It is good example, of gambling that is closer to investment, than investment in something that can easily not work out, because of mistake or incorrect analysis.
In my opinion we have to separate high risk gambling (like slots machines) from low risk gambling like sports betting, and then we may find a way to agreement.
It surely depends of course. If you do play then you are so wrong about considering that one as an investment but if you do obviously invest on the house then of course it could now be considered as a high risk investment. Yes it is even if you calculated it carefully there's still some error to your calculation and not 100% . Sometimes you have to lose so you would know next time that it is wrong and remembering that lesson will make you a good bettor/gambler in the future.
From the word gambling itself we can tell that it involves not an ordinary risk but a very high risk that involves losing all your money, social aspects, relationship and even yourself. In what I observed it is a high risk investment if you are betting on a higher amount and you are not winning anything for the average of every time you bet on it. It is a high risk because you are now losing a lot of money than winning something. If you are losing, you are just wasting your time, effort and money. If you don’t know how to win it, you are risking your entire life on it.
and how can you say it is an investment if you are not gaining any profits from it, i guess my definition for investment is i'm expecting profits coming from that particular investment, so if you are gambling your money and you are not a pro and most of your bets are losing i can't consider it as investment but totally wasting time and money, maybe much better to gamble with spare btc and spare time to enjoy but not to aim gaining profits.Perhaps gambling does not fit directly into the definition of investment, but ..
I think that the risk in gambling can be compared to investment trust. If our confidence on the investment is 50/50 , we can easily say that it is a "high risk investment" - similar risk occurs when playing roulette black / red.

I dont think gambling needs very high patient more than patient it needs more a self control ,because if you can't control yourself you will lose all your money .thats more important than patient .some games are not to high risk but it needs also a control. The worst result of gambling is if you can't control yourself and you are so addicted to it.
