wait about 24-48 hours and if you don't get a response, just go aheaad and post it I'd say...

I would rather suggest him to wait for a response. If he is really willing to do something for his native speakers, he should not spoil it by breaking a rule and getting a negative impact for that. Patience mostly works better than doing things in hurry.
You have to learn something here. A lot of the time when you send a pm to hilariousandco or another mod and they ignore it, it means it's not worth their time to reply to it so they are simply satisfied with what you have written...

I don't think you're likely to get banned for one rule break...
Would you say the same thing to someone who plagiarizes or breaks another forum rule? Rules are rules, and there can be no partiality for it, no matter who is the person in question. Someone should either follow the rules, or get ready for the punishment. So I would suggest mday to be patient in this matter to avoid getting into negative sides of the matter.

Hilarious stated this outright that people will get leniancy if they are more notable on the forum. Usually people get banned for plagiarism if there is strong evidence that they have done it multiple times. I don't think a sole plagiarist (that hasnt broken any other rules) has beem nuked (as far as I can tell at least)...

Make it anyway and see if it gets deleted :-)?

If it does, so be it, it will be a proof that this forum likes spam-fests.
If not, you get the new local thread.
I will do so and will keep continuing with the project I started for my native speakers if I do not hear anything from hilari or any other staff or may be theymos. After all, this warning message is to stop spammers not genuine posts. I asked hilariousandco's attention because the owner of this warning topic is hilariousandco.

I would not bother to wait that long if there were no ban threat for doing so. Currently I have hanging on my translation project until I get a response.

That seems very unspecific that quote... What if I speak two languages? Do I supress one in favour of another?

And wait about 24-48 hours and if you don't get a response, just go aheaad and post it I'd say...
Worst that happens is it'll get deleted, I don't think you're likely to get banned for one rule break...

That means there is no hope Sad
I never get hopeless. There is always an alternative way. Anyway, I am waiting for hilari's response on this topic I created yesterday. What I see is - that rule was created to stop spams.

...you can forget the idea of your local board.
OP is asking for a local thread only not a board or child-board.  Smiley

Do not waste your time for this. you can forget the idea of your local board.
I've already asked Serbian local board where we have much more activity. I never get any response, yes or no. and which are generally conditions for obtaining dedicated local board.

Can we start a self-moderated thread?
~Snipped~
This is our thread>>>https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/sri-lanka-2106234
AFAIK, only if that thread is locked or trashed (at the moment, you can't).
That means we all are allowing to run that chit-chat show (feel sorry for bitcointalk). AFAIK, I'm unable to create a local thread even that thread locked or trashed (very unlikely) due to the rank barrier. Am I correct?

"mdayonliner", you might want to move all of your "recently created threads" from that section (Other languages/locations) into Archival.
- I'm pretty sure what you did is against the rules (there's already an active "Bengali [bangla] local thread").

- Not sure if you've missed the sticky thread on that section or thought it's only for ICO related matters:

It is prohibited to create translated ICO threads for Local Languages that don't have their own sub boards. Due to abuse, it is also prohibited for users to create threads outside of their Local Thread. This sub forum is for those languages that don't have a local board to have their own thread to discuss bitcoin in; it is not a place for account farmers and spammers to easily abuse campaigns. If you post threads outside of your own local thread you will be banned.

Thanks mate, you have a point. Yesterday there was a topic about my recent activity and no one even hilariousandco did not have it in mind.

I get the rule however I may need to ask permission for that. The current topic contains no information at all for the community. It's all mess there. For this reason I started this topic (বিটকয়েনটক: বাংলাদেশের স্থানীয় বোর্ড) to link the Bangladeshi community which I am still working on the translations here.

I may knock hilariousandco and ask a review of my topics on the Other languages/locations board.

Note - The old thread has been started by a Full member but not the Sr. Member. When rules changed?
I guess yes. Before it was possible. Other day I spotted that now I can create topics there then I figured out - it was the Sr. member rank.

After clearing up the puke from the first part of that post Grin.

Maybe the op that currently exists deleted some of their messages and ranked down to a lower level before the merit system was introduced...

I'm hoping it's not an issue Smiley
Not an issue. To spread the name of Bitcoin - Bitcoin itself should be the language.  Smiley

You should either ask someone in a higher rank to create the topic for you, but in that case, you won't have the self-moderation to yourself.
I can help OP to create one for him.
Thanks for your kindness words @mdayonliner. That's why this forum become so popular with the crypto enthusiastic peoples around the world. Most of the people's are here ready to help newcomers to the feild. I even didn't expect such a quick responses.

As jetty said, go here and make a new thread - what happens?
Oops this is what happens when I'm going to create a thread. I think @Alone055 is spot on about this matter.

BTW I just want to know why it's not allowed to create a self-modareted thread with their own language regardless of their rank(at least for avove full member). Because as I already mentioned, the old thread is filled only with chit chats. Why can't we delete the whole thread and allowing to create an self-moderated thread

But then if not, go with mday's idea (you can pm me the contents too if mday doesn't make a new thread within a few days and you want a fast turnaround)...

OP: If that is ok then PM me the contents of the topic and I will create the self-moderated topic for you. When you will see spammy posts then report them to the mods. In addition every day or few times a week you can PM me with the link of the posts those need to be deleted, I will delete them. FYI, I do not know your language.
That's what responsiveness means!!! I am proud of such people who are always ready to help! Bravo!!!!
Regarding Bangladesh thread, I read the discussions, which also asked to add a locale.

It's not allowed not to create a new thread in other languages section, at least I can't see.

As far as I know, a user only with a rank of Sr. member or above can start new threads in that section. I also can't see that option nor does OP, since we are still Full members and we don't have the permission to do that.

@OP,
There are only two ways to achieve this. You should either ask someone in a higher rank to create the topic for you, but in that case, you won't have the self-moderation to yourself. Or, you should just PM both theymos and Cyrus and wait for a response from any of them.

@OP
Keep trying to contact Cyrus through PMing several weeks. I believe he will allow you to do so. I have seen recently someone has added a Bangladeshi local thread.

If so, OP can't create a thread. Better to contact and be sure how this guy mdayonliner has created.

I am from Sri Lanka and we don't have a local board but the thread. The problem is the "Sinhala" thread is becoming a useless thread and I don't even bother to posting there. It's full of chitchats and I just want to start a new thread for the people actually cares about the crypto and other valuable areas. Can we start a self-moderated thread? because there are so many members out there who really want to discuss with crypto related things with our native language. I have already chatted with few genuine crypto enthusiasts and they also want to check whether is it possible to start a new thread with our native language as a self-moderated thread where they all can discuss without those shit talks. So is there any possibility for that? If not what are our alternatives?

I already send a PM to Cyrus by asking this matter and I still didn't get any reply from him either.
