Riddle: if I mine 2.0btc in 30 days with only 1x 1500watt miner, how am I doing it?

You're mining LTC with a Titan and exchanging the proceeds for BTC?

Is there anyway to mine using consoles?

NO, well I'm sure there is but it would be a joke to ROI ^^
Someday maybe but not now (best you can do is some button mashing)

Oh the possiblities with this...

Xbox:

PRESS A AND B RAPIDLY TO MINE! ABABABA

And on wii you could swing the console up and down to mine bitcoins!

You never know, Microsoft recently officially accepted Bitcoin as a method of payment, maybe next they will incorporate miners in xbox'ses.

Can happen.. why not..

Not with consoles. Not with CPU. Not with GPU. Only ASIC's are worth it and there will be a time when they wont be either.

Dont use your xbox man, mining is an asic based game, you just have to figure out the best way to play It.

I think the security issue will be the major problem in trying to use an XBox or a wii for mining, and why would you want to destroy it for mining Smiley .

The modifications, will probably destroy its use as a gaming console.

They are not designed for that. Thats why it makes no sense to mine nowadays and you have to develop some chip etc to pass the security just for your small profit

Is there anyway to mine using consoles?

Yes you can, but you won't get anything out of it, it is designed to let you play games not mine.

GPU is designed specifically to calculate floating point. Game consoles happen to fit in the same category.

NO !

Eventhough game console has a high spec doesn't mean it used for mining.

But If console can be used for mining, I'm sure the price will be more expensive

Why would you want to? Asic is developed for mining and the Xbox and the Wii for gaming.  Grin

It's like trying to mine with a old cellphone, before smart phones.

Is there anyway to mine using consoles?

You can probably mine with almost anything that has a processor of some sort but you don't want to do that Grin Needs to be profitable or you will lose more money on electricity, better to sell your old consoles and buy bitcoins Wink

You can get around 35 - 40 KH/s from a PS3 mining scrypt but you need to have Linux installed to be able to use the mining software. I'm not entirely sure if it is still somehow possible to install Linux these days, I know Sony removed that feature a while back. You can also mine on your android device but you'll get next to nothing. You should maybe look at investing in a small hardware miner like the Gridseed or Blizzard/Fury, they only cost around $25 and you'll get better hashrates.

If you're really interested, what you would do is flash Linux for Xbox/Wii onto your console and download a miner.

Now we just need a game that mines in the background.

That would shorten the life of wii or xbox by a lot. Need some water cooling on it...
