Hi guys

today i sent my bitcoins from localbitcoin to bittrex.com (Bcc wallet)(Bitcoin cash wallet) by mistake 1 bitcoin

can this be recovered i am really depressed cox thats a lot of money for me

Do bittrex hold my private keys of bcc?

I did email them a waiting for a reply

Help would be much appreciated as i dont really know about BCC
so much trouble for this one. but i see in bittrex that if you lost a huge money like that. you can contact them and they can help you with that but there is a huge pay for that. but worth it if they get it back, right?

i have same experience of this but not a lot of money, so i do not recover it. but you, you can.

I don’t think you will recover back your bitcoin which was sent to the bitcoin cash address because once the transaction has been sent and received I don’t think it is reversible. But I could be wrong though, try sending them a personal message through telegram, maybe it could help.

I did the same thing. I sent Bitcoin to Bittrex Bitcoin Cash address. it is more than 1000$. I have emailed Bittrex, no response so far.
most of the threads says it is gone. but should't there be a regulation in place for such cases.

I think theres a misunderstanding here. Correct me if Im wrong but I think youre sending the wrong currency for the wallet. I hope that you can retrieve your lost coins. Maybe you could ask the technical team of Bittrex. However if that was stated on their policies, I think your coins would be lost forever. Just like youre in london and trying to buy a beer on a store with a dollar. Thats what happened. Theyd never accept the money coz thats not fit their service and I think thats the mistake you did. I strongly suggest that you contact your wallet technical support in order to know what you should do to retrieve your lost money. Good luck!

Actually the issue isn't new to Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash holders, it's because they have the same wallet ID configuration but the issue is pretty common since the Bitcoin Cash was split from Bitcoin. That's why the birth of Bitcoin Gold is introducing the feature that just in case other currency has no way any kind of transactions in both ways.

The good thing about commercial cryptocurrency exchange is they're having customer support but when you already sent it to Bitcoin cash external wallet that Bittrex.com has no judicial part of it then it will be the disaster from you. Recovering some issues will not always give you 100 percent positive results but as long as customer support is looking for ways to reverse your transaction it would be better.

Hi Beel,

I saw your post regarding accidentally transferring btc to bcc in bittrex. I also did the same mistake yesterday and what to verify with you whether you got your issue resolved from bittrex. and how long did they take to revert back the transaction.

Thanks,
Kalyan

Generally, bittrex owners are great people until now. Unless coins are sent on an address they do not own, they will provide solutions.

they own the bcc address its thier bcc address not any third party

i am pretty sure its very easy task for them if they are willing (if i am not wrong)

They said, as it is a manual task (retrieving the key and stuff) they won't put in risk BTC of other clients for deposits of less than 5000$. I don't really understand that.

This happened to me some months ago too. Now that BTC is climbing so fast it especially hurts that they don't have a system in place to prevent things like that from happening. In my case i was using electron cash to send my BCC to bittrex and sell it. I tried that like a lot of times and wasn't working. Some days later i wanted to try again but instead opened the original electrum client (which looks exactly the same...) and send my BTC to the BCC bittrex address...

The thing that upsets me the most is why do they use different addresses for a forked chain? This would not happen on a real wallet as i would have the private keys for both chains. Also it is that difficult to program an script that credit BTC back to the bittrex BTC address for every BCC owner that has some balance (lets say 50$) on its BTC address? They could pay the transaction fee from the balance, and even take a fee for the service if they want to. A company that cares for their customers should not let this happen.

I am a little confused on this issue, mean I understand what happened but would think that there would be safeguards in place that would make it harder to do this by accident. Think wallets should look into developing safeguards that warn people based on addresses that they are sending to potential issue.

Would be interested as well to see what happened for beel as it creates a soft spot for some of these companies to snare in some extra funds that should be reconnected to the sender.

give me your cryptos
If i am not too late, you should be fine if you contact bittrex. Bitcoin Cash private keys are the exact same as Bitcoin private keys. If they are willing to take their private keys and send it to you (It requires a lot of effort to pull it off properly, since it is a huge security risk), you will get it back. Sit down and have a chat with their support.

You need to keep in mind that if they refuse to reimburse you, it's not their fault. But if they do, post it on reddit and it'll really help them out.

To make it simple for you, just imagine sending Bitcoins to an Eth address,do you think it will ever reach the destination or even accepted by the block for that matter ? It is not upto Bittrex if you broadcasted a transaction to a wrong address.
As much as I would like you to have hopes, technically I don't think it is possible.

i think you misunderstood it

its not eth to btc or btc to xrp or any

its about btc to bcc they share same private key since BTC and BCC use the same keyspace

the trascation has 45 conformations the coins are sitting in bcc wallet but nor showing why because i need the private key to retrieve them and they have it

I remember a post by Richie in Twitter and I guess he is part of Bittrex as he often post updates and warning to users of Bittrex and according to his post Bittrex will never process such a request when BTC was erroneously sent to a BCC address even if you file a ticket it will be ignored. It was posted only a few days ago.

searched on https://twitter.com/BittrexExchange

but cannot find any post bu richie posting above statement
