I have most of my coins in my Captcoin wallet installed on my computer. My question is, how will I retrieve my coins if my computer broke and I need to reinstall the OS?

A whole year from now? A year is too short. Litecoin, who for a long time had no competition took almost full 3 years to reach it's maximum value. With all this altcoin competition in the market 3 years for CAPT is far more optimistic, may take longer than that to reach real value.

Exactly.. Or you earn around 0.0822% of your total coins everyday as long as your wallet is online and unlocked. Also bare in mind that your coins will only start to stake 8 hour after it's last transaction.

Just remove the no of coins in the destruction address from the total.
No.. there are staked coins circulating already. so the actual number of coins is higher maybe around 3.2Million
