for some reason, it seems to me that you will not receive any Bitcoin cash because too much time has passed and now they simply will not do anything. most likely this is not even technically possible because wallet snapshots were taken in 2017 and how are you going to prove after three years that you really had 5 bitcoins? just forget it. nobody will give you your bitcoin cash.

This is nonsense. It's nothing to do with time passed at all.

Everything on the blockchain prior to the fork is still there after the fork in each of the new forked chains. So anyone who had coins prior to all the forks can still claim them all.

You should because you had Bitcoins in your private wallet in a time of fork. Your lucky day, right? 1200USD profit for just holding Bitcoins in a wallet, it is time to exchange it for real BTC before BSV crash again.  Wink

My Bitcoin was in Coinbase app wallet when the BCH fork happened, I got BCH automatically by 1:1 ratio. The same thing happened when the BSV fork came, I got BSV automatically. So, if you were holding Bitcoin Cash since August 2017 and never claimed it before, then yes you can still claim your BSV!

Hello,

I had 5 BTC in my Electrum wallet at the time of the hard fork which created Bitcoin Cash in August 2017, meaning I can still claim my 5 Bitcoin Cash if I'm correct.
But can I also claim my 5 Bitcoin SV right after this? Or do I not get those 5 Bitcoin SV since I had no Bitcoin Cash at the moment of the fork in November 2018?

Anyone?
Yes you can still claim your fork, all you have to do is find wallets that support all these forks, the wallets i know of are coinomi, i did claimed mine with coinomi wallet, you can use trust or atomic as well

Yes you are right if your bitcoin cash balance is zero, when the bitcoin cash hard fork happened at November 15th 2018 you are not eligible to claim the bitcoin ABC and bitcoin SV.

BSV is a cryptocurrency created as a result of Bitcoin Cash hard fork (actually, it was introduced a little bit prior to the fork – in August 2018). On November 15th, the blockchain has officially split into two competing coins – Bitcoin ABC (Adjustable Blocksize Cap) and Bitcoin SV (Satoshi Vision).

Try to show your BTC address, or you can check it yourself here : https://blockchair.com in my opinion you will still get BSV, if you really have a balance in 2017 before august , I checked mine with findmycoins.ninja but there was an error, then I tried it with blockhcair, apparently I have BSV.

Allright so I have to download this Electron Cash wallet, then choose "use existing seed" and enter the seed phrase of my Electrum wallet which had the 5BTC on it at 1st August 2017. At the moment my balance is just a fraction of 1 mbtc so there is no risk to this IMO. All correct?

This thread is turning into a chat Cheesy

You don't have to play with seeds. I did that a long time ago but it's enough to install electron cash and then click "file" and "open" and then choose your existing wallet file from electrum. Usually it's in appdata/roaming/electrum

Also remember not to move BCH to an exchange that isn't supporting BSV for you because you will move both BCH and BSV and could lose BSV. You can use Electron SV to get SV once you have BCH and split it from BCH. BCH/SV coins don't have replay protection. Sending one will also send the other unless you split first.

Did what you told me, then a message popped up: "Cannot load wallet: this version of Electrum is too old to open this Wallet"

Okay,

I copied my current receiving address from the same wallet that had 5btc on it at the time of the 1st August 2017 Fork, but the result was 0 BTC, 0 BTCcash and 0 BTSV. What does this mean?
I'm 100% sure my balance was 5 BTC the whole day of 1st August 2017 and also the days before and after. I can proved this with a screenshot of my Electrum wallet with all transactions and dates in this.

Can you show the address here? Just copy the address and paste it in this thread.

You can always install electron cash and it will show you all your BCH if you have any. It's probably the easiest way if you already have all coins in Electrum.
https://electroncash.org/

For safety move all your Bitcoins before sending your BCH anywhere. You can use electron cash to check on the addresses but don't send any transactions until you move BTC from the addresses with BCH.

You can check the details about bitcoin hard fork coins details at below mentioned website which coins can you have the ability to claims here http://www.findmycoins.ninja/

0 Coins Founds. Coins status unknown.

What does that mean? I can see in my Electrum wallet I had 5 BTC in there at 1st August 2017 and a couple days before and after that date. And I also know 100% sure nobody else had access to this wallet and I did not claim the forked coins yet.

It appears I do not have to enter just any random BTC receiving address into that website you gave me, but a more specific address relating to the time around the fork of 1st August 2017 perhaps?

By "your bitcoin address" you mean just any random receiving address belonging to the wallet that had Bitcoins on it at 1st August 2017?
Yes. If the address had Bitcoins on it before and after that date it forked into BCH and then that BCH forked into BSV. It happened even if bitcoins were moved a few days later in August 2017. BCH remained on that address and later forked into BSV.

Also, why do you say "if you had bitcoins on your wallet before 1st August 2017? I suppose I would have to have then in my wallet AT 1st August 2017, right?
If I had 10 bitcoins on July 31st but sent them away the same day, I will not get anything from that in terms of the Bitcoin Cash Fork, right?

Yes at that exact date at #478559 so you have to check what time that was for you. If your Bitcoins were sent out on the July 31st you almost certainly don't have any forked coins but it won't hurt to paste the address to blockchair and see for yourself.

You can still claim both BCH and BSV if you had Bitcoins on your wallet before 1 August 2017. Your coins were forked anyway, you did not have to do anything but they were not split. You have to split them yourself. There are many ways to do it.

Check if you have forks to claim by typing your Bitcoin address on this site https://blockchair.com/
