You can export your Private key of BTC and import to Blockchain.info or sync wallet core!
I think you must sent with hight fee at the moment for BTC

He can do this easily if holding the private key, yet this is absolutely the wrong time for doing such transactions. They tell to wait for 30 confirmations at least and all transactions are problematic now. It's better to wait 2 more weeks to this tension calm down.

Well..I dont think this bit of Private Keys is "advertised" as much it should be.

I kept QR scans of my addresses but didnt know that i needed Private Keys too..
I even encrypted my Litecoin Wallet with password and luckily i remembered it to unlock it ..Hate to think what would happen if i forgot it.

So,right now i have wallets on PC and MAC too (for both LTC and BTC)..it is like i can have like 100's different wallets with the same Bitcoin for example if i insert the same Private Key ..
Is that right?

Well..i fell like i rescued those coins(apart from those 0.45 BTC i just cant remember sending)..from now on will spend some time learning more about it:-)

Imagine your inputs as banknotes. When you send out money, you will send out the banknote and will get back the change.
Most wallets, internally, create a new address (public + priv key) inside your wallet (wallet.dat or other files, depending on the wallet software)
I think that your 0.45 BTC is in such place. You still have that very same wallet.dat since you did that transaction, right?
Use copy/paste and try again to get the private key for
13hnDCz14BiwsFina1h17AgP8KQonJQh84
The address you wrote may have a typo, but I can't find it now on mobile.

Dear Neurotic Fish

Thanks for your help...i am not sure what is going on .
I was trying to get Private Key for my Litecoin Address and wanted to move it from my PC LITECOIN WALLET to MAC LITECOIN WALLET but was not successful

When i wanted to get Private Key for my Litecoin Address I was getting the message that Private Key ..................................... is not know (code -4) whatever that means.

When i checked On Blockchain my balance it does say 87 what is correct amount.
I did try to send 2 transactions last week of 0.50 and 0.10 just to see would it work -it did not

Now i am really worried... i have tried to google it but could not find anything to do with this code -4.
Can it be because my Wallet is old? and i received  the message that "Alert Key Compromised, upgrade required"??

I will send you picture PM ..if you have time would be grateful if you can have a look.

Thank you so much..hopefully there is a solution for this

I am quite inexperienced with Litecoin, but I'll do my best.
First of all, I'd backup wallet.dat and the whole Litecoin folder (it may be in the folder %userdata%)

Part 1. Export.
Make sure the address is correct; I am not sure, but there may be that your wallet "knows" something and the network "knows" something else because of those transactions that were not sent out. Such error could mean that you either try for the wrong address, either you forgot to unlock the wallet first.
Again, I may be wrong; you may have to ask around on https://www.reddit.com/r/litecoin/

Part 2. Upgrade.
It may be a good idea to upgrade Litecoin Qt to the latest version. As you said it's Windows, I expect the installer handle everything and after the upgrade you may even have your wallet.dat in place (if you don't, you'll use the backup).

About that error message... hmm... that worries me.
If you manage to get access to your money, I'd advise you to create a brand new wallet and send your money from the old wallet to the new one, since "key compromised" may mean that your money is not safe.

Yeah that's better idea mate and it should be followed as well so that you can be certain that your wallet is not vurnerable of being attacked by phisers. Creating a brandnew wallet is a recommended thing to do everytime we do have new gadget or other else that hampered your security on different cases. Personally I am also using new waller address everytime I was doing another transactions,  paricularly of another new bounties given like token from a successful ico.

Dear All

Hopefully someone here will be able to help me.
I have purchased some Bitcoins (2.25)and Litecoins (87) in 2013.

I kind of forgot about them and only recently i have  synchronized both wallets with network.
It was like 87 weeks behind to be precise.

In any case recently i have opened account with Coinbase.
Also i have installed Litecoin wallet on MAC

Yesterday i have send 0.50 litecoin to address to my Mac Litecoin address but nothing arrived
Also i have send 0.10 to Coinbase ...northing arrived as well

Now i am bit worried and wonder if someone can help me here.

I would like to move,if possible my BTC and LTC from PC to Mac (wallets)
Is there a way to do that...and what happened to those 2 transactions..

Is there something i am missing here...like those 2 wallets might be old..i am kind of scared that this is kind of stacked on my old PC and cant move them...is there a way around??

Would appreciate any help and advice

Thanks!

Thanks..

