I do love burst as it is an old school favorite, but I love the mainstream potential Storj offers. Real world use case of people buying storage and crypto working underneath it all. Anything that can tackle a mainstream problem and make it easily adoptable is a winner. I am trying the new Storj beta and it is so easy to use. I will update you guys on the compensation when payout comes, I have about 20 TB working at the moment.

Storage aspect is only one part of BURST...

That's is the reason why I think Burst will fail going forward, once I see a Altcoins that want to be everything, I know something is wrong somewhere. Storj team knows what they want and are pursuing that goal and have just secured $3million investment, can Burst team market their project to VCs and be able to secure that kind of funding

what are the other aspect of Burst project

BURST doesn't try to be everything to everyone ...quite the contrary.  Right now the most buzz with BURST is the HDD green mining and investing in its own Asset Exchange.  The storage aspect is down the road I believe.

The community seems to be growing wildly.  It is a coin of the people...it was not premined, no ICO... while maybe some VC money comes in, it is growing through grass roots efforts.

While I agree with you upon many aspects you mentioned but I don't think that only decentralized asset exchange can help project to survive the harsh competition. I also do not like to compare Storj and Burst as there are 2 different teams and different goals. Storj received funding via Bnktothefuture (if I'm right). It is very serious project with real use value. Burst is good because you earn by trading or holding assets on decentralized exchange. However, after careful study of it, I do not see a lot of potential of it. For now, Burst is an opportunity to make more Bitcoins by exchanging Burst coins to BTC. This could change if people will keep their coins and not sell. I mean that Burst should have value itself.

Good comments.  I agree the Asset Exchange isn't the end all be all.  But it also is one aspect to BURST.  I think most people are initially drawn by the HDD mining.  And it's not that unique but I think more efforts are going toward a BURST marketplace to buy and sell in BURST.

I guess we will disagree on BURST's potential.  I don't think you're factoring in the community and how fast it's growing.  A new site just opened 3 - 4 weeks ago (burst nation) and they will already have a few thousand unique members soon.  If you look at wallets being opened ...Dec, Jan, Feb one year ago less than 900 BURST wallets were opened.  The same time frame a year later...12,000+ wallets have been opened.  In fact Feb 2017 will see an all time high in wallets opened for a month.  And I have some other simple "analytics" that show the community is really growing.

Does this guarantee the price will skyrocket?  No, there are never guarantees.  And you're right people have to buy and hold more.  But to me in order to find a hidden crypto gem it doesn't have to be that complicated, laws of supply and demand will prevail.  To me BURST has that hidden gem potential, just my opinion.

Community support is a big factor, the community in the Burstcoin forums are one of the best, they can do many things because all of them are working hard to push Burstcoin, right now they had an investment program for the their supporters who cannot mine Burstcoin..

In my opinion Storj is much better project in terms of use case. But if you want only to mine and sell coins it is much better to choose Burst. Storj mining doesn't give you a lot of coins, so it is not very profitable. But with Burst you can get a lot of coins every week.

If Storj mining does not make a lot of money, why is the price higher than the burst.

Miners don't dictate the price of coin. It's traders who make price go up and down. People see more potential in STORJ so they invested in that coin making price higher. About mining, STORJ does not have any public mining calculator so no one is really sure what you will earn. There was a blog post by them before, and if it's still accurate BURST is more profitable for miners

What you say is a little contradictory, is not it? How can people see potential in STORJ when STORJ is not a mining calculator?
People need to be trusted to increase the value of something. Why do people trust STORJ?

STORJ, I really don't see BURST having a real penetration into storage market in future, STORJ development team is solid with constant update, recently the team announced they worn a grant from Government, this shows the level of trust they have in the team, Burst is just a free money for guys

I don't like both of them they look dead to me but if i really need to choose i would go with burst, i'm more familiar with it, also it has a cheap price and you can buy a lot and hope for the increase, mining is useless as you nedd a great amount of money invested to earn few cent

Hi,
Which one do you prefer to use for HDD mining? SJCX values in the Poloniex site seem to be more advantageous. But the Burst community is more active.

I prefer Burst,it is easy to set up and mine Burstcoin and anybody and any computer can mine it and I'm impress in their community, they are helping each other to advance the cause of Burstcoin,I'm 100% sure it's only a matter of time before it gets in the top 5.

Strong words...I largely agree.  Although no one can totally predict the future...how do you see BURST reaching these lofty heights (top 5 coin)?  Just looking for your opinion.

BURST.  Very easy to mine, great, active, helpful community. While I'm not that familiar with STORJ or the their dev team...BURST does have a very active dev team and there are supposedly a bunch of stuff about to come out....including a new user friendly hub.  A one stop shop to open wallets, mine, buy assets etc.  Big upside imo.

I watched youtuber Crytp0 install Storj software on his PC, and it seemed very intuitive to install.

Storj is far far ahead of BURST in terms of development, BURST is just a free money to mining with no usecase, STORJ has active development team and real world use case, only project that is close to Storj is SIACOIN
