I don't think traditional banks will disappear, because they could just adapt their business model to this new reality. What is going to disappear for sure is their abuse of power and the massacre they do with ordinary people on exorbitant interest rates...

The banks can just use the bitcoin as well as the old fiat. There is nothing to prevent them from doing this.

I don't think that will happen anytime soon, BTC is a currency of the future but taking over place of the real currency of the world that is pretty structured currently won't be a short-term project if BTC could overthrow fiat at anytime.
yeah true, bitcoin golden age a new start to begins, it is impossible not to be used in the near future

Not anytime soon is right. According to Google, "The history of banking begins with the first prototype banks of merchants of the ancient world, which made grain loans to farmers and traders who carried goods between cities. This began around 2000 BC in Assyria and Babylonia." If its been around that long, it would take a few thousand years to get rid of it.

May be wiping out may take thousands years. But outperforming may take place within this decade itself. Bitcoin will surely beat dollars by percentage of usage and volume very soon.

With the existence of bitcoin people have started to say that banks are useless, I don't agree as banks are also important for individual and businesses, as businesses are totally dependent on the banking system and they will need support from banks for sure, for an individual I believe bitcoin is a better option.

I do not think frankly. Banks are in fact very important to the economy and people.
Many people do not even know what Bitcoins. So many people just use their own money, like US Dollar.

In some other thread like "bank or bitcoin wallet", I just see some advantageous of bitcoin wallet over bank accounts. I ask myself why I still hold my bank accounts. Definitely bitcoin is going to wipe out bank accounts.

I guess you meant this post of your mentioned thread.

Banks will stay forever because of regulations and normal business practices.

Yeah even I don't see banks disappearing very soon in future, as banks have support from the Governments and most of the people are used to banking system and it won't be easy for them to switch to bitcoins so fast as still they are not aware about the concept of bitcoins.

Yeah bank is boring one. I would expect bitcoin come arise soon. Its very transparent system no corruption or politics will not involve in anywhere.
Banking system can moniterise by anyone. We can avoid many issues from this.

There are many advantages over what you say above namely you are in complete control of your btc wallet and the other you are not. You need bank accounts to survive would be the reason i think you are looking for. There is no definitely btc will wipe banks out, quite the opposite. It is good to be optimistic but come on banks are not threatened by btc currently they control law or may as well the finances of the world, trillions in paper and precious metals etc etc say no more.

Nope bitcoin can't do that, awareness and education can! The problem is not the bitcoin but the people themself, They ask for change but fail to change themself. This what is wrong with the world and it will take time to fix this!

I think yes you are right, it will take time to fix it as the mentality of the people should be changed first, their perception towards bitcoin is not good yet, once they are aware about the benefits of bitcoins, they would surely start using it but banks will never disappear.

It seems that experts say that Bitcoin 'Here to Stay,' But Banks Could Disappear.

"TheStreet: How do you think FinTech will impact the way banks operate?

Frank Schwab: Banks either react on, or they will disappear. Anyway, the consolidation of the banking industry accelerates as the behaviour of people changes. Some banks will benefit from [FinTech], some will be pushed to the back end, and some will disappear."
http://www.thestreet.com/story/13419089/1/bitcoin-here-to-stay-but-banks-could-disappear-says-fintech-expert.html

What's your read on that?

I think that the banks will take the blockchain technology

Take over the technology or just use it for their own purposes? There's a difference there...
