Why don't you just hold your peace about earning money just yet and try to learn first?
This should be your first priority in the forum because even if you're being offered a job to join a signature campaign; you can't even wear a signature, you can make quality post yet that might attract payments and you don't know the boards that are counted as valid in each campaigns.
So all these things are being LEARNT and it takes time to do so.
Remember, "Rome wasn't built in a day" there are very many people who have committedly posted in these forum but ain't still eager for campaigns because they think they ain't fit for it yet.
I'm saying all these to serve the MODS some stress of deleting shitty post over time  Grin

Yes, you can earn from the forum. Yes, merits are important if you are looking for good and stable earnings. But, you won't be earning from day one and no one will be giving you merits unless you contribute to the forum. In my opinion you should first start by staying active and try to create topics here that in a way contribute to the knowledge of forum members. I have seen a lot of members getting good amount of merits by doing the same.

So I just got into the forum not too long ago as directed by a friend and although the interfaces are kind of complex to comprehend, I find here a very profitable environment of learning about the cryptocurrency space.
So here are some questions I would love to ask :

Apart from the highly rich information about cryptocurrencies that can be gotten in this forum, can you also earn?

I heard of bounties and I'm yet to properly know how it works, but aside from the bounties program are there any other medium of earning here?

And again

How do I attract merits?
What do you mean by quality posts? Is this an example?
Who owns the Bitcointalk forum?

And I would really love to be a moderator here one day
I love the flexibility that the job gives.
How long will that take?

You can earn but not as easy as the question, there are some certain rules you follow in this forum before you can end and in this forum you have to exercise patience before you can earn because it's not one day, week, or even a month you have to work harder before you can earn. In fact before you join the forum you have to prepare yourself with some social media platforms which are Facebook, Twitter Instagram etc. and have enough followers to become an active member of the forum without all this you will not be active in the room and you can't earn as the question implies.

Yes but remember that it's not the forum who will pay you. This is the place where you can earn but not the forum who will pay. Try to use your set of skills in this forum and you will earn. For example,  you know how to do wordpress then it would be useful to create websites where some of the casino owners use wordpress to create their casino website. Other skills can be used too like designing signatures for signature campaign, avatar designs. You can check it on the service board and you'll know what I mean. Anyway, this had been discussed already. Try to search instead.

As they've all said, making sure that the post you make are of quality, and making good write ups are ways of getting merits.
To earn money in this requires so much energy to put in your work,it requires you to make constructive postss that will make people in the forum give you merits.

But one thing to note is that you should never plagiarise,if not all the effort you have put in your works to earn merits will be in vain.

Here we go about another thread on how to earnnon this forum and i am surprised to see the rising numbers of similar threads on the forum but still what can we do about them.

Okay to answer your doubts here are some of my opinions.

So I just got into the forum not too long ago as directed by a friend and although the interfaces are kind of complex to comprehend, I find here a very profitable environment of learning about the cryptocurrency space.
There are two different meanings of your statement here like if your friends have introduced you to this forum as source of learning about bitcoin and provide learning environment for you that will be profitable in your life ahead or in other sense which is making money out of forum through different ways but not learning.

Apart from the highly rich information about cryptocurrencies that can be gotten in this forum, can you also earn?
There are lot of ways which other members have already told you but you know everything requires some kind of skills and knowledge apart from those bounty campaigns where you only need social media followers and earn some fake tokens.

I heard of bounties and I'm yet to properly know how it works, but aside from the bounties program are there any other medium of earning here?
Yes there are lot of bounty campaign that are running on the forum and you will earn some tokens from them by doing social media campaigns or signature campaign if you are atleast junior member or some other ways like translation or blog writing and then you will earn some stakes according to your rank weekly.Later on you can sell them at listed exchange on whatever the price is.But speaking truly they are just waste of time speaking from my personal experience as most of them are scam later on or you would not able to sell them due to coin dumping later on as soon as they get listed on any of exchange.

How do I attract merits?
What do you mean by quality posts? Is this an example?
You already answered your first question in the second one and earning merits is easy if you make quality posts and you must be aware about that that's why you have asked such question.

This kind of post where you ask how can i earn is not at all quality post because nothing useful have been discussed here and no exchange of knowledge has happened so ask yourself that what's quality post.Check the forum for such posts and you will find answer for the same.

And I would really love to be a moderator here one day
I love the flexibility that the job gives.
How long will that take?
That would take lot of time and you should focus more on increasing your knowledge first of all and contribute best towards forum and then think of all these positions.

