does it make sense to download the programms on a laptop for security reasons and trade from them, instead of using the CPU with important personal information??
What do you mean by programmes? Wallets or miners?

is it worth mining any alt coins with laptop?

Isn't that what this thread is already about?  Embarrassed

Can I mine bitcoins on a laptop? If not, can I mine with any USB miner or ASIC Miner?

Also keep in mind that usb miners are not profitable as well. Your best option is to purchase bitcoins directly instead of investing in overpriced mining gear.

You can but you will gain very little, a better option
is to mine some scrypt coins.

unles its s a company laptop and you dont like your boss or
just wanna see how fast you can make it die

it would be a waste of time finanicially though

You can still mine altcoin and make some profit

technically you cmight  make some off alt coins but also burn out your cpu and need a new laptop running it 24/7
+ the cost in electriuctity maybe unnfavourable to the profits after youve factored everything in

Mine with special miners. Laptop can't mine coins to your expectation.

For the hell of it? Sure.
For profit? Not unless you have a laptop from 100 years in the future.

With the introduction of ASIC miners, even mining with high end graphics cards has become unprofitable. Some alternative cryptocurrencies may be worthwhile though.

No, you don't. Go for a USB miner, ASIC miner and more than that.

You will not make profit. Laptops heats a lot.

Yes you can mine but there is no point in doing that. You will loose money in the form of wasted electricity instead of earning BTC
You can try ASICs above 5 Gh/s though to get a decent ROI.

But you have to pay for the ASICs, and BTC price is highly volatile....

Use your laptop for running your USB miner 24/7

But if the ASIC Miner dont need host computer, use your laptop for something else, like offline armory wallet (If you dont need the laptop anymore)
