I would like to see many new things for the forum, because there are very important functions missing that others offer and the competition is taking away many newbies. We are all behind such an advanced technology as Bitcoin and in the forum very smart people deal with various complex topics, but unfortunately our forum simply looks backward to the outside world because simple important functions are missing and the layout does not correspond to what is expected in 2024.
Then there are even simpler, less complicated things like merit sources that are simply not appointed. I doubt it would take more than 10 minutes to appoint bullrunbro. A quick check of his profile and all the referrals should be enough, then it probably wouldn't take 2 minutes but nothing is done and I really wonder why?
The merit system is really great, but even the best watch in the world wouldn't work if just one little gear broke. You also have to pay attention to the small details.

I often wonder what Theymos's thoughts are on the state of the merit system, because he's been absolutely silent on the topic for years unless I missed one of his infrequent posts in Meta. If those two merit source members are inactive then the German board really ought to have at least one of them replaced. I haven't checked their profiles, but did they just disappear? And aside from any local boards, o_e_l_e_o is gone and probably others as well. This might be a shot-in-the-dark suggestion, but maybe you should try PMing Theymos about your application. When I wanted a name change and then started bitching about it in various threads, he told me via PM that I should have been persistent in reminding him. I don't know if he's seeing this thread or not, but it couldn't hurt to contact him directly.

As he has stated, the 2 biggest merit sources in our section are inactive and we can actually feel it in the merit distribution.
Isn't there a way to push this application so it finally get's moved forward somehow?

I support bullrun2024bro's application as merit source. With @qwk rather inactive and currently @1miao also with quite reduced activity the German local section would benefit from another merit source. Let's hope that there's some progress here in the not so far future.

Yep, you're right the current situation is quite disappointing, however I guess there isn't much we can do.

How unrelated. Being an organizer for a contest has nothing to do with corruption and merit source status. If you have something to show as to why someone must not become a source, you can show it, but going after someone for unknown personal reasons is not good, besides OP, is asking for local board, if German section has enough sources, he won't get accepted. But nevertheless it doesn't make him less worthy for a thank you, at least he is a man standing for what is right, he doesn't favour his compatriots blindly.

I didn't miss the thread. I read it (and all the other threads concerning the topic) a few days ago and acted to what I thought would be best (just see the DT changes on my account). Even though I haven't commented, I follow such issues closely and, as a DT1 member, adjust my list as I see fit. However, I hope that we can now close this topic in this application thread. But it seems that there are indeed some who are your rivals to become a source of merit, so I think @theymos are still paying attention to the prospects that you are doing so that they meet the standards desired by themmos to become a source of merit in the forum.

I also support bullrun2020bro's application because the guy is truly a wonderful member of the forum. I haven't personally been to German local board but I can say that someone like bullrun2020bro deserves to be a merit source because his intentions are pure and he will help the members of the German local board member and their posts with the Smerits he gets after getting selected as a merit source. I hope that @theymos will consider the application of bullrun2020bro's because our forum really need new merit sources and reputed members like bullrun2020bro can send merits to the posts that deserve to get merited.

The number of merits sent in the German area stands and falls of course with (active) merit sources. One of our main sources, qwk, has unfortunately been inactive for a long time and therefore has to let his sMerits expire regularly. This is not only a pity because of the expired sMerits but also mainly because of qwk's contribution quality and the very interesting and profitable discussions with him. Personally, I was able to learn a lot from him, not only bitcoin-technically, but I also learned for life, eg. how to discuss in forums in an appreciative and meaningful way.
So it would be great if we could win bullrunbro as an additional source in our forum area!

Our job is done: there is an application, dozens of votes that support this application. We can't do more - now it's time to sit back and wait!
Nevertheless, I think its fine to "push" the application quietly. Not all of the 110 merit sources have been active for a long time and this is clearly noticeable on our local board.
That's why a restructuring is conceivable - and that means valuable time and is certainly not as easy to do as simply adding a merit source.

+1, I have about 200 sMerits, and I think that more will be renewed, so quoting some posts will be useful for everyone.200 sMerits? It seems worth spending before theymos recharge your sources. But I'm sure you won't have any trouble finding ways to spend it. So for @bullrun2020bro, it's time.

Op you've done a good work here in our community and also in your local board you have my full support. I know you are the one who contributed well in your local and also you have the characteristics of a merit source you always check your local in order to help your fellow countrymen to receive enough merits. And I know once you became a merit source you will be one of the best generous giver here in our community.

According to a saying, when one joins another person to celebrate, he will also be celebrated, therefore I join others to support you to be a full time Merit Source in your local board to help the needy. My mind is also on the pipeline at my corner. I know that it will be granted unto you when the appropriate time comes. Just be patient for the boss to sort out somethings. You also remember that there is stress to be Merit Source. Just like my friend is always on the Review pages to merit post. All is determination. I wish you all the best. Sooner the newest merit source in the Germany Board and the forum at large. 
Maybe you can as well advise some of your locale members to make Applications to he merit giveaway threads or apply for a post review as the case may be so that they can get merits especially those that were due for ranking up but lacking merit while you're still awaiting to get more merits to give out in your own capacity, also concerning your merit source application, i wish you the best of luck and hope Theymos considers the number of applications already on ground sooner.