...Apart from the highly rich information about cryptocurrencies that can be gotten in this forum, can you also earn?..

In addition to all the informative posts above me have said, you have to be patience as wealth doesn't come quickly and that you can achieve by been on the forum. Do you know some of the successful projects currently making wave in the market, started off from the forum through their announcement and bounty. Also the trends been fomo in becomes a topic of discussion on the forum before the outside community jumps in on the act.

If you pay close attention, you might be fortunate to get into some projects/new trend before they become popular and make some decent profits off them. The forum is mainly for educational and informative purpose, use that to your advantage and you'll be earn but don't abuse the forum while doing so and you'll be just fine.

Yes, you can get additional income here by participating in various bounties and airdrop, which are published on the forum pages. But the most important and useful thing on this forum that you can get is knowledge that you can later convert into bicoins outside of this forum.

What do you mean by quality posts? Is this an example?
Who owns the Bitcointalk forum?

You attract merits by creating quality posts and contributing to the forum as a whole. In addition, you can also get merits by providing guides to new and existing users about a certain topic that is not yet been discussed.

Quality posts can be defined subjectively but it is something that provides ample contribution to the forum and to the users. While there may be some quality replies on to threads, it gets repetitively mentioned throughout the forum.

Yes, the interface does look confusing at first. It's the same way most platforms are until one properly settles down to using them. I'm not sure you've paid much attention to this forum since you registered here. You've made just eight posts and it's about two months since you got in here. You should spend more time posting if you truly want to get acquainted with it.

Apart from the highly rich information about cryptocurrencies that can be gotten in this forum, can you also earn?
That's true. You can earn on this forum and I believe your friend must've told you about this to get you here. Perhaps, you still doubt that possibility. I think you should pay more attention to improving yourself on the forum more than the secondary desire which is earning here. The earning part will come at due time. Focus more on the community first, to learn and to teach others through your posts.

BTW, from your moniker, I suspect you're Naija. You can find other Nigeria (Naija) brethren there. I don't know if you're already aware of that thread. Feel free to visit it, if you haven't.

Yes, Op you can earn through this forum.
If you have some knowledge about paintings, editing, etc related on computers. You can post it on the service board.
But if you want to earn by posting in YouTube tweeter Reddit and here in our forum, you can apply some bounty signature campaigns.
By earning merits you must create an constructive post so that some user here give you some merit.

You can achieve whatever you place on your mind in this forum. If only you will be patient, and take it one step at a time. The necessary information has been started for you to pursue, but in all will you be patient enough when it all gets soar or take time to actualize? Will you give up with btt? As in it didn't work out as you planned. Not earning, no merits and be able to be a moderator at the end

Many newbies coming here firstly ask questions about how to earn money in this forum. It seems that they have heard about someone else can earn money so easily in this forum and they are interested to follow what those people earn.
But one that they commonly forget about is that they will directly ask about how to earn money, not searching at first about information need what to do in this forum.
We know that everyone is interested in money, but as you know, it is always not easy and not instant to earn money in whatever field, including in this forum.
First of all, I will remind you to change your first mindset about earning money first in this forum because if this is your first mindset and aim, you may leave this forum as soon as possible once you cannot earn money.
But, if you are really willing to learn, try to seek information about forum ranks, bounty, and other campaigns that are all provided in this forum. What you need to do is search and also learn. And if you know this forum from someone, ask them directly about how to do in this forum contribute.

Here are very important things:
Newbies - Read before posting

Then how we can get merit point.
Check also this information:

I probably shouldn’t be saying this, but it’s no secret really. If you really, really, really want to earn a few (albeit not many) Merits, but you can’t bring yourself to provide and meaningful content (despite not having even tried yet), then all you’ve got to do is pay attention to some of the threads posted on the first page of this same board, and resolve some crypto related challenges. They’re not trivial (they are easy), but at least it’s a way to focus on something that could be useful for you.

If you are posting something to get merits then you will never get them, just try to concentrate on bringing some information about cryptocurrency to the forum members even though its old still it can be helpful for someone, and try to find the solution if someone asking a query instead of giving a generic reply, spend more time on reading what other people are posting instead of focusing on bounty tasks which are actually useless.

Aside from what Lucius said above me, I saw some non-bounty related post in your post history, but the problem is you don't join the discussion at all. You just open the thread, read the title, maybe read the content a little bit, then just continue replying.
I guess you wouldn't even bother changing your ways as your posts are mostly bounty reports now and from that, no one would bother reading your post history to drop a single merit.

