They did not accept a 100% valid Paypal payment because it's "suspicious" (yes, that was their answer)

yup... ordered the basic version. Not that I need it, selfsigned is more the enough for me, but for a handful of dollars it should be worth it. Created the csr and off it went. Now wait a bit...

errr... I see now that the cert's already been sent to me half an hour ago Grin

Thanks for your purchase Smiley

What the cheapest way to get the green https bar in browsers?

EV SSL

And could that be done using my personal name, or would I have to register as a real business like an LLC or something?

You have to register a company for EV and organization validation SSLs

@StrongServ

You're welcome, great service you're running!

I have a quick question:

What the cheapest way to get the green https bar in browsers?

And could that be done using my personal name, or would I have to register as a real business like an LLC or something?

Recommended!

Great value for starting out with SSL.

It's the first time that I've installed SSL on a site, it was easier than I expected. Weeee Smiley

ServStrong validated quickly.

Then Comodo validated within a couple of hours.

Then I fiddled with Apache for a while and:

IT WORKS!

Thanks a lot Smiley

$3.98/yr       Then when I go to Buy now the price is $4.95.

It's "from $3.98/yr" not "$3.98/yr",
Yes, it's $3.98 per year when you pay triennially

Quote
and the final payment is  0.01151549 - 5.139 $

Market prices are different

Do you know how to enable it at 1and1 or they dont allow outside ssl's and i bought it for nothing? Smiley

unfortunately no, please ask it from them

It's upsetting that we only JUST bought a 2 years EV SSL for cryptothrift.com and it's still not approved yet. If only I saw this thread last week we could've paid with Bitcoin, saved ourselves the conversion rate and $50 on top..

Ah well, added to my list of "Yay, they accept Bitcoin".
Thank you for your interest Smiley

I bought a cheap comodo ssl cert from them, activation was fast, and after one day I had to change the host and since the old host generated and kept the private keys, I had to reissue the cert which these guys did very quickly once I requested.
Thank you Smiley

I would like to have access to reissue myself without requesting though.
I'm sorry, it's not implemented yet
