what a waste of hardware, better for you to bought a 2nd use VGA/GPU and use it for mining purpose, mining with proceccor is very slow as camel

Yes if you mine with dual core cup it will take years for you to make very little amount of money it's just waste of time better look out for some advanced mining products available in the market now.

If your CPU has AES_NI support, you can mine cryptonote coins such as Moneor or Bytecoin. It is better not to mine bitcoin with CPU.

Save yourself the wear and tear on your unit, honestly not really worth it unless you've got free electricity (or near free) and are willing to mine something obscure.  If your wanting to go that route I would take a look into gridcoin (GRC) from a profitability perspective.  I think primecoin might be another good candidate for CPU mining but not sure how profitable it is.

Bottom line, your not really going to make much of anything doing either and ultimately if you are paying for electricity what you do make more than likely won't cover the cost.

Yes, you can mine with a dual core CPU, even with a single core CPU. But the days for CPU mining have long gone, same for GPUs and FGPAs. People now mine using ASICs. Even with them, it is only profitable if you are in a region with low electricity costs or a place where electricity is free. With a dual core CPU, you're going to earn barely even dust.

i guess you could possibly mine your bitcoins with it though you would earn extremely low bitcoin amounts what wouldnt give you any profit because of the electricity costs you would get when mining it so i wouldnt even start mining bitcoins right now

You can but the earnings are zero (or near zero) so better try to use it for something else rather than for mining.

The short answer is you can. But it is not profitable to mine. It will use a lot of electricity and you will not see 0.001 bitcoin in a few years.

I know this is a very noobish question, but... Can i mine with a Dual Core 2.4ghz CPU laptop? I'm only using free bitcoin websites to earn bitcoins and then buy a good computer to invest in bitcoin mining. Also, sorry for my bad english, i'm brazilian hehe ._.

If we will focus on the question that if it's possible to mine with a dual core CPU, the answer is YES of course. It's just that it will take a decade or more to get your first 1btc thru your beloved CPU "laptop".
there's no exact number so it may be indefinite Grin anyway he will get his laptop overheated and dead before he mine his first bitcoin

ya it is correct mining in todays time is very wrong decision, you can mine but it will be loss of electricity and it is true that your laptop will also be dead due to over heat. it is better that you can  raise your rank and join a good signature campaign and earn by posting in this forum in other thread freely.

woh woh my friend @@ mining bitcoin with a quad core or even more core is obviously impossible not to mention dual core because you can stand a chance to win the ASICs and even GPU Grin I suggest mining alt coin like Bytecent coin, XDN, XMR,... CPU only coin

Yes you can mine with a dual core cpu but it isn't a cost effective way to make bitcoins.
You will be using your money and hardware's life in the end of it.

I would suggest you to join a signature campaign to earn bitcoins.

it is not recommend at all when you do not have access to extremely cheap electricity. you will make loss using dual core.