Unfortunately, you don't understand anything - otherwise, you wouldn't ask such a question, because the answer lies in your post history. All your posts are related to bounty campaigns and have no value at all - and if you continue like that, you can have 10 000 of them and you won't earn single merit.

Becoming a moderator is actually going to give you salary but don't think theymos is not interested in hiring mods anymore especially a random newbie who posted 4 bounty posts and asking how to earn here.

I clearly stated that a friend introduced me to this forum, that should mean he might have explained a substantial amount of how things work here but not everything... obviously. 😹
So me asking about the bounty program was to see if there was more to it
It wasn't necessarily because I knew nothing about it .

Okay, but what exactly do you want to know then? It's obvious the people here want to help you, but you may be asking the wrong questions.
You claim you don't understand bounties but you already take part in them. In addition, at the top of this board, there is a sticky thread: Newbies - Read before posting. Did you read it? Yes, your questions are meaningless if you are not willing to read.

And proof of authentication posts doesn't mean I have all the idea of how bounties work...

Oh, okay. Don't you understand how the awards work? But the first 4 posts are registrations for the bounty. Tell us, what are you going to do there, since you still don't understand anything?
Again, a beginner who wants to get everything very quickly.
Your post reminds me of a hungry boy who ran into the kitchen and looked into every saucepan asking, expecting to eat quickly.
If you are in such a hurry, you will very quickly be extinguished in your desires.
And yes, high barriers like becoming a forum moderator starting with bounty programs are good motivation.
And what? Everything happens in this world.  Grin

Seriously you don't have to blame him when I joined the forum around 2019 the only thing I believe this forum is for is just bounty, which I don't even know what merit was and I heard you can be ban on the forum so I was scared to even visit other section because I believe if I can post in other sections I will be ban I only focus on bounty section alone. my mentality about the forum changed early this year when I started following other high rank People in the forum

So advise for you is that don't be in hurry to look for money, seriously if you can rank up in the forum you will definitely enjoy the friut of your labour and don't also forget to familiarize yourself with forum rules.

Before engaging in any activity make sure you are familiar with the forum rules.
You are right about the steps, but why don't you do it?
I can say that 80% more of your posts are on altcoin bounty board which doesn't do much to prove that you can do it even if you know how it works. I'm not sure how you can advise others to be rewarded when you're not yet interested in trying harder. Can I say it's all bullshit?

The most popular way of earning here is by joining a bounty campaign, but if you like to be more familiar with the forum try to be more active by participating in the discussion, eventually, as you earn merits you'll rank up and you'll be able to join a signature campaign and earn some bitcoins which you can either convert or save (it's up to you).

Bounty campaign is the easiest way but there's no guarantee that you'll earn real money after the project due to high rate of failed projects, but like I said, if you are just active and made helpful post, you might be able to join in signature campaign one day and you'll earn real money.

It might be obvious to you but not to another...
Especially not to a newcomer
And proof of authentication posts doesn't mean I have all the idea of how bounties work...
And even if I did
A little clerification and validation from the community won't hurt would it?

As long as my question is not meaningless which it isn't as it contributes to the "AIM" of the community which is to help educate everyone... as stated by you.

in every bounty where you applied, in the first OP post you have all rules, what tasks you need to do.
it would be ideal to read it all first and determine if it is for you. also a little introduction to the project itself would be helpful, you don't want to spend your time advertising something which will never have value or have any future.

So again, read carefully the opening post in the bounty thread, all bounty rules, then participate or not.

You did a good thing asking these questions and i believe you've gotten lots of answers already. You can earn quite reasonably from bounty campaigns advertising their works on social media, signature is also a way you can earn on the forum but i don't think you can do that as a newbie, only jr members and above can join signature campaign.

There may be a bounty campaign that goes beyond the usual waste of time, but I would answer your question this way: You are more likely to make more money if you sit on a street and play an instrument than in most bounty campaigns.

And I would really love to be a moderator here one day
I love the flexibility that the job gives.
How long will that take?

Moderators can be global or just assigned to their local board, and the decision is made by the admin. Members of each local board can nominate someone for moderator, and there are of course some criteria. Here is what the admin says on the subject :

Report history is the most important consideration for a moderator candidate. Over the forum's many years, relatively "newbie" members with good report histories have consistently done much better as mods than veteran, well-respected members with poor report histories. That said, not all reports are equal, so a simple report count doesn't tell the whole story. Also, in addition to report histories, it's necessary to consider factors such as the ability of the candidate to be neutral, their trustworthiness, etc. It's also nice to choose a moderator who people generally already trust/respect, but sometimes this is outweighed by other factors.