Then again, situation in German board is not the best and its obvious that amount of merit shared in their board is on the decline, with last month worst in the last few years, and one of the worst ever so they could indeed use another merit source. The only problem is that theymos usually approved new merit sources in bulk.I support OP to be chosen as one of the new source. I always support merit sources for local boards because many local members do not write in the English part of the forum and the visibility of their quality posts on the forum, as well as the possibility of getting merits for such posts, is quite limited.

True, last time theymos introduced new merit sources and adjusted smerit allocation to the existing ones, monthly number of merit shared was considerably lower than it was few years ago so it made sense for him to make that adjustment. On the other hand, current situation in that regard is very good and monthly amount of merit shared barely dropped since the latest merit adjustment so its not likely that theymos changes anything soon.Then again, situation in German board is not the best and its obvious that amount of merit shared in their board is on the decline, with last month worst in the last few years, and one of the worst ever so they could indeed use another merit source. I'm sorry you have to wait so long for the administrator's decision on your request to become a source of merit, but this is actually normal and expected, based on previous experiences.
Theymos never responds quickly to such requests, but I assume that he studies each such request and compiles a list of requests that he will approve when the right moment comes.

AFAIK, last merit source update was at July 05, 2021 Before that, it took about a year and a half to two years for the list to be updated, so the problem is not with you, but the merit sources have not been updated for a while.
Most of the merit sources who were selected from the year 2021 are still active, and there are no complaints about the difficulty of obtaining merits, so I do not think that anything will happen, at least until next July.

How many smerits per month would get you going? I haven't checked your sent merits and I'm not fit to have an opinion regarding your application. As to whether or not you should be accepted.

You are a bit late, this little drop to 110 Merit Sources has been observed since July 2022 :
1 year and I come back.
- Honestly, I did not check merit sources page in many months
- So I don't know when the latest change was made
- But the update is, currently "there are 110 merit sources with a total merit generation of up to 33989 sMerit per 30 days"
- It is minor change compares to 1 year ago, in July 2021. I guess 1 merit source was removed.

It was good to have made this bump because I had missed its application and I ended up not supporting it.
It's not that I have any influence on this matter, I must be one of the least influential legendary members of this forum. But, I like to support my teammates.
I also made an application a few months ago to be smerit, but not yet. The reasons were similar, the difference is that in the Portuguese tab, we have more active merit givers than you seem to have in the German tab. Maybe that's why you deserve it more than me, I don't know. At least he's already done more than me, which was remembering its application (I don't know if I should do it for fear of people thinking I'm boring).
But this is also just my opinion, it will have little relevance in this case. So good luck with your application and keep us updated.

Thanks for the check @cygan but unfortunately no. I guess @theymos has not even read this application yet. However that is absolutely fine, since there are way more important things when I comes to upgrading the forum.
I know other applications have sometimes taken years or still not been answered, so I'm planning for the long term haha.

If u look at his posts, u can quickly see that he is not just limited to the German local board, but is really active in all areas. All users would benefit from this - it is often the case that certain sources often only provide the locals with merit. This would not happen with him!
If you compare his post/merit ratio over this relatively short period of time, u can clearly see that he can shine with quality.

I have to say this that it has not been the first time i will be coming across your name on the forum even though I've never deemed it feet to check your profile but i believe in your ability just with the little of the threads you've posted as your best top 10 on this thread, I will like to ask you if you have a personal improvement to set in which other merit source are not considering, something new to offer, something unique to make your application a most successful one if your request is granted, what have you got to give or present different from what has already been in place as a meirt source? also accept this as not a prob but we need to know and have a glimpse of what you've got for the community which others doesn't.

Since many of their members are known as quality posters, the only explanation for that is lack of merit sources, so I am glad to see your merit source application and I would add: its about time!

It's obvious that there is a lack of merit sources on your local board and that is why I support this merit source application from bullrun2020bro.
I'm sure that theymos is actively monitoring the forum and all forum statistics, including the number of merits shared, and that he too will recognize the need to promote new merit sources.
It seems to me that theymos usually wait until more members apply for merit sources and only then he promotes new merit sources, usually once or twice a year.
So you have to be patient until then

Yes Op is not new here in our community, he is quite a good contributor here in forum his works speak who is he and for this application ill support bullrun2020bro for his merit source application. And I do hope theymos will notice this application and take any action, and also there are many merit source application still pending and waiting for the reply of theymos and it's up to him if he gonna make bullrun2020bro as a new merit source or not.

Good Luck on your application mate; i've not been seeing too many applications of late, prolly because there's a handful of users already in the waiting list and Theymos is yet to act on it, but nonetheless you have my support, and Theymos might just consider adding new merit sources next year, if he does i hope you get in.

Theymos won't do that, it is either he removes one completely from being a MS (which he hardly does), or he just appoints a new merit source, he isn't going to transfer a portion of one MS's allocation to another. 
I can also recommend Bullrun2020bro as a merit source. Always helpful and tries to write all his contributions qualitatively on the thread and to contribute. . The German area does not need any additional merits in total, but maybe you could move some of the merits from not so active qwk to Bullrun2020pro.

And that in the german speaking subboard and as you can see it also works in the international section.
So if we name an additional merit source then he would definitely be one of the top candidates.

He's frequently submitting posts in our German section has proven to be educated on various topics.
Since bullrun2020bro's posts are usually above Forum average, he's well aware what a post deserving some Merit looks like.

I also support bullrun2020bro's merit source application. He's been around for a long time and he always tries to be helpful. Another merit source would certainly be helpful for the german local board. As he says qwk is unfortunately not that active anymore and so we need a new source and i think he is the right man for it.
