yes, the government ban bitcoin for some reason, they worry if bitcoin can worsen their economic condition. my country is the one of the countries that does not accept bitcoin, in here is illegal if you use bitcoin as a payment. if many more countries ban bitcoin I worried that is will make bitcoin price continue to down and slowly but surely people start to leave bitcoin and the other cripto currency.

Accept the fact that most of governments will oppose crypto currency. Obviously there are some countries who have decided to embrace the future, but let's face it, most of governments will stand against. Who likes their currency to be weaken? Every time a stupid country opposes bitcoin, there is so much fud and a great price drop.

China bans mining

South Korea will not ban crypto but obviously does not welcome it

India banning crypto

I fully expected this resistance from governments.

Don't be surprised if more countries come out against bitcoin

I thinks everything happen have a reason, why all this kind of problem will intervene in the world of cryptocurrency, because  they want to test the affirmation of digital currency in there service toward the people and beyond the growth of economy in each every country. Many countries against bitcoin because they thinks that this is another kind of fraud or scamming, but when they know the truth what is the main purpose of bitcoin, thats the time they embrace the goodness  given by the virtual currency to the humankind.

They don't want something that they don't have control over that's why the banning and opposition. So it's better if a government just tax bitcoin profits. That way, bitcoin will be legitimized instead of this circus that they are doing.

Most of the governments? Excuse me but so far we see only a few countries (maybe 3-4 or 5) thinking not to ban cryptocurrencies but to regulate.
China has stopped ICO and not Bitcoin: yes and I think it's good, honestly, most ICOs are crappy. So in the end, it helps cryptocurrencies to not get the cryptos tarnished by a bad reputation

Yeah. It is a bit exaggeration to say that Bitcoin is being opposed by every authority or government entity. It is just normal for governments to react to this kind of phenomenon that cryptos can be a scam in terms of ICOs needing a really large capital for their operation but would just end up a dead silence in the end. Let's put in a way that government are just polishing the cryptos and removing those possible threats to investors. In fact that they're even welcoming the cryptos even more because they have time to regulate it where they could just ban it in a single declaration in the papers and it will be the end of all for that country. Don't jump to that conclusion that much. It doesn't prove anything useful and it will just make things worse. Instead of spending your time preparing for the possible ban of cryptos in your country by using VPN and all sorts of IP-Masking software to make yourself anonymous in the network then why not just  simply become the part of promoting of Bitcoin to prove them wrong. Use alternative social sites that isn't widely connected to Facebook, as for the recent ban of cryptos, then say your words and your points out there. Being more aggressive against someone with higher authority is more likely to make the situation worse.

We are the 5% Let convince the 90%. Fuck the 1% Smiley

Yes , we do need to accept that because the government as we know it always want to control everything. Especially when it comes to money, and bitcoin as a decentralize is a big hindrance to that.

it doesn't have to be full on banning bitcoin. standing against bitcoin can simply be a set of very hard regulation rules, huge taxes, lots of registration and document submissions,... practically making it harder and harder to get involved with cryptocurrencies and mostly the businesses will take the hit. but they simply relocate to a crypto friendly country as it has happened before.

Facebook made a similar move recently: to ban ICO ads, because as LeGaulois sais they are crap (mostly at least). And people argued that it whatsoever doesn't define the general stance of Facebook towards cryptocurrency which is favorable.

I would argue the same holds for countries (FB is as large as many a country, to be exact). You would expect reasonable countries to ban or at least heavily regulate ICO crap to protect their citizens, while they may maintain a favorable general stance towards crypto.

Accept the fact that most of governments will oppose crypto currency.

I do not accept this as it is not a fact.  *Most* governments have so far done little against bitcoin and only action is to declare how it should be treated within existing frameworks, i.e. current tax law.  The cryptosphere appear determined to create an atmosphere of us and them, because some people within this group see it as a political anti-government cause.  So far governments have, aside from a few regulations well short of prohibition, let it be.

Exactly. They're all coming with a hard stance because that's a position to appear strong but of course they're approaching like this because they'll know they have to meet in the middle somewhere to regulate and tax it for their country, this is it to make it appear a compromise.

I believe when the FUD keeps coming out and many governments have been trying to regulate the cryptocurrencies, I'm sure it will drive the price down more and more. And at the end, cryptocurrencies will be stricter and I'm sure we going to be hard when we want to spend it.

Precisely, the purpose of cryptocurrency is to curate the system as it exists, and it was obvious that governments would try to ban, but if we want to fight against this system must continue!

This is the reality right now, and this might be the reason why the price of bitcoin are keep on dumping. But if you really believed on cryptocurrency you will not sold it at a loss because if you do you just help the price to dump more. We as a bitcoin community should not let this thing happen, we need this technology and government should listen to its people. Lets hope for the best year, just keep on holding.

I will hold until the end, because I'm a true believer.
I can't believe there are so many theads (like this SHITTY thread) here speaking bad about btc.

What a rubbish. Bitcoin has grown badly throughout the years, and that with the loads and loads of fud we have had to deal with back then. Point is that fud most of the times comes at well timed moments, and current situation isn't an exception. People have to accept that the crypto market in its entirity has grown way too much and way too fast. It shouldn't come as a surprise that this ecosystem is badly struggling with the increased demand, which clearly shows that we are not ready for this growth, and that the market is bound to fall back down after being insanely overbought. People expect too much from this market, and that shows. Smart people have taken their profits at +$15,000 levels, and are slowly buying back in right now.

I think this phonomena is just normal and inevitable. There are some governments who wants a cut from the pie which actually they cannot and as a solution of their greediness,IRR is their way to gain profits behalf of them or completely ban the crypto currency.Anyway i'm grateful that our government here in our country did not ban crypto currency although they put some tax on it but at least it is  better than being banned.Japan is a good example of an open minded country and see a good future for bitcoin,i'm reading some news and lots of positive news about bitcoin in japan and its amazing, their government really understand and react to the needs of its people.

If we just accept the rules of the government in opposing the use of cryptocurrency then we can't have the freedom to use it because only the people can change the government because at the end we are the government. We have the power to change the look of government about bitcoin because bitcoin offers different ways to have financial freedom. we just need to resist about the look of government about cryptos.

India doesn't announce to ban the cryptocurrency but just only give a statement that cryptocurrency have no legal tender and no regulatory that will protect it in the country.

For China we all know that Chinese are business tacticians so banning of mining is just a market strategy to sure gain.
