While this is allowed in this forum, I am against it. Why should one "profit from others account? If someone built a account and reached legendary, he spent time around, and posted ! If we wanted to reach that level, let's help the forum evolve with our good contribution, and not just buy accounts to start participating in aignature campaigns and maybe start spamming.

Buying and selling of this forum accounts are done and if anyone founds the account they will tag with with red trust as the account is sold. So it is better to do it in secure way.

So from what I have gathered is this- 1. I should avoid buying an old handle as there is no good escrow that I can use to purchase it.
You should really avoid buying without escrow. It is very hard to purchase an account with the guarantee of a decent post quality if you don't use an escrow. I can be the escrow if you want to, as long as you can accept some of my conditions.
2. I can have multiple accounts, just should not participate in the same Sign Campaigns with these multiple accounts.
Yes.
3. As far as I am not spamming the threads using multiple accounts and actually posting relevant posts I should have nothing to worry about. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Honestly, most of the community (including me) actually condone the trading of account. Some will specifically tag it so as to notify others.

I personally do not condone the trading of accounts since most of them are eventually used for scams or spamming. Rather than purchasing an account, I would just advise you to build your account from the start. You can learn a lot more this way and can contribute effectively in the future.

I have come across a couple of posts here at bitcointalk where someone has listed Sr. member & Legendary accounts for sale.
Account Farmers. If you buy those accounts and someone links them to  as scammers/farmed accounts, they will be tagged by the DT and you will lose your money.

Is this something that is allowed and legitimate?
It is not allowed,it is not legitimate. It's not endorsed by the forum or the admins.Although you can still buy/sell but at your own risk.If the account gets banned/tagged in the process, don't expect any help from the community as nearly no one appreciates that stuff.

Also can one user have more than one bitcointalk accounts or it should be avoided?
Depends what you are planning to do with it

Scamming - NO
Shit Posting - NO
Ban Evading - NO

Bro leave this all if you want to join signature Campaign and earn some bitcoin just invest some time on bitcointalk why you waste your hard earned money.
And it gives you a good reputation too.

Others would buy because they have money. And time is money. Those who don't have money would be prefer to wait for years to earn some few satoshis because they have no choice.

You are allowed to buy an account, but almost every campaign have strict rules that prohibit a user from entering the same campaign with more than one account.

In some cases you will only get kicked, and in others campaigns, attempting to circumvent these rules will result in both accounts receiving a negative trust from a DT user.

Also can one user have more than one bitcointalk accounts or it should be avoided?
Yes its allowed. But having more than one can be seen as something shady if you do not publicly disclose that the account is yours.

I'll just clearly point out since no one has done it directly. The staffs, mods, and admins do not support this although they don't prohibit and also you can't expect reputable escrows here in the forum like Lauda for example to accept services like this. I can't really stop you to buy some accounts since its up to you but here's a friendly advice: never ever post trashily. The consequences would be ban either temporarily but most cases it is permanent or be painted red.

Even there is no specific rule about that, the purpose is prone to negative ratings. Buying bitcointalk account just for signature campaign purposes is not an appropriate thing.

It will be both useful for buyer and seller not to deal with this since; for buyer, they don't know if the account is involved in shady activity in the past therefore all sins of it will be passed to new seller no matter what , for seller, they don't know if buyer will deal carefully so scam is possible. Using escrow won't work because as far as I know there is no escrow now that accepts that kind of deal.

Hey , yes you are allowed to buy bitcointalk accounts and participate with them in signature campaign , and in anothers bounties
Also before buying an bitcointalk , I recommend you to check it first time on https://www.bctalkaccountpricer.info/
It can be banned already and you can be scammed

For the second question , I recommend you to have just only 1 account of bitcointalk that you participate with it in signature account , multi accounts can be banned

Allowed, but the Forum Mods do have restrictions on the sale and purchase of such accounts.

You'll find the rules of selling or buying used accounts here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/sales-of-accounts-and-invites-to-invite-only-sites-134779

You are allowed to buy an account, but almost every campaign have strict rules that prohibit a user from entering the same campaign with more than one account.

These are two different things and the OP doesn't talk or ask about using multiple accounts in the same signature campaign.