First i did manage to transfer 1.8 BTC to Electrum Wallet..it was straight forward..i just followed your steps and entered private keys..
Originally was thinking it would ask for address too,but only keys were required

Just checked my LTC Wallet as you suggested
It does have Locked Icon on Bottom Right saying in pop up window it is encrypted and currently locked..

God knows whats is the password..will need to guess it..

That could be the reason why is "not working"?

Did also back up.dat and Whole Folder of Litecoin to external hard drive..

JUST CHECKED IT

it looks like i encrypted private keys to my wallet-that is message i get ..
Can i undo that??

I will PM you the pic...I really dont know what i was thinking when i was buying Bitcoins and Litecoins ...i should have learn more before purchase

Can i just get new wallet ..and hope it would unlock itself

Thank you again..if In london i would like to buy you are drink:-)

NeuroticFish  Thank you very much for your answer.

I really appropriate you taking time to answer it..
Was reading your post and did manage to get private keys for 2 addresses i have.( One have 1 BTC another 0.8 BTC)

When we'll have all addresses and the sum of Bitcoin on them is the one you expect then it will be all right.

Right now my BTC Wallet is again "Synchronizing with network" saying 4 weeks behind
I assume it takes this long because my PC is 7 years old although i do have very fast internet.

I'll assume that it's because you have an old version of Bitcoin QT....

Is it wise to wait Synchronizing to finish before exporting BTC to Electrum.?
Or i can do it straight away.

Also i am not able to add BTC address 13hnDCz14BiwsFina1h17AgP8KQonJQh8 to the wallet, probably because is still Synchronizing too.

It is like it takes 1 day approx for 1 week..
That is the address where according to Blockchain i sent 0.45 BTC .

Well i guess i didn't open my wallets for like 4 years few days up or down does not make difference.

You can import them now into Electrum or wait. If you import them now you'll have one wallet with 1.8 BTC.
When you get the rest of private keys you can do this again and make a wallet with all the key or a wallet only with the "latecomers".
However, I recommend however, when all this ends, to make in Electrum one more wallet; the new wallet will have some seed words you'll have to write down; the new wallet has more addresses and that'll make it a little safer.

But i am thinking to transfer LTC to my wallet on MAC .I did download the same wallet called Litecoin QT but now i learnt on Youtube there is also one Electum for Litecoin?

Maybe is easier if i use same platform for both.(for Litecoin i only have one address)

"Same platform" caught my eye. Eletrum and Electrum for Litecoin although look similar, they are different programs; make sure you don't mix them. Keep bitcoin (and keys) on electrum and litecoin on Electrum for litecoin.
The export/import should be similar and same rules apply. Just again, don't mix them up. Litecoin private keys should not work on Bitcoin network, sending Litecoin to Bitcoin address may lose them and so on.

There's a good chance that you have sent 0.05 BTC and the change = 0.45 BTC has returned to you in another address, in the same wallet.dat.

How I wish you have asked earlier.. for the steps... I will try to check and write them down a bit later if nobody else does it til then. I just can't check them now...

EDIT:
I came back with the steps, as promised, sorry that it took this long.

From what I see and understand, you should have at least these addresses and amounts:
1LGEt7mWrd6FZLnLvyT3TbDtnirFLiz6p         1 BTC
13hnDCz14BiwsFina1h17AgP8KQonJQh84         0.45 BTC

If you expect to have more money, check the Receive tab in Bitcoin QT, double click each line and add the address from there into this list. The steps are the same for every address from your wallet. It's best to do them all now.

I don't know if there are viruses on MAC, but since others may read this, I better write it down: Please make sure you do this on a safe from viruses environment, since malware/keyloggers/viruses can get your private keys and full access to your money if you are careless.

For every address in the list you do:
Go to Help->Debug window, console tab.

If your wallet is password protected, you start with:
walletpassphrase your_password 60
(If there's no password protection, you can skip that step; I think that 60 means 1 minute, if you think that you need more time, you can increase this)

Then you do:
dumpprivkey 1LGEt7mWrd6FZLnLvyT3TbDtnirFLiz6p
(next time, obiously, will be the next wallet's address)

Write down the result line (copy/paste into notepad). This is the private key for 1LGEt7mWrd6FZLnLvyT3TbDtnirFLiz6p.
Then you do the same for 13hnDCz14BiwsFina1h17AgP8KQonJQh84 and the other addresses.

Now you open Electrum and do New/Restore. Enter a wallet name, next, standard wallet, next, use public or private keys, next.
In that window you will write (or paste) the private keys, one per line.
Next. Password protect it if you want (recommended), next. And you have your wallet.