If a poll is created, I will not completely ignore the results, but I will also not use it as a primary influence. I'm more interested in arguments people have for or against certain candidates.

If you really want to be a moderator one day I think you're wrong to admit publicly that you want to do it obviously because it's a paid job - not because you care about the forum. Regardless of your intentions and desires, the question is are you ready to invest a lot of time in this forum, or are you just another in a series of casual passers-by?

Not with proof of authentication posts in bounty campaigns. Bounty hunters aren't exactly merit-worthy candidates.
By the way, welcome to the forum, but you will have to work much harder than this.

It seems that the author invited friends because in this forum can make money.
Not wrong, but this forum is so good you have to understand the procedures for you to succeed. Try to be useful for forums, with your posts. After that you will get results from your efforts for the forum.

The forum is not a Join-to-Earn forum, honestly but there are ways to earn here.
  • Signature Campaign Guidelines (read this before starting or joining a campaign)
  • Don't misunderstand between signature campaigns and signature bounty in bounties. They are different in quality and requirement to join. It's best to join signature campaigns paid by Bitcoin. You will get a valuable payment whilst with signature bounty, you will receive tokens that can be valueless in the end.
  • Additionally, if you join signature campaign, you will have to focus and improve your post quality that help you in long run

Grin

I clearly stated that a friend introduced me to this forum, that should mean he might have explained a substantial amount of how things work here but not everything... obviously. 😹
So me asking about the bounty program was to see if there was more to it
It wasn't necessarily because I knew nothing about it .

I like you kitchen boy story tho😅
But trust me I'm a little different from him😗

And I would really love to be a moderator here one day
I love the flexibility that the job gives.
How long will that take?
I'm not sure how to be moderator here, but I'm pretty sure the criteria is so high to be one.

As much as I can see only few moderator has been chosen. But I think some applied too. I really wonder about this case. Anyway, your dream is too advanced why not focus every every questions yet to reading more here.

an interesting trend is here on the forum. "Newbies" comes here and asks obvious questions about some banal things.
For example, OP asks about merit, how to attract. So it's obvious that he knows about the merit system here what it is for and what it is benefits. however, he did not research more about the forum, what are quality posts.
Also, he is interested in bounty and earnings opportunities of which he knows nothing, though his first four posts are the prof of auth in bounty threads.

After all, it would be logical for him to come here again and read the answers he received. surely there is something else he did not understand.

Most of them nowadays come here straight away to earn cryptocurrencies or money. Most of them have no idea what they are dealing with and only know one thing in general. Merits = High earnings whereas it should have been, Learn then Earn merits = Earnings.

And here I was, thinking that there was a missing "L" in the topic's heading …

The comments above are a good enough kick-start, although probably the most important thing to bear is attitude, and that ranges from reading and picking up on how the forum works, to being somewhat versed on bitcoin overtime.

As to the Moderator question, this is a listed compilation of their accounts: List of the forum's admins/ global moderators/ staffs.
All the accounts on the list are all pretty stable and aged on the forum and its inners, and besides probably all having an excellent proven track of reporting, it’s a Trust related assignment (not job per se), and that is something that is not taken lightly nor easily met in criteria.

There are many things that can be learned in this Forum, be it about Bitcoin, crypto, trading, Bounty, campaigns and many others, for sure some of the members above have suggested a lot of things you need to know regardless of income, basically money will come to you if you have the skills and knowledge, make money chase you, don't chase money, that's the key to success either in forums or in the real world.

And one more thing, diligently reading here and understanding what other members are talking about, like you go to a city you haven't visited, when you are in that city, You will adjust and understand everything that exists, where is the place of worship, where is the place to urinate and defecate, where it is possible to produce and where you can get to know each other, you will know all that once you settle there.

The bottom line: obey the laws, rules, both prohibitions and traditions in the city, by itself over time you will be resurrected into a character there and have everything.

Of course there is money to be made on the forum. I, apart from the answers you have been given, would only add that you should not be in a hurry. Take your time to acquire knowledge and get to know the forum, post regularly, and above all, don't be in a hurry, don't cheat. If you end up plagiarizing or scamming or buying an account out of a desire to make money on the forum quickly , you will end up in a bad way.

Apart from the highly rich information about cryptocurrencies that can be gotten in this forum, can you also earn?
Looks like your friend can explain this question without having to create this thread because I'm sure you were directed here because your friend is also making money on this forum regardless of whether he is a bounty hunter, trader, minner or signature campaign participant. And it is true that most of the forum users here can make money regardless of their interests.

