And why 2GB? There are also 4Gb cards and the vram has nothing to do with the Cuda version lol. It is a kepler GPU and nearly all Kepler GPU´s have cuda 10.1 support. The next thread where noobs don´t hear about my advice. This forum is a fucking pain, full with noobs Roll Eyes

I help with the right information (i have many old gpu´s laying around and test much more than other guys) but guys with a knowledge like a rock thinks they are right.

Cuda support and Compute Capability are often confused. The Cuda version is the compiler and
Compute Capability is the GPU core architecture.

The only limitations imposed by the Cuda version is code that can compile with a supported compute capability
and a driver to run it.

Compute capability is the one that has the most limitations. You can't run a newer CC build on an older GPU.
The miner must be built "for" a compatible CC but may be built "with" any Cuda version that supports that CC
and run with any driver that supports it.

In the case of 750M, it's compute capability is either version 3.5 or 5.0. It may be built with any Cuda version since around V6,
including Cuda 11 and may be run with any driver that supports the Cuda version used to compile it.

Binary files claiming a certain Cuda version technically only applies to the run time system in the driver, not the supported GPU
architectures. What is usually means is the build wasn't compiled for some older archictures, but which ones?

Developpers should report the supported compute capabilities of their binary builds, and source code if applicable.

Lol what a shit you are talking? Yes his GPU is old and slow, but he can mine some coins. And for practice, it is a good start. I started with my old hd5870 to learn the basics.

For practicing maybe, this is 2021 where 99% of updated miners have abandoned old GPU architecture and can you still use hd5870 to mine in 2021? I doubt it even if the GPU memory is up to 4gb that doesn't mean it will be supported, anyways good luck to OP and I hope he drops his feed back here if he real get it running

Unfortunately there is literally no mining software left that works with less than CUDA 6.1 (i think some very old versions of ccminer work with 5.0, but they have long sine been lost)

It is not simply a case of the card is weak but i want to try mining anyway, its a case of the hardware simply isn't supported anymore.

If i come across any really old software (pre 2013) i will try to remember to send it to you, but it is extremely unlikely.

Best idea, just do some cpu mining if you really must use that laptop to learn (start with cpuminer-opt)

GT 750M is not a good GPU for mining it's too weak, better find a gtx1660 or rx560, if it's laptop make sure it has minimum of these cards onboard, sorry about that gt750m is too weak for mining