Hi
Thanks for your information.

I have just spend like 45 minutes trying to figure out Blockchain.

I have 2 Bitcoin addresses

originally when i inserted both of them nothing came out(it kind of encrypted them)
but when i inserted transaction id it found it (i double clicked on my address)

the only thing  is that there are 2 transaction when i send someone 0.05 BTC that matches my wallet transaction
but also there is another transaction where i sent 0.45 BTC that i don't remember sending it and there is no record of that in my wallet

so instead of having balance  2.25 bitcoin as my wallet suggest on Blockchain i have 1.8 BTC

Is it possible to track that 0.45 transaction since next to address that apparently i have send it is written(Unspent)
It does not make sense...

You were right when you were saying what is in the wallet does not necesarily match what is on Blockchain..not sure why.
It is bit stressful not knowing what happened ..i didnt even check litecoin yet:-)

Hey, can you post the transactions IDs over here so we can have a look and help you out?
And you sure you sent the coins to the right address? If the transaction hash ID shows that you sent it to the right address, it should be on the wallet you sent. Is your new wallets fully synced?

NEVER EVER give or post private key (private address, sometime or usually a password, encryption for the wallet...) to anyone. Balance in wallet is just imaginary, coins are really on a blockchain and the private key is the only access to get to them.

Remember, you are your own bank in that case! If you have coins on Bittrex or Poloniex or any other online exchange, you basically dont own private keys and in worst case scenario (hack, shutdown, theft...) you will loose everything. ---> Best thing to do is to get Ledger Nano S (asap, right now it still unavailable..) cause it can store a lot of coins and also all tokens (Humaniq, Golem, Iconomi, Gnosis...) for Ethereum network and is the safest storage possible. Especially for that kind of money... And you dont need to download blockchain which is over 100GB for BTC and LTC combined. And there is at least 15GBGB or many more for Ethereum at the moment... No brainer to get the Nano S or similar capable hardware wallet.

I have downloaded Electrum Bitcoin Wallet and Litecoin-QT but not sure how to upload  those wallet.dat files ...

wallet.dat doesn't work just like that in Electrum.
Also wallet.dat can contain more than one address and if you you miss one address at import/export you may miss some funds at import.

First of all, for your address, you should check if blockchain.info/address/your_address shows the same amount as your wallet; if that's the case, it's easy.
(Else you have to find the other addresses you have there with funds).
Then, from Bitcoin QT console you have to export your private key(s) and import them into electrum.

I have to get my kids to sleep now, but if you are still in trouble until tomorrow - let's say in 12 hours from now - PM me and I'll try to help you with step by step instructions. I have no MAC, but at that time I will also be at the computer where I keep a Bitcoin QT and an Electrum, so I can give you exact steps (which I expect to be 99% identical for all major operating systems)

And for Litecoin it should be 99.99% similar.

Thanks for answering..really appreciate it..
Basically i just done back up for both Bitcoin and Litecoin and have 2 files called wallet.dat (files i uploaded to usb stick )

If i understand this right if i download new version of Litecoin and Bitcoin i can just replace existing wallet.dat with the previous ones.(kind of over ride them)

The only thing i cant get figure out how to do that on Mac ..since i dont have folders like on Windows platforms.

I have downloaded Electrum Bitcoin Wallet and Litecoin-QT but not sure how to upload  those wallet.dat files ...

Was watching this video on YouTube

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGXf2xFyWaE

and it looked straight forward on Windows..hopefully should be easy on Mac too..

Thanks for answers.
Unfortunately i am kind of beginner in this so would appricaite if you can give me some guides

https://www.dropbox.com/s/4o91w6wapk9zdxs/btc_ltc.jpg?dl=0

I have just taken some pics..you might be able to help

How do i back up the wallets..and if i download newer version will this override current ones ..like is there i chance i can delate Litecoins or Bitccoins that way..

Sorry if questions are not smart:-)

ALL you need is wallet.dat file from each wallet folder. Wallet.dat file contains your addresses, balance, private and public keys.

Just install latest btc and ltc wallet on your mac and import wallet.dat file to each folder. Do not mix or loose them!! If you loose wallet.dat, you loose everything!! Just save wallet.dat files to few usb sticks for backup, thats all you need! You can also transfer the blockhain files for fast/instant sync on newly installed wallets on Mac.

Please google it: btc wallet.dat backup and how to import bootstrap file for more info