Merit is generally a form of appreciation that other people give to the quality of your posts, but in many cases merit can also be meant to thank you for your contribution to this forum. Sometimes your curiosity can also make people reward you with merit, but if you care too much about merit then you will rarely get it because people can assume 100% of your posts are just because of merit. Granted that seems unfair, but merit is not moderated so that everyone can stick with their own decisions. You should also know that satoshi and sirius are the people behind this forum project and they have dedicated their time and knowledge to make this forum what it is today. They are the founders, but we are all the biggest shareholders in the project.

Welcome to Bitcointalk indeed it's a complex forum especially for new members. The best way to navigate here is to select some sections where contents shared there interests you. Not every section here talks about bitcoin and merits are awarded in those sections as well.

Don't invest much of your thought on earnings because it may seem tiring. Consider replying positively to those threads that you understand and believe that your comments will add to what the OP is saying. They are enough room for people to learn here without commenting or even creating an account but people that want to rank up and sell services on this forum need to add value to the forum and make enough engagements on topics shared on this forum.

Pretty sure every job or position looks shinning and easy from outside, until you get in and see that it is not necessarily so, regardless, kudos for aspiring high and setting good target for yourself, it's a requirement for being successful.

This forum provides a platform for learning and earning, that is you can earn in this forum, but as a newbie firstly, i strongly advice that you do not completely base your focus  on the latter which is earning, so as not to miss out on the ultimate goal of learning.

Not with proof of authentication posts in bounty campaigns. Bounty hunters aren't exactly merit-worthy candidates.
By the way, welcome to the forum, but you will have to work much harder than this.

If you want to learn about how this forum works, make sure to read the Meta section, which explains everything you need to know about it.

Actually, make sure to read a lot here first. There's a ton of excellent information in this forum, already posted. Since you're just starting out, you should be reading a lot of posts for every post you make.

This forum is not like many other places in the internet. Each post here should have a reason to exist. Don't spam, or post low quality stuff. Think before you post. Try to give value in your posts.

You seem to be mostly interested in how to earn money in this forum. It can be done, but you need to create value for it. For example you can earn money by selling goods or services in their respective sections. You can also check out the marketplace in general. Another way of making money is to sign up for a signature campaign, which will pay you for posting constructive posts in different sections of the forum.

At the end of the day you should be providing value to the forum by posting good quality content here. Just do that, be a good human, and you'll get benefits from it over time. That's kinda how real life works as well.

Yes, with what some reputed members have provided you above, you can as well go through this thread:

Welcome mate, by the way, I just hope your friend you said introduced you to the forum did not give you the wrong information about the forum by telling you only about the possibility of you earning something from here, mind you that many users that started with such mindset never actually got the opportunity to actually earn, they were either desperate, plagiarized and got banned, or they just gave up after discovering a good amount of effort is expected from every forum user.
How do I attract merits?
What do you mean by quality posts? Is this an example?
Who owns the Bitcointalk forum?
There is no set-in-stone definition of what a quality post is, cause what is quality for one, may not be so for another, but in my opinion what's very important is the effort a user puts into learning and increasing their knowledge, if you do that, then you'll start contributing to discussions going on in the forum, and with the requisite knowledge you've garnered you'll see yourself making quality/good posts.
And I would really love to be a moderator here one day

If I'm to be honest with you on how long that will take, then I'll say forever, I don't think the forum is looking for new moderators, and even if Theymos is looking for mods, then there is an array of reputable members to choose from for that position, and you still have a very long way to go.

Most of the bounties are worthless so look for high quality projects otherwise you're just wasting your time. For newbies, just look at what the legendary and other high ranks are promoting in their signature. Those are more likely to be vetted by experienced coiners

Welcome to bitcointalk!

Apart from the highly rich information about cryptocurrencies that can be gotten in this forum, can you also earn?
Yep, there are ways to earn.

  • Sell your services.
  • Signature campaigns.
  • Bounty campaigns. (If you desperately need money)

I heard of bounties and I'm yet to properly know how it works
In bounties you either wear a signature (& avatar) and make posts or advertise them in social media. Check Bounties (Altcoins). Note that you'll get paid in their token.

but aside from the bounties program are there any other medium of earning here?
Yes, signature campaigns which pay in bitcoin. Check Services. Those that start with either CFNP, OPEN or just include “signature campaign” in their title, are signature campaigns.

How do I attract merits?
In summary: You make constructive posts. See: FAQ: Everything you need to know about forum 'activity, account ranks and merit.

What do you mean by quality posts? Is this an example?
I guess what I'm doing right now is an example.

And again
