I think bitcoin will be the main currency for the next 5 years, it is supported by major financial institutions

This is the kind of question that will find answer only with time... If it was possible now to supplant Bitcoin, I think one of its forks already would have done it.
Now, long term investors can bet on others altcoins and wait, time will point to the winners.

(my bet is on ETH)

I do not think bitcoin can be replaced, it is the first and unique coin with limited supply and most hype, bitcoin has already achieved worldwide massive recognition and demand, im sure the next price surge is round the corner, i think btc is here to stay and it will be keeping its position for very very long time to say the least.

I think its very tough to reach their place because BTC is the one of the best crypto currency in the world also they are holding 1st positions in them market based on this if we look at the market conditions then I think ETH have this chances to compare.

Can they? They can but it would take time.
Which one? We don't have that answer yet. Whichever that may be, it should be something big.
Ethereum is still a competitor but they need to change a lot.
Mineable coins like Litecoin, BCH won't challenge bitcoin.

There are many cryptocurrencies out there, the fluctuation is wide and big. There’s a need of a coin that uses a process to stabilize its value.

No doubt that there is no other cryptocurrency or altcoin that can supersede the bitcoin. At least not for the next 5-10 years. Of course there are many rising competitors like Ethereum, ripple and litecoin.

Do you agree???
