I'm putting my current balance of $72.50 on the Miami Heat moneyline, which has odds of 4.41.

Good luck!

I'm sorry for your loss. It's a pity that the series ended at the same time as your deposit.
Do you plan to analyze your bets, maybe fix something and try a similar experiment again in the future? It seems to me that your main mistake was that you violated the rule about which you yourself wrote. Rebalancing the bet size would allow you to keep at least part of the deposit.

Yeah, you're right, but it doesn't make sense to bet 5% of the total bankroll when the amount is too low. I would rather go all in since there are only a few games remaining. So, for example, in game 5 where the Nuggets could win, then I might as well risk everything I have and consider the experiment a failure if my bet losses. I'm sure I have learned a lot from this experiment, and I will try again next season right from the start of the regular season. Hopefully, by that time, I will end up with a profit.

Current balance "0" . I am closing this thread also. Thanks, guys!

As a golden rule in sports betting, bettors should only put 2% to 5% of the total bankroll into a single bet. Therefore, I will start with 5%, but since this is the playoffs and I find it easy to predict, I may also try a semi-martingale strategy.

Again, even if it is an early pick, we still have some chance to be emotional about it especially if we saw some huge lines on the underdog in which we also think that they stand a good chance against the favorites even if the lines were suggesting the opposite in the first place. The OP's written rule might do the trick but as the playoffs drags, our emotions and analysis drags as well.
Unfortunately, in the case of Miami Heat, they only managed to win 1 game and nothing follows after that.

If I were you, it's better to place a bet later when the match has started and really calculate which team has the potential to win.

It's easier said than done, mate. Honestly, I've tried that before, thinking it would be easier, but in reality, when you're live betting, you become more emotional, which can cause you to lose focus. So personally, as a sports bettor, my preference is to focus more on pregame odds, although I do engage in live betting as well.

It's a pretty big advantage if you can get a win over the Miami Heat, but that's risky because their opponent is the Nuggets, who are a pretty strong team and always get satisfying results in every match series.
If I were you, it's better to place a bet later when the match has started and really calculate which team has the potential to win.
But I still have faith that the Nuggets will be the winners.

Putting this one on my notifications list since I see this series going the full 7 games.
Just seen this thread so it is still live since we are in the heat of the finals and with your bet tonight, I can see Miami taking another one now since they stole one in Denver last game.
They odds were juiced at over 4.00x on the site you are placing bets on.
For this game, they are more or less in favor even if over the 100 mark.

My pick for the Lakers vs Nuggets game 3 is under 222  for $100.

It is a pity that you still do not conduct general statistics. What is the total number of bets already placed?
Since you requested it, I'll show the statistics after game 3 of Lakers vs Nuggets.

I see that the balance has decreased quite seriously. Is it reasonable to increase the size of the bet with such results? A couple of bad games can end your experiment ahead of time.

My goal here is to win, not to last longer but still in the losing side. If my journey ends before the NBA finals, then so be it. I'll just adjust next time and be hopeful that my strategy will work. As I mentioned earlier, I could double my bet, but it's not a total Martingale style.

Amount bet ; $50

Under 210.5 with 1.96 odds for game 1 between the Celtics and Heat.

Good luck.

The current balance is $272.5.

My pick for the Lakers vs Nuggets game 3 is under 222  for $100.

The Lakers have found a way to increase their chances of winning by being more physical in the game. They have made adjustments to their starting lineup to ensure they are not dominated by the Nuggets' big players. In fact, they led in the first half of game 2, but the Nuggets made a comeback in the fourth quarter with a big run.

Considering they are playing at home in a must-win game, it's expected that the Lakers will continue to play with physicality. However, their shooting might not improve significantly unless they draw more fouls. Given these factors, I believe the total score of 222 is still high, indicating that it is likely to hit the under. Additionally, I have placed a small bet on the total score falling within the range of 191-200 in case the game becomes exceptionally physical.

I lost 5% of my $50 because I only received $47.5 from my Denver bet, which brings my total bankroll to $422.5.

Tomorrow, my bets are Miami -6.5 and the Warriors moneyline for $50 each.
Loss both bets so my bankroll goes down to $322.50
Sad times. But that comes with martingale-ing your way into your bets, so it’s pretty much expected. Future wins should cover for these loss, provided that you’re able to still place bets in the future lmao. Anyhow I think you have a good chance of winning with this new bet. Seeing as you played it safe and moneylined Warriors who if ai must say, aren’t putting up a good performance this season. Let’s see how you’ll fare tomorrow but my money’s gonna be on Miami, no particular reason really, just wanted to spite my relatives and friends who are die-hard warriors fans
That's just how it goes. In gambling, no matter how hard we try or do an analysis in sports betting, there will still be times that we can get unlucky and lose the bets that we make but we shouldn't get discouraged easily because there are still happy times and that is when we finally win. It can happen no matter how weak we are with our analysis.

Martingale is known to be risky but he said he only do it partially, also he is doing it in sports betting where knowledge and experience in the game can matter so I guess it is fine. Anyways about the team, I am seeing a lot of memes about the golden state warriors. It's kinda funny but I think it shows that they still fully support the team.

My bankroll starts at $500, and I will update it after every result of all the games I bet on.

First bet: Philadelphia 76ers $25 x 2.10 (moneyline)

Also be careful when you bet with the martingale, you know that many people use that method and when you lose control, you won't notice that there are no funds in your balance wallet at the casino.

So good luck to you no matter what, and I hope you win and apart from that gambling responsibly is still important which as you mentioned we must do and follow the golden rules as gamblers.

Not really a tight game. The Lakers won and the points from those superstars that we've been hopeful for GSW didn't do that much honestly. Dray keeps on having those fouls until he's got no use anymore for the team. While Poole, has funny stats for this game 6 and he didn't really contribute at all. While watching Steph doing all of those in-the-middle layups trying to cover the lead but still ain't enough. Congrats Lakers!

The Lakers clearly dominated the game, and I would say they deserved the win, although they were criticized for being great floppers. But who cares? That's part of the game. Until the organization does something about it, it will always be used as part of the strategy. The Lakers sent a big message as they eliminated the defending champions, so they should feel confident in their next matchup against the Nuggets, who are the number 1 team in the West.
Nobody cares about those criticisms until they manage a win. Well, that message goes to the Denver Nuggets as they'll be the next opponent they'll be in. But will the Denver Nuggets will be afraid of that? Nah. They're a strong team and they've made it this far and as you've said, their rank is considerably better than the Lakers. In terms of speculations, the Lakers really have a place to get knocked down by the Nuggets.
But again, this is just us that we're giving those thoughts while the win of Lakers against the defending champs are still way fresh until now.
