Base on the fact that people have knowledge of bitcoin now, I think the halving will skyrocket price because more people are getting into the investment and demand will keep increasing. A new ATH is possible in my eyes.
just having enough knowledge isn't enough to make bitcoin prices go up. I think we need action, and I think the current increase in the price of bitcoin is still happening slowly. however, investors are slowly investing in bitcoin, and I think the price of bitcoin will go up later this year, right after halving. However, this year I didn't really think about the price of $ 20,000, even to reach the price of $ 18,000 it has become a very good move.

Ohh really, then sir what do you think when bitcoin will cross 20k?. Can you please tell what affects will increase the price of bitcoin

End of 2020 is still far but we are at 10k level already well it got back to 9.8k level now and seems corrections are being applied there's a huge gap between market orders and I can see it still going to go down until 9.2k to 9.5k. Anyway we are just on the second month of this year I know it can reached 20k before this year ends plus lots of event are anticipated to be reason of potential surge of price especially the halving of btc which can boost its price more.

Yes, i have aslo a strong gut feeling that bitcoin will cross 20k by the end of this year

Can bitcoin Cross $20,000 by the end of 2020?
Now it is approx $10,000

It theoretically can, but no one knows if it will. If you want a more precise answer, I suggest asking your nearby fortune teller.

@GmAdvice I’ll answer yes and at the same time I’ll tell you that, it’s quiet possible that bitcoin prices may not cross $20k by the year end because of it’s volatile nature. @mk4 while I’m not a fortune teller, but I can see how it’ll go with the fortune teller as the FT will tell him the same thing like we just said here. I hope now you’ll understand that no one can predict what will happen with bitcoin prices, as we all try to make predictions based on our gut feeling. Therefore I’ll advise you to do more research about bitcoin prices, as I feel you lack the necessary knowledge regarding it.

@Juggy777 Yes you are right, i'll research more about bitcoin thanks.. Smiley

Approx. yes, it may reach $20,000 if only we can maintain the trend. But if we dump more, just as we saw today from 10k+ to 9.8K... it might be hard to really reach 20k.
A $400 drop in the price in a single day isn't exactly a good indication of what's to come in the upcoming weeks or months. In fact, such a small pullback could mean that we're bulding a strong floor before testing 10k and above very soon, so if there's a bigger dump, then there'll be some support around the current prices (9850 at the time of writing).

Also, these sort of price changes are still within the range of what many consider normal fluctuations in the cryptosphere. All in all, it's still very likely that we'll see 20k this year.
Why we consider these as normal fluctuations is because we all know how volatile the cryptocurrency markets are. I would personally not even care even if the price moves by almost $1000 in just few minutes because it is already what I expect from the cryptocurrency markets. Also, it never means that the price would start dropping just because we saw a $400 dump.

In fact, what I can observe is that the price has a initial dump before it could pump to a greater price and this is what might be happening currently. The price has started us some growth and such kind of dumps usually might occur due to the panic sellers who never have patience and sell their coins as soon as they see some good price. At the same time, some experienced traders are waiting for such dumps where they could enter the markets and than see the markets growing back again.

What link do you make between a so-called support at 10k in february and a rise till 20k before the end of the year?

IMO it will be very hard for bitcoin to reach its ATH during the next 10 months, it would represent +100% from the current price, it's a huge amount.

Moreover I don't understand why people are talking about 2017 here  Huh There was no halving in 2017!

Are you speaking in terms of this entire year? You might be expecting a way lot smaller price if you consider for long term. This year is going to bring some positive revolution after the bitcoin halving process ends. This would bring a huge price for bitcoins as even in the starting 2 months we have seen bitcoins crossing $10k so I guess bitcoins might cross $20k before the halving itself. After the halving, prices may continue to rise higher and higher. This year we could really expect the bull runs to arrive and in situation of bull runs the price quickly move higher and higher which would never take much time to reach $20k.

