Here's a declaration right up front:
All costs, from grow sites right down to hosting the block explorer, are met out of the pockets of team members, mainly ∆9 and Heisenberg.
Nobody gets paid working on or for the Yes We CANN movement or CANNdy development and no I don't receive any form of stipend for my time or posts here. I do occasionally receive donations from community members which, if you care to use the
block explorer, you can see have never been traded or spent. The only outbound transactions have been a return of a young fellow's excited donation following assistance with his Android wallet and a transfer for wallet testing which shouldn't have occurred at all, I simply neglected to use manual coin control (bad Bazza).
Now, about slack channels, one was created 4/9/15 but no one seemed interested in using it. I don't even bother to run slack any more but if you are really keen I have the authority to invite you. PM me here if you want an invitation.
About the pictures thing, I don't recall whether that was on the IRC or not but ∆9 did explain how those posts drew a lot of unwanted attention, some of it Federal and at the time he declared no more would be forthcoming. I have asked for some discrete photos to be released and we'll see what happens in due course but they are certainly not a priority.
What is and always will be the team's priority is delivering medicinal cannabis with the minimum achievable environmental impact to patients at the lowest achievable cost. CannabisCoin has a role to play in achieving that goal but the coin is only one tool in the box. It can grow to be an extremely important tool but CannabisCoin is never going to be
the object of the exercise. The focus has always been and always will be delivery of medicine to patients.
As I have pointed out before the first commercial-scale crop will be this northern hemisphere's summer crop with harvest, drying and curing to take place in the fall. As long as CannabisCoin is stable and functional at the time product is available in reliable volume that is all it need be. Had any of the indoor trials shown sufficient scalable economy to deliver product sooner then CannabisCoin's role would have gained that importance at that time. That's why it was released as early as it was, that and early promise of patients being able to cpu mine their meds.
As far as Capitascism's plaintive plea for "an honest answer" goes, I'm not aware of them ever asking a question at all nor of anyone receiving anything but honest answers. What's going on with this coin is the same as it has always been - CannabisCoin exists to facilitate streaming medicinal cannabis to patients. Proof of concept testing went well although it did trigger aggressive coin pumping and that is something we have been at pains to minimize since. Plans for wallet upgrades have been submitted but newly introduced features have not been fully team reviewed at this time. I do not know when that will be concluded.
