value of your CBX holding by distributing these cards to friends and family, please send me a PM with your postal address and I will send you a few cards by mail.

I still have a few of these Spanish/English Promo Cards left to distribute folks; if you want to help your CBX network, PM me your postal address and I will send you some cards to distribute!

Community assistance/suggestions needed:

One obstacle realized with the announcement and release of PoSP is a difficulty in communicating clearly and concisely what it is, what it does and why people should care. I am biased of course, but I honestly cannot think of any existing cryptocurrency algorithm that is better designed. PoSP accomplishes all of the tasks that originally attracted me to Bitcoin but in my opinion, does them better. I think most who understand PoSP now will agree with my sentiment.

So... does anyone have suggestions of how to best summarize PoSP so that people can quickly understand it?

What helped you understand PoSP when it was first explained to you?

One idea I had was a short video (30 seconds) that somehow conveys PoSP with images alone so as to avoid language barriers...

Brainstorm time.....

And now this notice at Cryptsy:

Important System Notification

Phishing Attempt:: There is a phishing attempt going around prompting users to go to a cryptsy-refund website. Do not go to this website or give your login details on any website other than the official Cryptsy website. There were two avenues of the Phishing attempt. One was via SMS, using our provider Twilio and gained entry into our logs and sending ability via a weak password on that account. The passwords on this account have been secured. The other avenue was via email using the same mailing service we use (Mailgun), but was not sent using our account. It is uncertain where the email list for this Phishing attempt was attained from, as we do not show any unauthorized access to our Mailgun account nor our internal systems. We are still investigating this matter. If you were a victim of this phishing, you should log into your account at Cryptsy immediately and do the following: 1. Change your password and enable 2fa if you don’t already have it enabled. 2. Check your pending withdrawals, we currently have withdrawals disabled so if you see one that shouldn’t be there you can request to have it cancelled. Regarding other issues that have been apparent at Cryptsy for the last couple months, I will be making another post to explain what has been happening in the next couple days. BigVern UNTIL WE ARE ABLE TO DETERMINE EXTENT OF THE PHISHING ATTEMPT, ALL WITHDRAWALS ARE PAUSED
