Once again, thanks for your input guys.

I totally agree with your idea, that if you are serving some thing nutritious food or drinks then i dont think that parents or any other authorities will be having any problem in your setting up a shop near school.

don't take the risk if it's about your education,if you're will be punished after being caught,then avoid to do that thing
if you want to go with your first idea,don't just serve crappy unhealthy drinks or anything else,atleast serve a healthy things which could bring their parent's interest so their mummy will be fine to spend some money for the sake of their children

Most important thing would be to gain the trust of these kid's parents - else you'll be labeled a pedophile the first day you open up shop

You don't need to hurry up for doing your business but looking at your environment you can make a polling for that, what the most buying. but dealing with the negative effect you can get maybe better for talking about this to your teacher.

What? Why would I work at a place when I'm the one with the fucking idea.

It means that you just want to be a worker that is governed by the regulations of the company..?? . If that's true, then I think you will not be able to enjoy life properly. for if you merged into companies that have very long working hours then it will ruin your life. Because when this occurs, you will focus on work and not on your family.

   You budget is low for any business in my opinion. For anything you plan to open, depending from where you live, you need some documents, you need some licenses for any kind of shop, you need to pay tax for anything you do.
   If you have good spot, where people pass a lot, kids and their parents, think about just to build something and then rent it. You will not have to worry about anything, just rent it and report that and someone else with money will start some business. That is maybe safest money, what ever you build will stay for you, and when one guy get out, you can rent it again. Good Luck.

I really like your idea but there would be an issue of funding as I don't have that much money to play with for this, I have ~£100 to start out and that won't really buy an arcade machine. Thanks for your suggestion.

Instead o junk food machines maybe you will try to purchase arcade games machine or pinball and put in in front of your garage?
Kids would love that idea and you won't be targeted by their parents as 'that horrible person who sells unhealthy food to our children'.

I think the way for you to know if it is a good idea or not is try to do it. You will know if your idea is working or not and then you can have the adjustments or variations in your business along the way. It would also be good if you ask the opinion of your neighbors because they are the ones who can see your place and maybe they can even add some idea to yours and if you know someone who already did it before then try to ask him how he did it.

i think if just a small time business then you won't be needing some permit?. i think you can also add some homemade food or anything that is not bought so that it can be viewed as i said a small time business.

Hey James why you don't try your ideas? I think it is more good than looking for opinions in here, because only you who know about the condition at there. I think you can apply your ideas soon of course with low capital for first time and with you can lost it, there are not business who growing up only one minute.

Parents would pounce all over you if you try to fleece money from their kids either 1) In the form of a claw machine (lol), or 2) Via poisoning them with junk food.  I'm not saying the kids aren't deserving of you stealing their lunch money from them, but I'm telling you...parents don't like that kind of stuff.

Hello guys, I haven't been on here in a while so I thought I'd come back

So, there is a primary school on my road and every school day at 3:30 hundreds of pupils there walk up my road, usually with their parents (pupils are aged from 1-11).
My idea would be to turn my front garden or garage into a mini shop of vending machine area and maybe even a claw machine. I have done the research into purchasing the products I'd need. Of course, this wouldn't just have to be for school days, it could be run on the weekends as well. One of the flaws with this plan is that I'm not really expecting these kids to carry money with them to and from school :/ this is a big downside to my idea although once they see it I believe they could convince their parents to bring money or bring it themselves. The kind of thing I'm going for here is a store that sells snacks and drinks or a vending machine place with the odd arcade game maybe that has vending machines filled with snacks and drinks, I am leaning more towards vending machines as it would mean it'd be able to be running when I'm not at home as I go to my school 30mins away.

Another thing I thought of while writing this is starting a mobile snack and drinks store at my high school so people would place orders before I go to school in the morning and I would get the stock that people have ordered for that day and deliver the products ar school in the morning to my customer and have one of those mobile credit card readers as well. A negative is getting caught running this idea and potentially being punished at school (isolation, detention, exclusion etc.)

Anyway, what do you guys think of these two ideas? Do you think these would be worth it and what suggestions do you have?
