More Institutional Investors Turn To Bitcoin

🔸 As part of a new research by an analyst company Chainalysis, experts have made a few interesting finds. It turns out that from late 2019 to May 2020, the share of professional investors in cryptocurrency in the US increased from 87% to 92%.

🔸 By the way, the US comes second in terms of cryptocurrency transaction volume, the first being East Asia.

🔸 North American addresses saw 14.8% of all institutional investor activity over the past year. The study notes that American investors move far greater amounts of cryptocurrency compared to investors from Europe and Asia – starting from $1 million and up. The number of such transactions has also risen over the year from 46% to 57%.

🔸 Chainalysis experts believe this data indicates that cryptocurrencies are becoming a fully-fledged asset class in their own right.

🔸 Analysts also believe that as more regulators and financial institutions gain a better understanding of the transparency advantages that cryptocurrencies offer, they will grant this part of the financial market more and more of their trust.

Bitcoin Hits $11.6K for First Time in a Year

The last time BTC surpassed $11,600 was in mid-2019 when it surged to a multi-year high of $14,000 before rejecting.

According to Michael van de Poppe, the market structure of Bitcoin would remain compelling if it holds $11,400. Stability above the $11,400 level would show that it has turned into a support level.

Analyst: Major Bull Run Has Already Started

▪️ Simon Dedic says that the recent influx of money into the crypto space is evidence that a strong bull market has already begun.

▪️ In his opinion the current climate in the crypto landscape is in many ways reminiscent of 2017’s ICO boom. A whole host of new projects are popping up, with token sales selling out in hours, especially in the decentralized finance arena. Authorities Can’t Shut Down Bitcoin

Barry Silbert, head of Grayscale Investments believes that US authorities can’t ban Bitcoin.

Silbert claims the government simply doesn’t have the power to do so!

💬 "There's enough support in DC from policy makers and regulators that Bitcoin has a right to exist and ultimately you can't shut it down", said Silbert.

He made the statements during a Grayscale investor call. The investment firm CEO also said he was “cautiously optimistic” about the future legal status of Bitcoin.

However, only time will tell how accurate is Silbert’s forecast on the matter.
