Be careful guys n girls...newbies saying they are buying circa or viral (couple of pages back), are probably part of bob surplus gang.
All you will be doing is buying their dumping coins...all ways do your research, maybe I'm wrong and these coins take off.
I'm just super suspicious of Bob and anything he is attached too.

Alright, my new Android wallet install has now synched but it did require a few restarts and in the end I left it running as the foreground app to speed up the sync.

It did take too long and it was too cumbersome for new users so we'll have to see what we can do about that. It seems to be a mere 14.5Mb of data involved so I see no reason it shouldn't be bundled with the app for initial download. That said I have not done any Android development so I don't know if there are restrictions that would prevent it.

Let's say it's under active investigation for improvement.

So glad I sold my CANN and got into CIRC. It's been a great ride. In a few months when I sell some of my CIRC I will buy more CANN because I do love the coin but right now it is to slow for someone like me who's looking for profits weekly and monthly.
Thank you for the great discussions and laughs.

This is 100% my sentiment, I felt I was helping carry the CANN price up for the longest time, but CIRC is just too good right now.

I too will be back in the future with additional buy support, so keep the price down so we can still accumulate when we come back Smiley
This is not my sentiment at all but I do understand yours. I trade about 20 coins but CANN is an acquire only for me. CANN is more than a coin, it represents a social movement and Δ9 is way more than a dev, he's a pioneer with means and determination. I support the enlightened.
As far as moving to CIRC to make some scratch that's cool and I'm sure the community will welcome you back but you'd better hurry! I wouldn't expect get back in CANN cheap. I and others are buying your coins and have no intention to give them back (sorry).  -M
what makes you think cann won't be cheap the next months? there is no hurry, this will take some time...
Hi zoata, some "time" yes agreed but time is moving faster than ever before as far as social and professional acceptance of MMJ is concerned. The political positions are changing everyday in near every state and with major elections on the way this is going to be a federal football. It's not that I think that CANN is going to "shoot up" to peg status in the coming weeks - I did not mean to come off like that or that this is like your last chance to buy or anything, just meant that I do not believe that CANN is going to be cheaper in the future and those jumping out will find it more costly to hop back in. As I said I am acquiring as much as I can as often as possible. I do not trade, I buy and hold so my coins are basically off the market and I believe that there are others doing the same. Less coin inventory should beget higher value. My first purchase was October 2014 and I am holding more than 300k CANN. I have an order in right now on Cryptsy for 20k @1511 so if those guys jump out I hope I get their coins. Thanks for the comment. -M

Okay... got a recharged phone and trying to sync the blockchain again. After a couple of false starts it's now up to 576K but has now slowed to processing approx 1 record per second (only one peer with very long lag time). At this slow rate it is only loading a day's worth every half hour. Loading March 19 records now so about 60 more hours to catch up? Hopefully it will find more peers closer and soon...

Regarding the mining and PoS post on the previous page.

I think that myself and many others in this community would not want an increase in the total number of coins. Are there other instances where coins have done that? That seems like a basic virtue in crypto; you can alter block sizes, block frequency, halving rates etc., but you don't alter the total number of coins.

CANN is safe for now, but if the hashrate drops significantly over the next several months/years, it would be wise to change to PoS with returns matching the original PoW schedule then eventually including only transaction fees.

There are no current plans to increase the total number of coins but bear in mind there is room to restore an equivalent number to those that were removed from the block chain (a.k.a. "burned"). At changeover to X11 the published plan was for 106,000,000 coins, a total which is many, many years off and basically unreachable with the current halving schedule.

I think people outside of crypto are having a hard time in being patient syncing their wallets.  I gave away some CANN to couple of people from Phoenix, Arizona.  They haven't synced their wallets until now.  Any howto available on the Android wallet?

OK, so far I've reinstalled and left the wallet synching overnight - it stalled at 368796 with a low battery warning (Yeah, I should've left it on charge). Put it on USB charge (was given the old phone, a Gallaxy II but not its charger) and restarted the wallet which found 1 peer & resumed synching. Soon stopped again though, seems to draw more power than the little USB hub delivers which may mean that the initial sync is processor-intensive.

Going to recharge the phone before trying again & will let you know how that goes.

has anyone tested out the CannabisCoin paper wallet for deposits and withdrawals to see if it works smoothly?

 please let me know

Yeah, hopefully the new web platform comes out sooner rather than later.  Feels good hooking up the people of Phoenix in need of medication.

Hi tokeweed.

I've just started the Android wallet on a Gallaxy II, it took a few minutes on wifi updating various google things and another couple of minutes catching up 4 days data for the wallet (I'm only showing one peer here in Qld.).

Unfortunately there is no means of providing a bootstrap as I do for the Qt wallets as the only way to transfer the data file would be to make everyone install the Android SDK - not at all practical.

Yours is the first report I have had of a stuck wallet although that could be because not a lot of people are regularly using it yet. Having problems is a little surprising though because it is pretty much a stock-standard schildbach wallet.

As far as a "how to" goes it is simply a matter of downloading the app and installing it, same as any other app.

The only thing I can think of is poor data transfer rates if people are having trouble synchronizing and my only recommendation to do so over wifi.

I have to go out for a bit but when I get back I'll uninstall from this old phone and see what happens with a fresh install - I'll get back to you with an idea of how long it takes to fully sync.
