I don't think Bitcoin can end poverty; maybe Bitcoin has a potential to lessen the poverty but not to end it. Poverty is a huge problem worldwide, I don't think Bitcoin is powerful enough to end it permanently.

no! cryptocurrency will not end poverty., because poverty come on the people itself, because they do nothing in order for them to earn and provide for themselves. Most people who are lazy are poor, that is why unless people become industrious.. poverty will not end.

Bitcoin can be a very powerful tool in ending the world's poverty in this our generation but it is all dependent on the persons/individuals involved. A lot have this power within their reach and not using it to liberate others but holding it to themselves. A change of heart is important to allow the free flow of wealth and not being stored up in a particular location. The end of the world's poverty begins with you and I!

Yes there are blockchain projects with this exact goal in mind. One is called Delicia and it's goal is to redistribute unused/expiring food across the world to people that are starving. Blockchain has a lot  of potential for this, but I don't think bitcoin necessarily does.

At present there are interesting projects aimed at implementing the famous Universal Basic Income through cryptocurrencies, but they are only proposals in development that still lack sufficient financial support to prosper.

Apart from these idealistic projects, I do not see a practical way in which Bitcoin can become a practical tool to combat global poverty, especially taking into account the very small market that cryptocurrencies still have, which is not enough to guarantee a fair distribution of the wealth globally.

I think this is a good point which needs to be considered by governments of various countries. With the internet, most citizens can make money from crypto and make life easier for them. This can even go a long way to reduce unemployment as people can make a lot of money from crypto and establish jobs for others to do.

Can bitcoin really do anything to solve world poverty problem? Brian Singer certainly think so. He thinks that Bitcoin can bring minimum everyday earning for people more swiftly than any other economy system.

Is it possible?

The short and only answer is no, bitcoin will not help to solve world poverty problem. Why? Because economical systems, regulations and laws are not the problem here. Humans are. People are so corrupt and flawed that they do not care about making this world a better place, they just care about themselves. That is why we will never have world without poverty, wars and terrorism. Bitcoin is nice tool but it is people who will be using it. That is the problem.

I side on the positive and would say yes. I say yes, but with the qualification of time. We can't expect that cryptocurrency is some sort of a magical potion that once you apply it to something that it would end up whatever is ailing it. It's the same as this topic, world poverty has been so entrenched in the people of the world that it can be hard to combat and stop it. You would need time and the honest cooperation of those people in power to do some good changes for the people who needs it.

The primary reason for poverty is overpopulation. Unless we are going to solve it, poverty will remain on this planet. And I don't understand how Bitcoin can help dealing with over-population. It is just ridiculous.

Poverty will remain in this world. Bitcoin cant end world poverty because there are other people really dont know on how to use bitcoin or what will be the use of this. It will depend on the other people on how they will handle there life. If they have a hardwork then they can be end there poverty as is to other people.

Good read mate. I believe it can, but you have to qualify it with time. There is no silver bullet or cure-all to get rid the world of poverty, there would always be some aspects that would hinder its eradication, and most commonly, it's the people who are in power that are secretly playing a part in prolonging the agony of those in poverty just because they want to keep the power and wealth to themselves. However, if more and more would be able to reach and learn about this market and would use it to help themselves and the country they are from, that could collectively do a chance in the world.

Just like every other thing on earth, poverty is a feature that can't be eradicated. Planning to end poverty is like planning to end the world. Poverty is needed for motivation. Bitcoin can only reduced it by enriching the early adopters but get this most early adopters are those that have some spare money to invest so let's say 70% of then were rich. So now what did BItcoin do?  Just like the first bitcoin billionaires Winklevoss twins BItcoin enrich them the more.

So it's a BIG no for me when it comes to ending poverty with bitcoin

Yes, If the people of the world unite anything is possible. Already people like Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are trying to bridge or close that gap. Bitcoin and other crypto currencies to further helpthat goal become a reality. The issue is just a moment of time.

It would be great to be like that. I think poverty is a phenomenon that bitcoin can not stop him from unfortunately.

It could be a good way for people to keep their money on a ledger that they can use to transfer it wherever they want. It could be a blessing for people without a bank account.

I don't think it could end world poverty but it is possible that it could minimize poverty because it could help unemployed individuals to have their other outlet to gain money.

I don’t think bitcoin can eliminate the world poverty but it can lessen the unemployment rate. Because the problem of poverty is the people who are lack of education and people who are greed with their powers especially the officials from the government. Most of the poor people are illiterate and they don’t know the basics in computer. Probably the unemployed people will be solved by the booming of bitcoin in a certain country.

I doubt that bitcoin can give additional income to poor people and put an end to world poverty.
