Topic: Buy BTC Now Or Wait Till Exchange Rate Drops In January? (Read 1854 times)

i think i will wait some more time as bitcoin price rose a bit before the black friday so in my opinion it should fall a bit after a few weeks then i might buy some btc

Why do you always try to explain price movements by comparing it to some dates and holidays. Not every country has a "black friday" I thought it was mainly an American thing and the most coins are bought and sold in China. Why would this black friday sale make people buy Bitcoins?   Undecided

I also think the Black Friday will have little effect. The exchange rate (bitcoin price) is also stable in January.

Wait at least until merchants/payment processors dump the Black Friday coin.

Is this tired old trope still doing the rounds? A Bitpay employee let slip that the majority of their coins go straight to OTC buyers who are waiting for them.

>Bitpay employee let slip
Hahahaha where were you wen I was selling the Brooklyn Bridge Cheesy

If you were Bitpay and had OTC customers lined up - you'd unload BTC on exchanges?

We should enter into a business partnership - I have one meelion BTC and a bridge to sell.

I would recommend waiting until January. Looking at last year, Bitcoin dropped from $350 to $167 after the holidays were over.

Bitcoin is not a very seasonal beast. At least not yet. The history is too short to get any reasonable and meaningful conclusions.
And definitely one sample from the previous year won't tell you the story for the next year.
2016 is a very different animal from 2015, mainly because of halving. we are also moving from the descending trend, thus I would expect completely different action than in the beginning of the previous year, as something more probable. Having said that, you can't rule out completely that the price will drop below $200. Although, chances for that to happen are very slim in my opinion.

its never a good time to buy btc.. its also never a good time to get into mining btc..  just stick to altcoins please.

why you say this? when the profitability is almost the same between for example litecoin and bitcoin, maybe some random altcoin can offer a good opportunity at launch, but all i see lately are coins that are launched and die in one week

what i think is that if we are here for the price increase in the long term it's always a good time to buy bitcoin no matter the price, you should concentrate on your target

Bitcoin merchand use tiers payment processor ... and it dump immediatly to create no gaps between fiat instant value and bitcoin instand value.

Loool! This made my morning haha!

If you plan to hold long-term, it's better to just average your spendings on bitcoins rather than buying in one instance.

hory shet... they also make a convenient "bagholding accessory(!)", the Bag-Mate™.  Cool

Do you honestly think a professional payment processor would fuck around with the exchanges if there was any way they could avoid it?

If you were looking to buy a decent amount of coins you would go to a well established source with a regular supply. That either means a large miner or a business with a high turnover of coins. Bitpay fits the bill.

The real lows are long gone by now.

If you plan to hold long, this is as good a time as it gets.

I do not think the exchange rate will drop in January. The price is rising slowly at the moment. There is no bad news.