Demand for bitcoins will rise after the end of May 2020 which would make a lot of people invest into bitcoins. This would make the price cherish as it did last time in those bull runs. These bull runs are expected to be more huge than the ones we experienced in the year 2017.

According to the current market conditions it looks like it may go again to moon as halving is the big thing which has setup in May, I personally feel like BTC will skyrocket again. Because it's already proving the year's best investment as we are in the first quarter right now. But still anything can happen in crypto currency due to its high volatility.

Depends on what the public react to the halving. I can't exactly pin point what will happen but the year 2019 ended a bit bad where the price went down and down whereas now it is getting bigger again, not in a skyrocket motion but slowly going up which usually means there are people who are buying more bitcoins every single day compared to people who sell bitcoins, that is usually the accumulation phase of something and it scares me. Why does it scare me?

Because, if people are accumulating right now, when will they sell for profit? Will it be right after halving? Will be way after halving? When will they sell? Will they even sell or just a good investment for them? As long as we do not learn the answers to these questions, we will not make any sort of resolution for it neither.

We'd like to see bitcoin's price reach to $20k within this year but if we could notice how the market moves, it actually been hard to reach for that amount. If we could recall last 2017, there is an amazing trend but the price never touches to that certain highs $20k. Well, this year could be some sort of excitement and full thrill but I'd never think or even very optimistic that we are able to touch $20k.

I guess bitcoin price can cross $20,000 before the end of 2020, and the chance is big to break that price. But we don't know if that will happen this year or not because bitcoin price now still unpredictable, and we can only get ready for that time. If everything can run smoothly, then bitcoin can increase slowly, and bitcoin prices will hit more than $20,000.

From now on, we should be trying to make more and more profit in bitcoin so we can sell at the right time so we can make a big profit by selling the bitcoin. Perhaps, it will need the patient to make that profit, but if we keep trying, I am sure that we will have much bitcoin that will be ready to sell at the highest price.

the potential is there, even large, it's just like the current conditions, the price of bitcoin is again below the price of $ 10,000. we don't know how far bitcoin prices will go up this year, but I think the potential to reach $ 20,000 is there but it's not that big. however, I believe the price of bitcoin could be above $ 15,000 by the end of this year.

@OP why not? See, still in the month of February and Bitcoin is beyond $10,000 already. Anything can happen, no range is impossible for Bitcoin to reach. It could consistently rise more than $20,000, and It could potentially fall below $3,000. But, let's consider this year to be bullish, brought to us by the upcoming block halving, and yes we're heading towards that price level.

I expect a dump if we get close to 20.

That's always gonna be the case, specially those quick sellers who are always itchy to press the sell button when Bitcoin reached a good figure to sell.

Yes as always.

But the justification for this is that no one can tell you exactly what will be the price at end of this year. It's all about prediction and speculations.

Possibly, even more, we are already halfway and it's going strong and we are not yet in the halving week a month or two before the halving we can speculate if there is a chance for another all-time high, but right now there's a big chance that we can reach $15 before the halving, this is the best time to speculate on the best price Bitcoin and other coins can get.

Seriously--but I guess that's what this section is all about, guesswork.

I'd certainly say bitcoin is on track to hit $20k at some point this year, and I'll bet the halving (or at least the anticipation of it) will be a driving factor.  But as I've said before, I'm not hoping that bitcoin starts going haywire around May and I think $20k by the end of the year would be a more reasonable target.  2017 was a fun year for crypto, but the hangover was hell on wheels and I'd prefer to avoid a repeat of all that.

Welp, in my defence, this thread was previously on the Bitcoin Discussion section soo yea.  Grin

Same opinion though, $20,000 is quite likely I think due to the having hype. It can also be likely for us to retrace back below $20,000 of course after reaching ATHs. Though at the same time, $20,000 might be hard to break due to some psychological barrier with people wanting to sell near that price just to break even(from those who buy at the ATHs in 2017).

Maybe. It's possible in theory. But who knows?
Some analysts predict that Bitcoin will be at $100,000, another ones tell it will fall suddenly.
