There is no doubt chimk is one of the best users of the forum and deserves to be a legendary member. But I don't like your idea. Becuase:
1. Chimk will surely rank up to legendary member without these merits.
2. Number of your smerits is limited.
3. You should read the posts and decide which posts deserve to be merited. you shouldn't merit a post based on previous posts made by a user.
4. Merits should be given to posts not users.
This was just my opinion. You have the right to spend your smerits however you want.

Those lists are really filter-applied shortcuts to view a specific set of profiles on the ranking-up pipeline (specifically, those mid-to-high ranks that have the necessary activity, but lack under 20% merits to reach their next rank).All those lists, nevertheless, allow you to modify the filters, and retrieve different subsets, in accordance to:
- Rank (choose 1 or n ranks)
- Segment_merit: broken down into 20% quinties.
- Segment_activity: broken down into 20% quinties.

I agree with your idea, they should get better attention from forum members. Pandukelana2712 and Hunsa QA is a member of Indonesian who has a positive contribution to us, I often get help from many of his writings.
chimk also have to get other help from members of the forum, he is very worthy to become a member of Lagendari as I mentioned in a previous post.

The top right list ("Users") shows the candidates. In order to jump to the Bitcointalk profile, click on a name from the list, and select "Go to user profile" hyperlink (click name again to deselect).
(*) Assuming entry-level 775 for Legendries (real rank will be achieved when Activity reaches the unknown personal Magical Number, which triggers the effective change of rank).
I do follow both stories like to merit posts, but I do like to merit established members as well in order to rank up... sometimes when i'm out of merit I have to wait in order to merit them and get forgotten from time to time, so when i'm replenished I could send merit for the post + additional to rank up...
I'm very active so I don't send 50 cause I have time to send in more times but I do prefer to send at least 2 merit at the time

I prefer to spend my merit when i found good post/thread rather than merit a specific user.

Nice idea, bro. I have a couple of members who've PMed me to take a look at their posts, and they're lower-ranked so I think I'm going to try to help them with some more merits, because they've made some decent posts that have gone unmerited.
But I will keep this list in mind and I will try to help them all out with some merits from time to time. I don't know when my source merits are going to get replenished, but I've got about 120 personal ones that I'm using for now. All of those Hero members on iasenko's list definitely deserve Legendary status and I'm glad he made that thread.
