It can be benefical and it can be the inverse too. People could get into crypto-currencies because of this hype, but people could also be turned out of Bitcoin to go the Ethereum because some people are arguing for a fake crown passation or I do not know what...

Nothing will impact the bitcoin with altcoins. Etherum is increasing faster and fame among the people than bitcoin but bitcoin is the first crypto coin and potential is more than other altcoins. You can wait or see the comparison in future. bitcoin will not let it down. I hope satoshi to come and own the copyright to solve this issue.

Just thinking ...

Can somehow this ETH hype be good for BTC too at the end?
Can this help speeding up the resolution of the scaling debate?

Or when the ICO madness will be over, will the BTC gain popularity
back  as the "more secure" and "proven" tech in the cryptospace?
Well i guess that Ethereum can not beat Bitcoin, not in near future that is. Ethereum is good  cryptocurrency, but i think that even with high fees at the moment, Bitcoin is still better. And most of people that mine altcoins, later on transfer them in bitcoin, which makes bitcoin main and stronger cryptocurrency. Problem with fees of bitcoin transfer will be dealt with, it is unavoidable. There are slim chances that Ethereum will beat Bitcoin.

I think eth is good for btc. The eth price is quite soaring, and it looks like the eth price will stay high to btc. That's my opinion. But i don't know it will be good or not for btc the next one, but what I see now is yes like that.

I guess it will be good for btc as it has a domino effect, when bitcoin is rising alts are affected and I think it will different to bitcoin this time, it will have a positive result.

Or when the ICO madness will be over, will the BTC gain popularity
back  as the "more secure" and "proven" tech in the cryptospace?

Bitcoin will always be the beneficiary when alts are pumping as it is the main crypto currency.
whatever happen inside crypto world the main thing that benefits the most is value for btc since its the main currency still bitcoin so when people start pumping eth or whatever coin it is they will also pumped bitcoin as they needed to buy btc before they can buy the alts that
they wanted to support.

Just because of the hype of ETH many thinks now that it will be bad for bitcoin and there will be a chance that it will be replaced. That's why the main currency for all alt coins are bitcoin and you are right with it. But I'm thinking what if the day came that ETH will be still on hype, bitcoin will still on the seat and we'll just enjoy everything about it.

i think ethereum is good for bitcoin because as more people fall for the hype of it and then start using it, the network becomes more crowded and the problems will start to show. the fees are already pretty high at $1.5 and things aren't looking good for the currency part of it which people try hard to convince us about it being good!
and when they realize bitcoin with all its higher fees is much better they won't fall for the bullshit in the future altcoins that come out.

Probably yeah, because BTC is used as an intermediary to buy ETH almost no one uses direct money to buy ETH. I had never imagined ETH to rise this much, I think this hype will die out soon even if it doesn't I don't think it will affect BTC a lot.
It is very difficult to comment or predict something about the evening, compared to Bitcoin, but I want to say that Asher is very quickly rising in price. I can not unequivocally answer about the price, but over the past 2 weeks, the growth activity is very large.

ETH does have the potential to continue to achieve the highest value in the world of crypto currency. But I still believe that bitcoin will still be the number 1 coin that has the highest price value. ETH may be under bitcoin, but ETH will never pass the bitcoin price.

Hello!
Very goood question.

Yes I think the actual hype around Scamthereum could help Bitcoin. When the flippening happens, and it will, the media will publish it like crazy."Bitcoin not the king of the cryptos anymore" or something like that.
Weak hands and probably noobs will shift Scamthereum and other alts. Marketcap of BTC could reduce even more. Miners will feel the pressure, because with SegWit getting activated as soon as possible, all the great technologies like Schnoor, MAST, Lightning etc. could be implemented and more new innovation would be possible, which is now stalled by miners like Antpool and guys like Jihan and Bitcoin Judas!
So this might be the good thing in such a bad scenario.

In terms of ICO madness it's 50:50. When regulators step in, which will happen imo, this could have a negative effect to the whole crypto space. Also Bitcoin! People who will get burned, may leave and never come back. Others may realize that Bitcoin is the true crypto currency which goal is and always was to be a new form of money and store of value, completely decentralized and out of the reach of the powers that be. Even if it not rising 100x, 1000x etc. in a month anymore, compared with all the altcoins out there!!

Good and bad. Good because people usually start with BTC and then move to other coins and BAD because people will soon stop using BTC and start using some other coin like ETH as their "main" coin. Main coin being the coin they buy with dollars and have most of their "safe" investments in.

I think there is no one that's gonna stop using bitcoin, I really think that it is still number one we can not know about the split but let's just say it is just a risky starting point for an even big opportunity, just store your bitcoin in a safe place and it will be OK. and I think the ecosystem of bitcoin to ETH are truly remarkable, people are exchanging and trading it with some Altcoins to gain profits and I think the significant composure of bitcoin to ETH are most likely a thing, but the security of ETH is not likely safe than bitcoin right now.

I want to say yes, but...

There is some risk of it hurting crypto if people think that ETH and BTC are alike. IMO, the ETH system is no where near as robust as BTC. If the owners of ETH decide to "fix" something or change the supply, etc. Then people may find out that their smart contract tokens are not what they thought. And then think that BTC can be monkeyed with as well.

I'm not sure ETH can beat bitcoin but ETH is already good on their way. I mean bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency and the price of each coin is really high. In the other hand, ETH is also good, it will not replace bitcoin but ETH can be the second best of cryptocurrency though.

It's good long term for BTC due to increased interest in crypto, and once ETH hype dies down people will see that BTC is more decentralized, stable and secure and has the most talented developers under its belt. But short term it might be bad because when the ETH bubble pops it's going to also scare some BTC holders.

Bitcoin still is, and likely always will be, the most popular cryptocurrency by a massive margin.

Eth hype and other crypto hype is good for bitcoin in that the crypto market moves together. When eth goes up, bitcoin goes up, and vice versa. It's like stocks in that sense... when Verizon goes up, so does AT&T, and when AT&T goes up, so does Verizon.

they really doesn't have anything in common. however the eth army loves to compare it with bitcoin! which is why i say it has not that big an effect on bitcoin to begin with. it may attract some funds from bitcoin market over there and when the bubble pops they come back but not much more.

bitcoin has never lost the popularity to want to gain it back.
it never lost the security to want to gain it back, it is still the most secure blockchain out there.
it also is still the proven tech which has been working for 8+ years without any exploits...

can eth say the same with all the exploits so far!
