once asics hit big time what will be the minimum amount of hashing required to be profitable? Will just one BFL 5G be enough?

even 100mh/s can be profitable depending how much btc will cost

the difficulty will go high up to the sky, then the after a while the bitcoin exchange rates will go down

How is difficulty related to the exchange rate?

That's a good question, one I really would like the answer to

after running the new upcoming super fast miners,
the difficulty will go high up to the sky, then the after a while the bitcoin exchange rates will go down, then no body will be interested in investing in such a project.................sorry

I find their payment options for the miners frustrating they should take CC! I'am sure they have their reasons.

The most worrying thing about investing in BFL ASIC is that there is no secondary market, so no resell value if mining becomes unprofitable. If a situation occurs where you don't want your BFL unit anymore and you try to sell it, chances are no one else is going to want it. That being said, I look forward to BFL shipping me the 4 units i ordered.

Also, escaping newbie prison with this post! Cheesy

The waiting time is around 12 weeks, I figure the new SC from BFL will take a little bit longer - but I hope not! Wink

Possibly, but I'd hope anyone with any sense would note your 1 post and realize you may not know what you're talking about. Then there is the "don't trust anyone" mentality they should have here, or anywhere on the net really. Next up is your lack of citing any sources at all.

I don't mean to flame you, and I've read some of the more veteran member's takes on what these high hash/s devices will do. I fear you may be right, but as I've only just started and have all the hardware already purchased for gaming, I'm at no loss if it does tank. I'm not even out any extra for electricity as I was folding@home prior to this.

This is exciting! It's going to force GPU's out of BTC mining. Good and bad things might happen. :0P

I submitted my upgrade pre-order 2 days ago and it went through without any problems.
Paid with BTC, so no issue. I got an automated reply immediately. That was it. Nothing else. Order # 24XX for those who do the stats.
That is pretty much the same as some months back when I ordered the FPGA singles. Just one order confirmation and the waiting starts.
I found BFL responsive however, after the 6 weeks committed lead time elapsed, I sent an email and got an answer back with a modified ETA. For me, that was ok and I do not have any complaints. My units finally arrived and are busy now.

They work as expected and I would buy some more. If anyone wants to sale some from within the EU I would pay the original amount from BFL + 19% which equals my tax bill otherwise. I would do a bank transfer (no BTC left in the moment) upfront to a member with reputation.

I got my bank wire instructions on Thursday, sent out the money same day... no email back yet on final confirmation.. I'm really curious to what my position in line is, or even how many have been ordered.
