Bitcoin drops once while Bitcoin Cash grows and people are starting to question whether Cash will surpass the original? I get that this is hypothetical, but still, this seems like an overreaction.
Personally, I don't think Bitcoin Cash can surpass Bitcoin. All it really does right now is increase the block size. I have no clue what they plan to do with the future because they sure as hell can't keep on increasing block size, but we have lightning which is theoretically one of the best solutions for scaling issues around at the moment. Once that is implemented and once kinks are ironed out, there will be no more reason to choose Bitcoin Cash over the original. We'll just have to endure the shill attacks for now.

I doubt that BCH will be able to surpass BTC. I wouldn't completely dismiss BCH, especially if you already hold coins from the fork anyway, but I doubt that BCH's scalability approach will fare well.
The problem with BCH is that feature-wise, it doesn't have anything over BTC. Most issues that BTC is facing, apply to BCH as well. If people were to actually use BCH, a notable increase in transaction fees would likely soon follow.
The one advantage that BCH has over most other alts, is that due to it being a hardfork, people that simply hold on to their coins on both sides of the fork have stakes in both sides. So there is a userbase from the get-go, many of which don't care much about whether BTC or BCH comes out on top. Whether this is enough to shift the market in favor of BCH is a different question though.

yes, it can happen, but it takes a long time, I see the BCH spreading today is rising high, so the BCH becomes the price of panic. I'm not sure if BCH will stand long.
I am not sure it will surpass its original namesake but I think it will continue to rise in value as more of the population decide to become involved with crypto

I don't think that bitcoin cash can continue increase and meet the same price of bitcoin but it might be happening in the future and meanwhile bitcoin price will increase more than now. I think it is normal if bitcoin cash increase like today because bitcoin price is down too deep and people still want to make money so they choose bitcoin cash to earn more profit. and I don't think that bitcoin cash can surpass bitcoin because I think people still hold their bitcoin to see the price back increases.

Bitcoin is becoming unusable today because of the slow transactions. There are other coins like bitcoin cash which have a nice reputation and a large community. It can happen if there will be no changes made on bitcoin.
I think it will not work. BCH will be under bitcoin, like other altcoins. bitcoin prices always fluctuate.
I am happy to see many people who invest BCH, and that I am sure BCH will be the best altcoin. maybe BCH could be a bitcoin partner. but I'm not sure BCH can pick up BTC.

BCH can pass the price of bitcoin if some community invest more money to them. but bitcoin is very unstoppable they will comeback as soon as they can because they are the pioneer of cryptocurrency and they love it so much because of its uses.
No, altscoin is still altcoin. Although bitcoin fee is very high now but the increasing price of it still become a attraction for investor. May be the price will close to bitcoin price but it will not be not be higher.
Let's just not completely rule out the possibility that every alt coin has the potential grow. I know everyone is saying that a forked coin will remain a forked and will never be the same as the original, but you can't deny it of it's potential because there will always be people who prefer to use them. Ultimately, what determines the success of a coin is its users right?
we will never know what happens in the future, maybe bitcoin cash can compete with bitcoin. but I still doubt it, because after all bitcoin cash only stole big names from bitcoin. this is the real fact. so I guess it would be very difficult to compete with bitcoins that have a stronger appeal than all the cryptoes.
There's a remote possibility, but they are a long way to go to achieve that, you can see in the market cap and the daily volume that bitcoin is far ahead from the volume, but let's see after a year more, this is an open market and everybody is aware the high transaction fee.

Yes there is always the possibility that Bitcoin Cash can surpass bitcoin or any other altcoin for that matter. It would be base on what coin will the community support and have faith. Bitcoin Cash is getting attention now and there is a rumor that it will be added to coinbase so the demand to it will go up. It has a low fee compared to bitcoin so people might think and transferring some of their funds to other altcoin in which the fees are cheap. Bitcoin has been the number cryptocurrency but there is the possibility another coin will take its throne because of some of its problems like high transaction fee and slow confirmation time.

The question is in principle not in the title, but in the functionality, convenience and ease of use of the crypto currency. The fact that bitcoin was the first crypto currency does not yet mean that it should now enjoy some advantages and that we should use it regardless of the fact that it has become slow and expensive to handle. Therefore, of course, if there is some other, best-in-class crypto currency, even, perhaps, bitkoyn cash, people will eventually use the new crypto currency, and the original bitkoyn can be gradually forgotten.
Bitcoin has first mover advantage going for it, and that's wearing thin, especially now that the founder of Bitcoin.com just publicly dumped all his BTC for BCH.

There are other more established altcoins that have better technology and use far less electricity than either BTC or BCH. They also have accomplished some really cool stuff and have great development teams and communities. I don't think it will necessarily be one coin at the top either.
A few coins I'd keep an eye on are NEM, DASH, IOTA, DNotes, DMD, STEEM. Some of these coins are way undervalued right now, which makes them good buys. Others are in the process of finally being recognized and their recent price increases are showing that.

With enough support from the community, sure! Why not? If there are enough people who truly believe in bitcoin cash as the future more than they believe that bitcoin is the future, it would only make sense that they start investing into BCC and not BTC. However, this only goes to show that my point is very loose. It can go for any altcoin. If people believe that some altcoin is worth more and is more capable of being the future, it will surpass bitcoin because of the nature of these currencies (value is found in the support of investors/peers).
