I bought from them in 2013, have a few Bitcoins there.  Transfer of Bitcoins was locked at some point without my knowledge.  I have been trying to deal with customer service for over two months without any success so far and am beginning to lose hope.  Unless that changes, I would say stay away at all costs, right now I'm out over 10k (plus another 1.2k because I was unable to retrieve them before the fork).  That's a lot of money for me and my family that we may never see again.

I read so many negative reviews and reports about CampBX, such as frozen wallets, non deposit of fiat, not to talk about inability to withdraw fiat and none existent customer service.

But they have been around forever, have consistently the lowest price BTC and still seem to be in business.

has anyone had recent dealings with them? is it worth taking a punt?

thank you
if you want to buy a bitcoin better look for sites that already tercepaya than you trying to buy a new disitus that could give losing your money. you can buy bitcoin at localbitcoins, bitstamp, bitfinex.

The revolution will be monetized!
For what it's worth, I have used them and had no issues. I like that you can easily fund your account with a cashiers check. It's relatively fast and cheap. But it's been a while since I traded there.

I think the main thing that seems to attract people are the alternative deposit methods. Once upon a time they were somewhere, I seem to remember they were listed on bitcoinity, but those days are long gone. Let them die in peace without your money. I think it's one guy in his apartment running it.

If you found negative reviews all over internet and even this forum better you stop thinking using it. What actually attracts you to use their service? Low bitcoin price than market rate? If so this can also because they like to lure new buyers to scam. Personally i haven't checked their serivices but if you are only getting attracted with just a low price i suggest not to get into them.

A couple years ago, when I first got involved in bitcoin, I was opening accounts at the various exchanges, and opened an account at CampBX as well. I gave up on it pretty quickly, however, as there were too many negatives: pain in the ass to deposit fiat, unresponsive customer service, terrible liquidity. I wouldn't look again unless there was a change in ownership, or there were lots of trusted reviews citing how things have turned around there.

OP is probably looking at CampBX for possible arbitrage. I telling him many of us have looked at it before, and it is just not worth it.

I have never heard of this exchange before. when I googled it, I found some bad reviews about people get scammed or never received btc from them. someone in reddit claims they stole his funds. so stay away from them

There must be a thread about that site here in bitcointalk with positive feedback if it indeed is a reliable site.
but since you found none, then don't risk losing money there.

Yes, but their negative reviews are over a year old, haven't seen any reviews from the last 5 months, I sent them a message and they responded quite rapidly, we are they still trading if they are anywhere near as bad.

Yes, I don't want to lose money, but also somebody gotta to be using them, lets hear how current customers are being treated, surely they sold BTC in the last 48 hours........I wonder how that transaction went?

if they have a negative reviews why still bother with their service?,if i were you, i won't trying to make useless effort to make a transaction there
i would rather buying btc with a "little" bit higher price than losing money or getting into a trouble
