With the current bear market I'm sceptical of the bulls ever coming to take charge of the crypto space. Late 2017 was great for all crypto enthusiast.

It seems that you are losing hope for this market. There is still a chance that bitcoin would be able to surpass its all-time high because there are still many events that the cryptocurrency enthusiasts are anticipating. Bitcoin always surprise and when the time comes that many people are getting discourage about the market then it would be the time when the price would be slowly creeping up.

do you see anything changed about bitcoin? of course not.
bitcoin is still the same decentralized currency that has no match in the world and it still also has the same limited supply while its demand is increasing.
there is no way to prevent the price of this permissionless currency from rising back up! you can always delay it and cause dips in short term but in the long term the market always wins.

Speaking of dips, a dip is happening now but then the buyers are slowly appearing and if you are still uncertain if it's the right time to buy then think of it for the long term. As what you say, many people are getting expose to crypto and with the same supply and increasing demand, price would eventually go up and surpass all-time high.

After the dip from 100k to 40k people will ask the same question.
That will be a brutal dip. Imagine someone buying 1BTC with his life savings for $100,000 and it drops 60% in a matter of months.

Technically it's the same as when people buy Bitcoin right now with $100,000 and it drops 60% in value, but psychologically a 60% drop meaning 1BTC loses $60,000 is different from 1BTC losing $6000 with a 60% drop at current levels.

On the other hand, if institutions gain an upper hand in this market, we may not even see corrections of that magnitude anymore. It's very likely that we'll see exchanges enforce stock market security measures.

One way or another, the market will change, and if it becomes more stable due to these changes, it's a great step forward to make Bitcoin even more usable as a currency. Stability is key.

Don't ever based on the current market behaviour just to questioned if bitcoin will ever passed again it's last all-time high price. Remember that price is volatile so anything can happened whether for a big crash or massive pump. We are talking about long-term here.

When it will happened again? Obviously no one knows that's why I used the term "long-term" here.

Good thing market behaviour like this happened so that those 2017 peepz will realized how risky entering crypto market is. Majority of newcomers last year are so optimist to the point that they are ignoring all the risks associated in putting money on crypto.

We cannot expect the price of bitcoin pass the previously reached ath, but the unpredictability with bitcoin can make anything happen in no time. The previous price pumping reaching the ath is the perfect description, because when people were speculating about $7000-$8000 everything happened in a bullet speed taking the price above $15000 in much lesser time.

Bitcoin will definitely pass the last ath. It is just a matter of time. From 2014 to 2017 it took 3 years. I suspect it wont be more then one year this time. We could easily have a new ath as soon as desember 2018.

I am 100% positive in the outcome that bitcoin will surpass previous ath, not only surpass but even double on that.  I am expecting 40000 to 50000 dollars per bitcoin in the next 4 years

Of course it can. If ever not this year since it seems impossible maybe the next following years will do. It's fine because it's an ATH if it takes time. The previous ATH also took not just a year before being break. No matter how many years it wilk take, it's fine, it's worth the wait.

If history is any indication, butcoin will likely blow past its previous all time high. We are gradually approaching the next halving and the Lightning Network is being developed, which will allow for scaling and mass adoption, and potentially for smart contracts.

prices will definitely rise again for the end of 2018 as in 2017, because I believe that price increases will be repeated every year.

I believe that the price will for sure surpass the last all time.  I'm thinking if this is an extended downturn it may take till 2020 but I do believe we will be there.

I think that a long sideways trend is imminent until it comes to new ATH again. I do not believe in a new rally like 2017 for this year.

It's definitely possible. We don't know the true ceiling of Bitcoin yet. Some say it'll get up to $100k but I think that's just wishful thinking...but then again I've been wrong on the price before.

yeah surely. I mean why not, if we compare that last years q3 with today it is good. Nothing is impossible and the market is unstable we surely can see that20k mark again. just be positive.

Doubt your doubt and if you became skeptic to bitcoin now, get off the market and have some vacation until you see something good again on the market.

You can still compare 3rd quarter of 2017 to this year and judge on what can you say. Don't just look at the ATH's and compare it with today's situation.

I believe Bitcoin will regain the old highs.  Not sure when.  Seems bears are in charge now.  Each day more and more countries are legalizing Bitcoin and millions of new people are introduced.  Over time the demand will be way up for the worlds first crypto.
I am also convinced that bitcoin will go back up like in the previous year even I am sure it will exceed from 2017 because there are still many development projects using blockchain technology done and one of them financing their project development using bitcoin.

I believe that we will not only see the positive momentum in the price but also it will cross the all-time high level in this year itself. Individual investors, big wheels and institutional investors are waiting for the momentum to get involved with cryptocurrencies at the right time, however, their process has already begun so I don't think that the market will remain bearish for a long time.

it is true that the end of 2017 is very good for all crypto, and I want to repeat at the end of 2018, and all I think will come back good.
