So after reading this thread the first time back on Page 22 or something I've now tried to only live on gambling for the past 60 days. There's been some crazy ups and downs and an emotional rollercoaster. The Mrs. has not been too happy either.

I believe I've been earning around $150-$450 on a daily basis. Been betting on Sports & eSports and I've been playing a small amount of Casino & Poker.

I have some research and some complete numbers that I can share later on when I'm at my PC. If there would be any interest.

Conclusion: Can gambling be profitable in the long term? - Absoluteley. Is it fun? - Not really, a lot of stress and pressure with a lot of highs and lows throughout the day.

I guess the stress come from the wanting to win.  When we fail to predict the right outcome, it will become frustration or when we fail in our strategy to win the game.  Though I believe gambling is profitable to those who knows the in and out of gambling rules .  Though I think being the owner of a gambling casino can give you more chance of winning or get profit in long term.
Being an owner of a casino or a gambling website surely profits, if it has got a good development team as well has a funding team to popularize and the perfect calculation in odds to have a house edge will surely profit in the long run. Same time there are gambling websites that were much popular in the beginning and went bankrupt in a short. So gambling and owning gambling websites is profitable in the long run, if the person is good to learn from mistakes.

owning an online casino is much profitable in the long run than just being an ordinary gambler. online casino make a profit through the loses of the gamblers - there has to be a winner and a loser between the 2 but, the casino owners have their special weapon to secure profit at the end of the day and that weapon is what we called house edge advantage.
That's the way to play in the gambling world. We use logic, if casino owners do not get a profit in the long run, they can go bankrupt, and if they go broke, how can we gamble in the casino again? So we also should be grateful also with such conditions.

I think you have mistakenly have a mind like that way if we have such thoughts that it's means we already know that we will lose if gambling in a long term what for we're gamble. We do not have to think about whether the casino is profitable or not, because what we have to think about is how we can win at the casino.
It's just the way I think logically. And it seems like many gamblers already know that we will not be able to win in the long run. Yes, we will not be able to win in the long run, but that does not mean we can not win. We can always win, whenever we can always, only I say once again, will not be in the long term.

For me when I played into gambling since Last Year short term is most profitable. I experience if long term I got always lose of bitcoin, if played in short term I can experience of winning. Anyway in gambling it is luck and skills to in always winning.

In gambling you shouldn't make it a long term basis as you will mostly lose for doing this type of range. Trading is better when it comes to long term plans as there are coins that are pumping unexpectedly. If you are an investor to a casino bankroll and you will just let it stay there for long term it's also one way.

Investing in the casino bankroll is a long term method to earn some cash but the outcomes are very low compared to daily trading which can be much better. Trading is better than gambling - at least you can get an edge over the market if your targets are right. But in gambling no strategy works and every EV- game means a failed strategy.

Yes the outcome is low but if you are an investor and you've been investing in the long run. You will understand a little gain is still profit. I'm saying that you can maximize your time, actually you can do trading while you have investment on bankroll and you can do even more as you don't need to monitor it.

Thats really only requires common sense on which we can able to say that casinos do really make huge profits and its really a profitable one seeing on how many gambling sites in the market, there are lots of them because they saw that its making them money because of gambler who arent tired of losing thats why making money on gambling for long term is really impossible.

I agree to you , House edge is the way of gambling site owner to make a profit from there players. Some gambling sites offers low house edge to gain many players in their sites. Gamblers can be attracted to a low house edge % like me I am one of the gambler who is attracted to it. We can win fairly with a low houseedge.

Yes it can. But take note. It is gambling, you will lose and sometimes you can win. The real question in this thread is that can gambling can last for a long time. Because in most cases gambling is profitable. But it depends on your ability in gambling, knowing strategies and such. So gambling really is profitable if you're good at it but if you suck at it then it'll not be profitable for you so stop gambling if you will just lose in gambling. Having discipline is a MUST.
For most of us it is not profitable but it is not impossible to be successful in gambling, there are smart gamblers who were able to achieve this.
If you are not smart enough then it is is expected that you will belong to the majority of losers, I myself is a loser when it comes to profitability but I had that accepted already and I am now more focus on the fun it could bring to me than the profit which is impossible for me.
well said its how you classified yourself as many belongs to losing players but there's some smart ones who able to achieve after doing some deep study and make their own research on how to take advantage some finds goods information and strategies in order to have some earnings just do it with precautions and self control might find yourself in the winning status too.

Gambling can't be profitable in the long term... It can only be profitable in the short term due to the house edge.
Indeed true and correct, It cannot be profitable at all ever. And even in a short term I also not agreed because even
You win in the games it is only because of their luck.

I don’t think that gambling can be profitable in long term. We all know that gambling games are purely based on luck, examples are dice games and lottery games. There are gambling games like poker and other betting games that are based how deep you know the game is, methods and experiences. Understanding this games gives a better chance of winning in these games compared to lottery games.

Since winning in gambling is very seldom, I really disagree that somehow it will be profitable. The chances of losing in the game are greater than the chances of winning. How can it be profitable if your winnings just act of like getting what you have loose before?

It is not unless it is EV+ and you wont be able to get those kind of game everytime. In the conclusion, there wont be any chance for us to win in the long run unless you are lucky so remember this when you play and there isnt any use of trying to delay things up. Some people love to bet longer but in fact it only reduces the chances to win

Yes, of course this would be very interesting to see.

As far as I understand you are mostly winning during the past 60 days, and although I wish you good luck and all, I don't think we can call it a "long term".

A friend of mine was winning from $20k to $50k per year in poker in the course of several years but then he started losing from $20k to $30k per year according to him, and now he is undergoing treatment for gambling addiction.

I think only several years later we can say whether it was profitable or not.

Some people will win because if everyone lose then no one want to play again. I dont think that I am the person that will win someday even if I keep on playing that is why I only choose to play for fun right now because of that. I only lose a small amount everytime I play like this and I hope that I wont get addicted more than this
